I love how low maintenance this cut is. I can shower, put barely any pomade to pre-style, and quick blow dry. No extra time to hassle or style!

How do explain this to my barber? I've been trying to do this for years but I always have the sides and back too long and never get the front right

Hey, I have curtains. I have achieved this by changing my barber. Firstly I show my barber a picture. (Could be Leon Kennedy Ps1 version, or find some pictures) The instructions I give to my new barber are, back and sides should be cut beforehand. They have to cut them from bottom to above. They need to stop cutting the sides about eye level. Back can be trimmed or you can get them cut bit more, from short to longer, gradually goes longer when you go up. Same thing for sides again. Upper side of your hair which now sticks up, tell them to wash or get the hair wet. Then ask them to part the hair from the middle. Then ask them to cut the hair about eye level or eyebrow level, depending on the preference. Both sides should be in exact length if you want to part the hair from the middle. If you want to part it from sides, side you part is should be bit shorter, but not too much. Barber can use shaver or scissors, I recommend scissors since barber can be more in control. But my barber uses shaver, which is still not a big deal if you don't want an undercut. They can use the comb in order to give that shorter to longer look.
By the way, if this failed, I don't take full responsibility since this is how I ask my barber.

if you're worried about a barber not knowing how to do this hairstyle i recommend going to a salon instead, barbers are great for short hair but longer styles like this are great for salons

If I feel confident in the hairstyle, I’m going to get it, regardless of other people’s judgement. You are not responsible for their thoughts or perceptions, so go rock that shit if you truly want it. As for worrying if it’ll turn out bad, yeah, I fear that too. I haven’t gotten my cut yet because the salons are still closed in my area, but when they reopen I’m gonna make sure to bring plenty of photos to show how exactly I want the style to turn out, so hopefully doing that will help you out as well. Me too! I am a girl and I just adore this hairstyle 😍 I want it badly but I have soft afro hair and would have to do a lot to get my hair curly or wavy. Then again it might not even look like a curtain... : ( Anyways, I get why you might be worried about what other people think about you, especially ticktok stereotypes likes the e-boy but honestly I stopped caring about what other people think about me and life is great! I rather be me then what other people want me to be, ya know. Like judge me when your perfect XD I hope that helps.

This is a style that I am trying to achieve, which my hair needs to get a bit longer, and my other issue is that I have pretty wavy hair that knots up on the sides and it curls in the front. If I blow dry it right then it stays better, but idk, my hair is just a mess, and I think I need to get it permanently straightened.

Yepp its really like a normal korean haircut. They wear Medium length a lot. In germany its the same like in the US. They wear sides like an undercut and a long top, too. I was thinking about cutting this haircut too, but I spent 4,5 years now with all long hair into bun. Its not easy to get an other haircut now cause it took so much effort to let it grow. 😂 but maybe in a few months.
