Adarsha K S. His name is Lewis Pragrasam. The CD is called Ethnic Asian Rhythms for the Modern Drummer. I did a search for it online and I was able to find it. It's excellent. These rhythms are near and dear to me. Having heard and seen them performed on the original instruments, to be able to have a break down of them i can transfer to the set is amazing. Also a very good family friend of mine is the one who counts off the tempo before the click track starts.

My favorite part is the Pete's prelude to song#1. The intricate sounds he creates using idiophones and the snare reflects the richness of traditional Indian Music which is hardly explored on the drum set. This lesson paves the path to a whole new facet of rhythm and drums. Thank you Drumeo!

This made my day, I've been a big Pete fan for almost ten years. This man has mastered more percussion instruments than anyone in the world and is one of the tabla greats in my opinion. An extraordinary talent, and I can imagine the discipline to train a mind to feel rhythm like that is impressive. Really dig what your doing and how your fusing the language onto the drum set. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and being a great inspiration for me.

Feels really fantastic to see a few Indian rhythm structures explained (though in minute quantity). It would be great if Drumeo could inspire us with drumming ingenious to different parts and cultures of the world. There is so much to learn and adopt from other rhythmic cultures and music as well. This could be a beginning for a new theme of episodes/lessons.

Absolutely stunning!!! Nicely done Drumeo it is awesome to hear fresh ideas on mixing ethnic rhythms applied on drums, they add so much flavour and musicality to drumming. Long ago I was digging into Arabic and Middle Eastern sounds, also very interesting on Iberian sounds (eg Bozzio Levin Stevens - Duende and Tzigane) not to mention all African, Indigenous, Latin and several other rhythms.
Thumbs up for musicians exploring rhythms of the world on their drum set,

Wow, that was incredible.... I have heard of this guy from several of my drum teachers and also from Joe Crabtree and this guy is amazing. He truly understands all sub-divisions from whole note to 32nd note and every triplets in between. Not only that, but he understands rhythmic structures, meters and pulse. Very creative with his phrasings too. It's amazing how drummers like him can sounds so different from "singing" (with drums) drummers like Ralph Peterson, Jack Dejohnette, Jeff Tain Watts and many others. Drumming with melodies with wide arrange of rhythmic structures... This is why drums and percussions go beyond other instruments. Melodies can be infinite only because of different timbre but rhythm is infinite because of space and tempo! wow!
