I think we missed an opportunity post-covid for a window of enforcing good habits and eating patterns for people. The US (1,219,487 dead) and Mexico (334,958) suffered some of the worst deaths during the pandemic because a large (if not the majority) of the adult population is overweight and does not exercise.
Being overweight itself induces additional stress on to the cardiovascular system without any virus present. Before we think about asking questions of vaccination we need people to take some responsibility for their own health.
Enforcing good habits on people, but not legistating for the removal of the highly processed poison companies call food. About right.
So.. a new virus pops up tomorrow. Vaccines will be the answer again, because "getting healthy habits" is a process that takes years and might is virtually impossible to do at scale.
So next time, lets pit your try to get healthy as quick as possible before you get infected up against a vaccine that takes 5 minutes and lowers your risk of hospitalization down to nothing.

A lot of disinformation in this video, Sam. Anyone trying to argue that we did things appropriately during the pandemic simply should not be listened to. The risk benefit ratio of vaccines was only positive in those that had chronic medical conditions (diabetes and obesity specifically), the risks outweighed the benefits in the general population, but ESPECIALLY in children.
I used to come to Sam's page to hear debate, discussion, and logical reasoning. I'll always be grateful to him for introducing me to meditation and spiritual practice. But he has lost the plot, and this page is generally partisan or emotional reasoning nowadays.
Exactly this, cluld not agree more. I've made the same comment here numerous times. Sam gave me a voice in my youth living in a religiously dominated country and I will always be grateful for that but he has the worst case of TDS known to man and C19 broke him beyond repair. Such a pity. I feel like I lost a friend in some ways.
The other murky aspect that this clip glosses over is that the vaccines do appear to have saved lives (especially in the at-risk population groups, i.e. elderly, obese, etc.) in early 2021, especially when there was a significant proportion of people who had not yet been exposed to the virus. However, the data on efficacy and how many lives may have been saved is MUCH less clear from late 2021 and onwards, especially as vaccinations were recommended and often mandated for younger and younger people who were at minimal risk from the actual disease, MOST of whom had encountered Covid by then and already had antibodies. That is, there is a big difference between "vaccine" impact in the early and later stages of the pandemic, and given the toxic nature of the spike protein, the jury is still out as to whether ongoing pushing of the mRNA vaccines in 2022 and onwards was a net harm or not.

100% the way I saw it.
I am unvaccinated. Caught COVID March 2020, again 45 months later, 3 months short of my 70th birthday. Natural immunity is not diminished by taking MRNA vaccines, but it’s not possible to define wether natural immunity or vaccination kept you safe, ask your doctor if that’s true. I have, they can’t distinguish one way or the other.
Having not taken the vaccine, at least I was safe from possible vaccine injury, or possible death or serious illness. Sadly, some folk who were vaccinated were not as fortunate as myself.
If the IFR was what Sam and his guest think it was (it's not, it's dramatically lower), you still wouldn't take a novel vaccine that grants you, at best, boosted immunity for a few months but comes with unknown risks.
So you're never getting a flu vaccine then?
Hope it was worth it Sam. The violations of rights are ALWAYS justified in the present before being condemned in the future.

