Honestly this is one of my favorite SVU episodes cause it shows the dangers of a bias attitude and that’s exactly what Cragen portrayed. He automatically assumed Vega was the killer because of his past which is what a lot of ex cons face once they’re released so I’m glad Vega wasn’t killed in that episode and that Cragen saved him! Tbh if I was a cop and met one of the criminal’s I put away on a case I’d be skeptical but only portray actually concern if they knew a lot of details of the crime in a mysterious way.

@@GABRIELA-ACEVEDO.Yes it have a sour ending, and it's was nice to see Munch helping Donald to confort that case (Maybe Donald was helping John to deal with the hell that lived in Baltimore Homicide Department (Crosseti and Felton's deaths, mass shoting on the squad room, Pembelton's stroke and quit, Bayliss being shoot and his suicide, his ex-wives, Giardello's death and more, at the same time John was helping Donald to deal not just only with Max death, with his betrayal by O'Farrell, the fact that the IAB and Departament Cheif's wanted revenge against him, Marge's death and more)

So in the end the victim Rebecca Wheeler was killed because of jealousy. Just because the killer couldn't handle the rejection and couldn't stand the idea that his dream woman chosed somebody else and not him.

Under the circumstances I don't think most people would have done any different. The NYPD SVU & ADA knew they fucked up this time and I think she went pleading cause she knew they'd listen & they were the only ones who could help. I am sure also they had the decency to drop the lawsuit afterwards given Cragen literally saved her Father Javier's wife. And I doubt they would bring any charges against him again despite committing several felonies including near attempted murder
