Had it. Sold it. Got the Blue Angels. Love it! And yes, the wing profile of the links is a great nod to flight. I prefer 40mm or less but this 42 wears comfortable and doesn’t look too large on my 6-5/8” wrist, and those sword hands make it super easy to quickly view the time. If you’re thinking about this, just get it. It’s better in the metal and price-to-value is hard to beat.
Great review! I just bought the Nighthawk based on your video and used the Amazon link in the notes. Hope you get credit for the purchase. Again, great review and great channel overall!
I recently picked up the Nighthawk Blue Angels model. It is a phenomenal time piece. For years I have invested in Swiss mechanical watches but I wanted to try a solar model. Let's be realistic, quartz is just more accurate. The first quartz watch I bought was the Certina Chronometer. You just can't get much better. Now I am considering the Citizen Eco - Drive Satellite. Do you have any thoughts on this watch?
Does the seconds hand hit the markers exactly? Can you adjust the hands for alignment? I know the more expensive Skyhawk hands can be aligned manually.
Jason Schwartz the second hand alignment was very good, as I recall, but I don't have the watch anymore it was loaned to me from a buddy. I don't think you could manually align it but I'm not certain about that.
Anyone know where to get a sapphire crystal replacement. I don't know the diameter size or thickness that I need but I definitely want a sapphire crystal on this guy
Commenting in 2025 about the battery. Bought in 2008. Haven't worn out charged since 2017.... just put it out in the sun with the pin pulled for about an hour and it stated right up.
guys, help me out. Citizen makes a Titanium version of this with a sapphire glass. It is a euro model only. Does anyone know the exact model number? Citizen doesnt show it on their website.
1.5 mm clearance on pin to case. Thinner 22mm bands will work. Thick leathers that have more than 1.4 mm on the band and pin edge diameter is gonna not work. Use special tool kit.
JustBlueFish yea I'm still deciding. love the dial. although the numbers are far too small to actually use it for calculation etc.... bracelets decent as well. I've put a black leather strap on to give it that breitling look!!
is it pronounced as 'echo' drive? I thought because it is an ecological watch - as in its more green than quartz watches that use batteries, eco is an abbreviation of ecological.
*Would’ve been nice if you had demonstrated the Dual Time Zone function. Your buddy that loaned you the watch wouldn’t have minded if you had adjusted the hands to show your viewers what you instead told us. Further explanation is definitely needed. This video was 30 minutes. There was ample time to address one of the main functions of this timepiece. SMH!!* *I like your mechanical watch reviews much better.*
Absolutely beautiful, regardless of price.

At 187 dollars on Amazon as I write this, a case can be made this is the better watch for the money right now. Very tempting. Thanks for the review.
I have the same one going on 12 yrs now 👍

Ron Vega thank you Ron, for watching and using my link. I'm glad you liked the video. I hope you enjoy the Nighthawk.
An extremely detailed and enjoyable review, thank you!
I liked hearing you make up words for watch parts during this review. Well done. Very cool watch.
Cool looking and well made piece.
Good review and glad to see a citizen
Yeah it's pretty nice. Stay tuned for the Seiko Flightmaster review. It's tough to pick a favorite.
Interesting setting of a dual time zone - with an hour hand. Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
Buenas tengo uno igual desde hace varios años la batería me está fallando quisiera saber el modelo para comprarla y llevar a sustituirla
I do believe these types of tool watchers were read whilst under a magnifying glass...:)

Hey Gregory thanks for watching. I can't say I'm familiar with the Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite, I'll have to look it up.
The logo under Eco-Drive is the Promaster logo. Nice review.
Thanks for watching.
No it’s not. It is the Nighthawk logo

My Nighthawk Blue Angels second hand misses the marks too.
I would love if you got your hands on one of the new citizen Skyhawks for review. They look so interesting but very little reviews.

Where is the GMT hand?

Doesn't the quartz sort of go bad after 15 - 20 years? Maybe that's what they meant by the "lifetime battery" - lifetime of the watch
I don't know, I've never heard that, but that could be true. I'll have to research that a little more further.
Citizen says the eco drive battery will last 20 years until it needs replacing
Eco drive uses a rechargeable solar cell battery. Some last 10 yrs and longer. In all itll cost around d 30-40 bucks too have replaced when needed.
Can I put a nato strap on this? I heard it's a tight fit
This was a watch on loan, I never tried to take it off the bracelet so I don't know for sure how any other straps would fit.

Just picked up a flightmaster looking forward to the review
How are you liking it? I'm pretty impressed with mine so far.

I don’t know, you're probably right.

It's E-co not echo.. Just so you now...
