I love your southern accent! Listen I’m nearing 23 years old and I STILL go to the park and play on the swings despite the looks I get from other people 🤣 (if there’s a child there I never take the swing from them though lol)
Hahaha!! Well thanks!! I don’t hear myself apparently- cause we have some family with a thick southern draw and it’s very noticeable! It’s been raining a lot here and we haven’t gotten the swing set put up yet- but we’re planning on making it happen no matter what this week!!! I may just have to get a tester swing in! :)

So cool! We have an 11 year old and 5 and I do not feel comfortable with my oldest having a phone. We don’t use social medias and don’t feel comfortable with them using that tik tok and Facebook stuff. Eventually a phone will be needed probably more close to high school.
Definitely check out Gabb! They are offering a cyber week deal where you get your device free! Thats the other reason we decided to go ahead and do it- and I dont feel worried with them not having access to all that stuff either.
The children need a phone. They may get into a situation where they need you. 11 year old needs one
@@katemiller7874 thats why i think this is a great option. In case of emergencies too, I feel much better with this.
@@katemiller7874 I didn’t have one till 18. But my 11 year old wouldn’t need a cell phone. She goes to school and comes straight home. She goes places where there are adults with a cel phone and they are family. So no. My 11 year old child doesn’t need a cell phone when she’s not even aloud to go anywhere alone. How have we as a people lived hundred of years without a cell phone and now all the sudden we can’t live without it. It’s crazy to think.

Wow! You did say that y'all were dialing it back this yr, but it still seems like a lot of items per child & expensive things too. I'm glad y'all can afford it or maybe I'm the only one who thinks that's a lot. Growing up we got the essentials (socks, underwear, etc) & 1 toy, maybe 2 if it was for all of us. We felt very glad to get that. I see kids these days who seem to have too much stuff so they're not as thankful. I know not all kids are like that. Anyway...sorry if that seemed like a rant, but I didn't mean for it to. I will say those glow in the dark blankets are cool.
This is dialing back for us when were so used to having TONS of little items. Im very thankful for my photography business, so that I am able to do a big item for each kid and then some little things. The swing set was definitely a group family effort ( thank the LORD and the grands!) Our parents always ask what the kids need and want each year. It helps so much! I completely agree though and understand what you mean. Its something I try to teach my kids daily! Thank you for watching!!!
@@AshleighPhelps I totally understand. I have a sister that does way too much for her kids & grandkids. All they do is open presents, throw the paper & says hand me another present. They're not even thankful. I think that what bothers me most. You're kids are so fortunate who have a lot of people who live them. They will get a lot of use out of the swingset. 😊
@@kakylong2 my step brothers were like that. Their mom would take out a loan for them and then when they came to their dads ( my house) they were super ungrateful and would literally do the same thing. IT bothered me SOOOO bad! Before their dad legally adopted me and my brother, my mom was a single mom and worked SOOO hard. We didnt get much but we were SO grateful with what we did get. I know my mom put so much time and thought and worked hard for everything that was given to us. I know some may not agree but I have a really hard time with the whole "Santa" thing. Kids think Santa just brings gifts and everything is free from Santa. Santas so cool and has ALL this money! HAHA!! But for real-- we talk about where the idea of Santa came from but they know who the gifts come from and that we work hard to be able to do special things for their birthdays and Christmas. WE are so very blessed and I dont want them to ever take that for granted.
Im sure Im going to get a lot of back lash for sayin that. But to each their own. Im not saying people who do Santa are bad. I think we just grew up different and we have to raise our children how we feel called to. My kids know what Christmas is really about- Jesus! And whether they kids 3 or 7 presents they know that doesnt take away from what HE did for us. :)
But it sure is fun to take pics with Santa and play with the elves and feed the reindeer! ;)

It took me forever for put together that Honey Bee Acres house. My Lizzy is getting that for Christmas too. She’s going to be 3. I hate those figures because they get so dirty fast. I gave her the Unicorn family before she’s getting the house and the bunny family…and I have to keep wash it it every time after she plays with them. The doll house was worth the $21 I paid for it.
I do notice they look a little dingy- how do you clean them? I might need to know for future play time! :)
@@AshleighPhelps I used the Mrs.Myers dish soap coz it’s mild, and a very soft rag or sponge. It gets cleaned even with a soft bristle brush. I actually rinsed the dolls under the faucet, and it’s fine. I don’t take the clothes off either. Don’t use warm water, because that will destroy the fuzzy skin. Cold water only. I hope that helps.
