    I don't know why but the two Bourne-spying-on-Pam lines -- "she's standing right next to you" and "you look tired" -- are so iconic in this movie. They're almost more memorable to me more than the fight scenes in this one.

    I really like Pam.
    The actress fits that role perfectly. Smart, competent, commanding presence.

      @@mmm-mmm Jeremy Renner is an actor who replaced Matt Damon in one of the Jason Bourne movies.
      He also played Hawkeye in a bunch of MCU movies, but the first answer was why I made my original comment.

      @@mmm-mmm Nah, I didn't have to go to bond, but you're right, there have been quite a few and the latest rumors are that they just named the new one very recently: Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
      Biss talked about hating it when they change actors in a franchise, and she said that while watching a movie franchise that actually does the thing she hates - she just didn't know it yet.
      I appreciated the irony of that that statement while watching this franchise so I cited the replacement actor for the franchise.

    • @Tallenn
      @Tallenn 21 день назад

      But he wasn't just a different actor, it was a different character in the same universe. So, they didn't really change actors, they told a different (but related) story. Bourne Legacy wasn't as good as the trilogy, but still a good movie.

  • @Britton_Thompson

    The reason so much of this trilogy centers on Europe is because the books they're based on were written during the Cold War (1945-91) when the US and USSR were competing for Europe. Although the films were released in the 2000s, well after the Soviet Union collapsed. The filmmakers kept a lot of the characters and locations, but updated them to fit the post-Cold War NATO intelligence operations. It ultimately ends up falling into this weird in-between period that ignores both of those defining eras of American espionage.
    The Bourne films exist in an alternative pocket universe of time inspired by the Cold War books; released in theaters during the GWOT; but focused on the 10 years in-between the Cold War and GWOT where nothing significant happened in NATO's intelligence agencies.

    Great reaction, you got to grips with most of the storyline. I’ve seen all the films many many times, in certain ways each one gets better than the previous. The next one, The Bourne Ultimatum, is possibly the best one overall. The fourth is The Bourne Legacy, which leads with different character and has references to the earlier films. The final film is all about Jason Bourne and features Matt Damon again. Looking forward to see your reactions to these, keep smiling.

    The scene with Jason going to visit the daughter of the parents he killed was completely Matt Damon's idea. He wanted to show that Bourne was trying to make up for some of his past crimes and that he had regrets and was growing as a character. Damon said he would not have agreed to do the movie without a plot point like that.

    The shaky cam does horrible things to me unless I'm watching under very specific circumstances. I love the Bourne movies, but because of the shaky cam I can only watch them on a small screen, and even then, I can't watch them in full screen mode. I need something static on the screen to avoid getting nauseous. When I first saw these movies, my experience was a bit broken because I kept having to look away during all the fights and chases to keep from getting sick. For me, it really showed the quality of these movies, that I couldn't watch frequent parts of them, and I still enjoyed them so much. The Bourne movies remain my favorite spy-thriller type movies. Hope you're having a great day! ✌🤓

    The 2nd in the series used a 'new' camera technique in the filming. Supposed to instill the feeling of 'action'.
    I and everyone I know of who watched the movie had the SAME complaint .. it was really annoying!!
    I think, from memory they went back to the original camera technique in the following film.
    Excellent action packed series of films that set a standard for others to follow. John Wick was one of the followers .. in a slightly different vain.
    I think it was in 'The Bourne Identity' that I first became aware of Matt Damon's existence as a serious actor even though I had seen him in 'Good Will Hunting' some time before.
    Of course he's gone on to make such movies as 'The Martian' and 'Interstellar'.

    Make sure you understand that the guy didn't mean to shoot Marie. Borne and Marie swapped seats. He thought Borne was still driving. So he thought he put the shot into the back of Bornes head, not Marie's.

