Jerry’s harmonica is talking … My dad was a big fan of American musics especially Blues, the Bluegrass and Outlaws, so lucky enough to listen all his collections from my young age, one of his favorite legend is Mr Muddy Waters, also Dad took a photo with Muddy when his band came to my home town Copenhagen in 1968 or something around, I was born in 1990.
Fantastic. In Francis davies excellent book The History of the Blues, Mr Portnoy is never mentioned , even when all other members in the various Waters bands are listed. Impossible to understand. Hace seen Mr Portnoy live , he is outstnding Ola
How can you guys paint when there is such lovely music coming from them. I would be tapping my feet and clapping my hands all the time if I were you and never get anything done

@ 1:20 Jerry gives the guitarist “the look” and the shake of his head. Then @ 1:33 gives him the obvious ok there’s a break here. And then one more time @ 1:55 with the slap and wave of the hand. Sheesh I wonder how much $$ a legendary harmonica player makes at a gig like this. Whatever he can I guess. Now that’s the blues 🤔😩
Jerry is a friend of mine, so that's one reason he agreed to this little get together. He was just having fun and being a good sport. And I didn't notice those signals but you're probably correct. I thought they did a great job but I do know that this wasn't the guitarist that Jerry usually performs with. To some extent they were winging it. Lots of fun for all of us though. And we did pay him, not a lot but probably as much as he would get for a performance in a small nightclub. Plus I gave him my painting!
Portnoy is one of the great and somewhat unknown bluesmen. His tenure in Muddy's band was memorable.
Jerry is my favourite blues harp player

@@schulenburgstudio Nice! He’s a legend in his own time
Wine, paint and a Tin Sandwich!
Wow
I'D paint a picture of his shoes on that carpet.
This is the second video of Jerry Portnoy I've seen where he comes across as quite rude with his gesturing to a fellow musician.
Whoooopie poopie
Is this fella related to Dave Portnoy the pizza fella from Barstool Sports?