That 1% covid death rate your guest mentioned is riddled with flaws. Factoring out the variability globally, as well as the bungled mass nursing home deaths, its far lower than 1%
Basically just a flu. Yet these guys want a North Korean society imposed on us.
Johns Hopkins does this analysis globally. It's a bit over 1% in the States. Lower in some countries, much higher in others. All depends on the quality of that country's response to the pandemic.
@@stoutz That is not possible. At 1.2M USA covid deaths, even assuming ALL of those deaths were due to the virus, that would mean only 120M Americans (36%) got COVID. Seroprevalence studies put the number at closer to 95%+. The IFR is far, FAR lower than 1%, even in the USA.
I appreciated this discussion, however must zero in on the part abt "best estimates". (This is probably the main point of disagreement, for some minority of Sam's audience).
While I generally take Sam's point, that we'll have many future problems if we all become conspiratorial, and automatically skeptical of government-issued statistical information, I think that a degree of skepticism is warranted in this particular case.
I realize that it seems clear on the surface, that excess deaths coinciding with waves of infections points to causality.
However, I place at least some emphasis on the observation, that many deaths during these time intervals were more likely to be designated as "Covid related," even if that designation was questionable, in at least some number of cases.
I'm glad we can quickly develop and administer new vaccines, even if medical industrial complex becomes an issue in a highly market-driven society (nevertheless, for the most part, I'm also glad that we're a market-driven society).
However, in the case of this particular vaccine, I think we have enough reliable reports and information to merit some concerns, and also to somewhat question its importance, and efficacy.
While the vaccine helped a significant number of individuals at elevated risk, both the use of ventilators (in extreme cases) and being indoors, probably increased the risk of mortality in many cases, and vitamin D along with other underemphasized, low-risk interventions also helped.
Of course, the limited efficacy of the vaccines over an extended period must also be considered, because the risk of some possible unknown side effects is increased with a greater number of boosters.
Additionally, there's some question involving long term risks, perhaps related to encephalopathy or tissue damage for some individuals, and maybe even for some batches of the vaccine more than others, and for some 'brands' more than others.
To return to the above point, regarding a degree of skepticism as to the specific number of verifiable excess deaths:
Although this enters the territory of a challenging moral calculus, we must ask ourselves what kind of mortality rate justifies an indefinite imposition of martial law, in a free society.
It's difficult to say that some lives matter more than others. However, if deaths per flu season were quadrupled, and those afflicted were children, most ppl would weigh this consideration much differently than an approximate number of seasonal deaths, among elderly and at-risk populations.
Furthermore, when we begin to at least somewhat question the exact number of deaths due directly to Covid, the calculus is further altered:
Lockdown measures taken in a free society should be proportional to the actual or projected rate of mortality.
So, was the death rate similar to 5-10 flu seasons combined? If we question (appropriately) the statistics, could it have possibly been more like, 2-4 flu seasons combined?
What kind of restrictive measures are justifiably taken, in what has been colloquially described, as an 'extra bad flu season?'
Within certain limits, ppl in a free society are permitted to endanger not only themselves, but even to endanger others to a certain degree, as long as they do not cause direct and deliberate harm to individuals, nor introduce an unacceptable amount of risk to the wellbeing of the populace.
The bar for impinging on the rights and freedoms of individuals, must always be set as high as is reasonably possible, and is practically feasible.
Thanks! Not sure if I totally agree with you, but it is a relief to read a nuanced and balanced reaction on this topic.
@@marionow6227 Ty, I just hope that next time the government can be more diligent in determining (possible) risks, informing the public, and can also competently facilitate contact tracing in a timely manner.
@@Jules-Is-a-Guy I would hope that too. Except that there are allways emergencies. And in those times it is the job of the government to make decisions when not all facts are known yet.
"However, I place at least some emphasis on the observation, that many deaths during these time intervals were more likely to be designated as "Covid related," even if that designation was questionable, in at least some number of cases."
The beauty of excess mortality is that it doesn't rely on coroners or doctors getting any individual cause of death correct. There is no plausible explanation for roughly 1 million extra deaths besides COVID. Bret Weinstein can bloviate about "muh 17 million vaccine deaths" all he wants.
Most people are seemingly reluctant to read this many words in the course of deciding what their opinion is on such a situation, so I'm not optimistic about the behavior of any party next crisis.

Its not that vaccines did not work or an achievement that they were delivered so quickly.
It that they came with serious side effects, especially heart related. The public policy of coercion that was later adopted was the big problem.
The vaccines after the 1st few variants did very little to prevent the spread of covid, the risk to young people was much lower than older people and the incidence of mayocarditis much higher.
Also natural immunity was belittled and recovered people were forced to get vaccinated or lose their livelihoods. Also subsequent boosters were pushed with very little supporting evidence, some of them conducted only mice studies.

2/10. keep practicing.
@@godisbollocks ah, bot, yes, that explains it of course, thanks
I so miss the time when I was young enough to be able to turn of my brain in pure lazyness and rely on authorities to guide my way in the world. Guess I'm older than Sam.
Turning your brain on doesn't mean automatically rejecting everything the mainstream establishment says. Sometimes having your brain turned on means you look at the evidence and decide the establishment got it right. This is one of those times.
when you get brain cancer, I'm sure you won't want an authority on the subject or an 'elite' doctor. No, you'll use your vast wisdom to cure yourself.
@@hpesoj00 Believe me, I truly wish this were one of those times, considering the magnitude of it all. All the evidence, driving incentives, vindicated former conspiracy theorists and my personal experience in drug development (including memories of the discussions on the disapointing discoveries directly relating to the present "platform") and thereto coupled insight in big-pharma standard procedures, however, unfortunately leads my active brain to disagree with the message of the establishment.
@@hpesoj00Absolutely true.
Your comment might carry more authority if you could write in English. Are you a real person?
Does anyone know if Sam visited Jeffrey's island? It would explain a lot.
Seriously? U are actually making that comment? 🤦♂️
L take, the pandemic ended due to the virus variants becoming less harmful and due to natural immunity building up, the vaccines also of course played a role, but they weren´t the main factor
Yeah, I’d have to agree
Imagine how many more people would die. It's patently obvious that vaccines are more effective and less harmful than "natural immunity", to think otherwise is delusional.
@@ckqWhich vaccines?
