Interesting way of tying the fly don't think I have seen it tied like that before, looks fantastic. I will give this way a go Davie thanks for sharing.
Superb Davie, watching this took me back 6o years. I fished with Bert at Roberton burn where it meets the Clyde and he was an artist. Another favourite was his Rough Olive that I still tie and use all over. Cheers, stay safe, Big Davie.
I saw your interview and honestly couldn't see the questions to easily. But that was nice to see. And as a long-term subscriber I want you to know I found out recently am part Scottish . I will say fishing and tying is in my blood.
Great pattern, Mr McPhail. I tie some steelhead tubes in reverse...never thought about doing the same on heavily hackled dry flies. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Superb video, saw the FM interview as well. Remember being show a simple March Brown spider pattern in the early 70s which didn’t have the funnel style hackle, brought back memories of the school fly tying club, tutors included Lionel Sweet and Quentin Cavanagh of River Usk fame.
Great looking spider mate. Always enjoy watching you tie my friend. Thanks for sharing another great video from the Master. Best Regards from West Virginia, Ken
Fantastic Davie! A superb tutorial! I've been reading that book a lot recently so its great to see one of the flies from it being tyed! I must now have a go at tying this pattern too! Thanks Davie! Such an inspiration!
I always wish I could find some of the older fly tying books. In Saskatchewan Canada there isn’t a lot of old fly tying books at used book stores. It’s interesting to see some of the ones you have been able to collect.
Hi E Sjovald, Many of the books I have bought come from dealers I find online and on my travels around the UK looking in any of the antique and vintage book shops which I really enjoy doing when I can..Online the website I have used is called abebooks which have a huge collection from many dealers...I hope this is of some help to you.. All the very best Davie.. www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?cm_sp=SearchF-_-topnav-_-Results&ds=20&kn=fly%20tying%20books&sts=t
Hola Davie, hace rato que no disfrutaba tus enseñanzas, espero poder emplear esta mosca en Neuquén, en el Huechulaufquen, en diciembre, cuando estaré tratando de engañar a alguna trucha.- Un saludo
Cheers davie, just getting into clyde style and saw that you done a bunch a couple of years ago. Cant wait to follow your fine examples. Any chance you could to a clyde style nymph in the future as I don't see any online.

Hi Davie, wonderful fly. I started to fish Tenkara this year and a Sakasa Kebari I tied was a Trout slayer. It was the capitulation of your fly 🪰