      Have to keep in mind that we went to the movie theater (or not) completely psyched to see this, and we paid full attention, and didn't talk to an audience during it. The big drawback to these reactions is this is just next on the list for her, and all of the others too, and mixed in with music reactions and gaming as well. Can't help but expect them to just go through the motions most of the time.

      @@MoMoMyPup10 Probably all true. Not to mention that when it comes to the vast majority of these reaction videos with various reactors, it's very likely that they have actually seen these movies before. This is what happens when you let your Patreon viewers determine what you will be reacting to. All I ask is that they have some really good acting skills and make it seem believable. 😏

      @@jeremybr2020 it is funny that everything starts here on YT but then once Patreon gets built up, YT is just an afterthought. I personally think it's crazy to pay someone to watch movies for you, but somehow it works.

    • @jeremybr2020
      @jeremybr2020 Год назад

      @@MoMoMyPup10 To be clear, you're not paying someone to watch a movie for you. You're paying to watch someone react to a movie. That is after all, the appeal. Now don't get me wrong, the first time I heard about "reaction" videos, I laughed at what seemed like a ridiculous concept. That is until I gave it a little more thought. What happens after you watch a really good movie? You usually tell friends and family that they have to go see this great movie. And even better, I want to be there when you go see it, so that I can watch you get the same feelings of shock and emotion that I experienced when I first saw the movie. That is appealing. So it's not really a stretch to see the appeal in watching others see something that you think will be impactful to them. Unfortunately, as is typically the case, when you add money to the mix, it tends to "corrupt" things. Though corrupt may be a little too strong of a word, but in this case, it might be appropriate to say it. The desire to make monetary gains will cause people to be less than honest with their claims. So, "first time viewings", might not be entirely accurate.

    I always thought the Bourne movies had the potential to be Batman movies. They would have to change the killing and the amnesia, but the skills would fit. Even without the costume, Batman is the best at everything.
    If you want another movie similar to this one, look for the Jackie Chan movie, Who Am I? It's another story about a highly skilled agent with amnesia.

    Ok Jason Bourne and James Bond do different things... Bond is an MI6 spy for the UK... And he's a 00 which means he's has the authority to use guns... As trained as bond is, HE'S NOTHING COMPARED TO JASON BOURNE
    OK Jason Bourne is what is known as a *Sleeper Cell* he is better trained than Bond. Bourne's job is to be a cypher, a ghost. He is planted in any part of the world and to is trained to "go local" to blend in a to disappear. when *ACTIVATED* he is the search out ANY possible targets who would pose a threat to National Security and eliminate that target without being noticed... Most of the time Sleepers will be sent on missions that can last for years and not getting activated.... Mostly taking surveillance and recon (reconnaissance missions) but they live most of their lives in secret...
    Bond is always out in public...

    The movie gives the impression of Marie being shot through the cars rear window but all the screen shots of the car, crashing over the bridge, in the water & being pulled out of the water do not show the rear window with a bullet hole. How was Marie shot 🤔, any thoughts?

    It's interesting watching this move 19 years later, when the geopolitical situation has changed so much. Hollywood doesn't make films in Russia anymore, since the US foreign policy establishment's long term strategy took effect - to keep expanding the US empire and prevent Russia from recovering after the break-up of the Soviet Union by surrounding it with NATO coutries and military bases, isolating Russia economically and destroying it by doing regime change and breaking it up territorially has taken effect - and resulted in Russian counter-measures and the absolute backfiring of the strategy with anti-Russia sanctions only hurting the collective west, not hurting Russia and the other BRICS nations at all. Now it's the collective West which is the failing economies with the dilapidation and backwardness and authoritarianism and corruption everywhere, while it is the countries the US is still feebly trying to destroy which are thriving and booming and modernizing. The great bluff of NATO's supreme military power and supremacy has been called and their lack of industrial capacity to sustain a full-scale conventional war, even on a limited proxy basis, has been revealed for the whole world to see, although anyone who thinks about the importance of manufacturing industry in history could see that coming.
