  • In this video I go over many mods that you can do to your slow stock motorcycle to turn it into something a bit faster and a lot more fun.
Some mods are super straight forward while others require some mechanical knowledge but there is no better time than now to learn.

One cheap way to make your bike go faster.
Is to reduce your own body weight through proper diet & exercise!!
Exercise is very important! Also Apple cider vinegar is not a bad thing to take a little three times per day.

ACV is really only effective if you’re fasting. But if it’s helping you lose weight than I don’t see a problem!! I would highly suggest lcarnitine. Supplements can help but calorie deficit will do more than anything

How to make your motorcycle faster….learn to ride the thing before doing any modifications ……… if you increase speed, essential to improve handling and stopping capabilities and that includes the rider.

    • @TheMotorcycleForge
      @TheMotorcycleForge  Год назад +1

I would start with a free flowing exhaust and a flat slide carb.
It depends how far you want to modify it aswell.
For example if you really want it to fly you could fit a better cam shaft, big bore kit, increase the compression ratio and some light porting.
After that it would definitely get to 140 but the engine will be under more stress.
      Hope this helps.

    • @TheMotorcycleForge
      @TheMotorcycleForge  7 месяцев назад

Depend on how much time and money you want to invest in it.
Easy stuff is open up the airbox a bit, rejet the carbs to suit or even get some cr race carbs for it, the stock exhaust is not terrible but you could get performance one which would be a bit lighter and less restrictive.
Even further in you could port the head, get the cams reground and up the compression or the fastest option by a superbike.

The 600 race teams do the following
Strip engine, port head, race cam, blue print the engine ( make all the parts the same weight).
      Race ecu and dyno tune.
This is over kill for the diy mechanic.
For you I'd probably just do a race exhaust, race air filter and dyno tune.
Otherwise I'd probably just upgrade to a 1000cc superbike if you wanna go real fast

Looking at the specs, its engine is very under square by design.
A big bore kit would definitely help the most.
It is injected so no cheap mods unfortunately. You could get a tuner for it and put a hi flow air kit on it will help a bit but defo a bigger cylinder will help heaps and maybe some porting depending on what the head design is like.
      Hope this helps, Cheers Logan

Bore to stroke ratio is very under square so will struggle to make power in the high rpm. A big bore kit will help, tuning the take and exhuast legths to work together will make a big difference.
Easiest thing I would do is a pwk carb first before internal work

Aero is a big factor affecting top end speed.
Engine wise unfortunately the v star 250 is very under square hence it will struggle in the high rpm.
Upgrade the 26mm carb to a 30 and a set of tuned piped is the easiest/ cheapest.

gsxr 125... I can't really find aftermarket parts that specifically help with performance it seems like no one does it, anything you can recommend, Cba waiting to be older for a bigger bike this thing tops out at just 86 but gets there sooo slowly, it's faster then all my friends bikes but i don't even know where to start, got a good full system exhaust, taken off the mirrors to reduce wind drag and i hate mirrors anyway, i weigh like 60kg so pretty light. no idea what to do

Ok so in nz they have a 150 version that people race.
The cdi is limited, would recommend a better unrestricted one.
Also a slightly bigger carb and more free flowing air box will help as well.
That's the easy mods before you go into the engine.

I think it would be the main part you would need. You may need wiring stuff to fit it to your wiring harness.
Unfortunately don't know how much power you would gain from it as I haven't used one of those tuners& bikes.
You would need a computer aswell to do the new map programming.
There might be more stuff available for the gsxr125 if they continue to make it in the next year ect.

It has a very small 22mm carb on it, I would definitely be upgrading that to a bigger carb, 24mm or 26mm.
That's the easiest one, if your mechanically minded, some porting, reground cam and up the compression from the stock 9.5to 1 and it will go a lot faster, do the simple stuff first and see how it goes.

Oko and Cpo are decent pwk style carbs, you will need to make sure it will fit your intake boot from the airbox and you will need a new manifold adaptor to suit as well.

They seem to be very under square in design so when you are tuning it with exhaust and intake ect, try to aim for improving the mod range as they will struggle with making power in the high rpm.
I would also up the compression as it's quite low compared to a fxr.

Most bikes will gain a bit of power top end with a 2mm bigger carb.
You will also get a bit more responsiveness if you go to a racing flat slide style carb.
