- This time we're going for massive profits and I don't want to leave a drop of oil in the ground. Somehow I actually manage this on a few levels, while spilling various amounts of oil along the way. I try a simpler approach this time and actually use my upgrades. Plus stockpiling oil until prices are good helps a lot in profits. Just don't spill. The final level I try has the single biggest deposit I've ever seen so naturally I want it all. Turmoil: The Heat Is On gameplay with my commentary as always!

You can end early for a bonus and when you get the upgrade for thermal pipes you can make the gas pockets grow by surrounding them with pipes that are connected to lava

I accordance with the replies. MAGMA UPGRADES I can't stress it enough how important it is to get MAGMA UPGRADES. Once more for good measure *MAGMA UPGRADES GET THEM ALL NOW*
i sigh when he leaves the pipe directly connected to the pump un-upgraded but upgrade the lower down one
I sigh when he doesn't max out on horses, or when he plays the DLC campaign before the regular one so he doesn't know he can make his gas pockets grow.
I sigh when you guys sigh that he doesn't know this game all the way through even though he makes it clear at both the start and the end of the video he's learning from the comments, not the game itself. No need to be passive aggressive guys, just comment your knowledge in a constructive, not a snarky, way for him to read, and he will, he says so at the end of this video.

so the magma can actually speed up the oil extraction. it's useless without that upgrade.

Like with the horses, the silo upgrade you got in town is something that you also have to upgrade while digging for oil. Hover over a silo and it's upgrade button will popup.

You could close the input of the pumps to prevent spillages yes it costs 150 but it’ll save more then if you spill.

So 2 tips. Get more horses than you need and then upgrade them so you minimize spills.
The second tip is that you shouldnt wait out the level if you get all the oil. Press F or click your money and end the level early. You will get a bit back for that. Its not a lot but its not nothing either.

He kept selling oil at cheap prices because his silos were full and there was no more room for them but he forgot he could have upgraded them.
If only he'd place those silos on top of one another! But oh well, there's hope that he'll learn.

Hey Df! Heres a tip, if you drain all the oil and/or gas, you will get a bonus. If I remember correctly, its maybe 1k per bonus

Hey DF I used to play this game like long time ago never seen Magma so maybe these tips are useless but here goes : BUY SILO UPGRADES they are so useful land the very last silo upgrade makes a SUPER SILO and combines 2 lvl 3 solos and basically stores a metric ton of oil, I know how much you love moles but the scanner is so much more useful Becuase you can get a big area instead of just little triangles plus it is easier to control (the scanner). If your going to not be able to keep up with oil shut off the valve (won’t stop the timer when your overflowing). Don’t always upgrade pipes unless you really need to it’s sometimes thousands in upgrades that weren’t necessary. DO NOT buy the drill speed you need to put it on each individual drill in game (unless you connect the towers to eachother via pipes like if tower 1 has the drill on it to go through rocks connecting a pipe to tower 2s pipe will give it the same upgrades then if tower 2s pipe is connected to tower 3 tower 3 then also gets it sorry for the looooooong explanation but I hope this helps and I absolutely love your content

Always a good idea to check out Maeve's and you can bribe someone to keep the prices above "x" amount. Helps if one side is always buying oil for over a dollar. And there's a guy you can pay off to ignore the spillage fines.

Another good strat is to go to the card place (Daffnes) and do a deal that limits how low the prices can go on either side.
Almost 3x more than second place. Not too shabby, DF the Oil Tycoon.
Someone teach this man how the piping system works! All pipes can connect to each other at the joints. You can connect any amount of oil wells to your pipes, each joint can connect up to the connection limit, which can be increased with upgrades. This can be done ad infinitum, making one giant network if you want. Any wells that are connected via pipes share upgrades. This is a great way to save money. For example, if you have a fully upgraded well with a decent pipe network, expanded pipe sizes, etc, but it's not very close to any more pockets of oil, build a well close to some oil and connect the first well to this new well through piping in any way you see fit. This will give all those upgrades on the first well to that second well as well. Now both wells can extract from this patch drawing in oil more quickly, and if there is rock in the way, the second well can still drill through it and make pipes at the upgraded speed the first well had.
DF videos are always funny but watching him struggle at this game is some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen
You can leave early to get an extra 1k and a bit of money back from the land lease
You can also get a loan while in the oil drilling if you run low on funds
You, GrayStillPlays, and blitz should all make a video together, you guys are some of the funniest people on here i love it

One good way I found to avoid spillage is to upgrade the pipe right before it overflows. This will stop all oil from flowing in while it finishes. Yes this might make your problem worse down the line, but it is a good safety net. Also you should be checking out the tavern, they have helpful people.

DF, upgrade your storage even more. what that will do is if you place 2 storage silos next to each other and upgrade those individually to the max, you should be able to get the option to fuse the two to make a super silo. And if you have magma and the gas, you could use the magma to expand the gas pocket. And you could also use magma to turn oil into steam, but I think you need an upgrade for that from the magma shop. And finally you could spend a little bit of money to prevent the prices from dropping down a certain price.
You have to have a magma upgrade for your pipes to speed up your oil. It would be glowing yellow/orange when it’s in effect. Also you can drill into the same deposit with the same oil deposit the one time you didn’t have enough money for the pipes. Love this game tho!
if you build your pipes in shorter segments they upgade faster because you can upgrade the segments at the same time
As someone who has played this a lot it's a little painful but very entertaining to watch
Df if you click were your money is you can take loans and get out early if you think you have all the oil and have sold it for a few thousand bonus cash and will speed up playtime too

I don’t know if you figured this out already, but the upgrade to drill through rock only needs to be bought once. Connecting rigs via pipes gives them the upgrade. Also, pay attention to oil flow. There’s good flow, where the pipe is full of oil, and weak flow, where there’s gaps in the oil. Upgrade the good flow, not the weak flowing pipes,until the pipes all have a good flow. You’ll end up with more oil.
Build the silo's next to each other, that way you can combine them to one when fully upgraded.

Your able to use the mouse wheel to assign horses to the left and right oil companies. I find it helpful to quickly transfer where my oil is going.

DF, you can join multiple towers and by doing that, both towers inherit all upgrades
The dowsers find the oil from the closest to the surface and working their way down. That can be handy to know.
DF buying counters to assert dominance
I’m pretty sure if you get all the oil early, you can leave the area early in the pause menu for bonus money
If you stop a level before the final month of your land ownership, you get 1000$. You do this in the pause menu, the option "stop level" doesn't reset it to the previous year, it skips the rest of your land lease

DF if you connect gas pockets to lava they will expand to huge deposits that get you tons of money you have to have the valve to the side that you want to sell to closed till you have expanded the gas enough to do a sell off..
I got here more quickly than the US Military finding out oil in the Middle East.

If you connect the pipes of each oil rig you won't need to purchase a better drill for each individual rig. Also, more pipe branches will let you build a central pipeline.
Keep some horses to store in silos to help prevent spilling
You can cut the line before an oil spill to not get any fines.
