Absolute beast! For the record, I cannot hold that pace for even one mile. You're super inspirational, and no fuss. I love your style. Thanks for sharing your story with us mere mortals!
Great video and these challenges are fun and very inspirational. For several years I have been considering biking to my parents hometown across Denmark in one day (approx. 250k.) and having my first full IM in Cph. August it might be a fun April challenge to ramp up the bike milage early season. Thanks for the push ;-)
Very impressive Joe, I genuinely think you are one of the credible challengers to the Norwegian pair! And I also love the fact that you are around 80kgs, which goes to show you dont need to weigh 60 kgs to perform in endurance sports! 👍
Question: How has recovery been for you after the 50km? Are you biking and swimming more, less, the same? And have you ran since (I ask because many marathoners will take a week or two off running after a marathon)
You made this look so easy that it felt like a regular long run 🙂. Such a fresh approach to the sport it is both humbling and inspiring.. I will be cheering for you at St George. The hilly profile of the bike course and the run play to your strengths.
What a legend Joe. It would have been hilarious if you had made an alternative video of "A day in the life of..." and you made it look as though this was an average Tuesday in your training schedule
Well done Joe 🤩 Thank God you have said ironman is the hardest so I don’t have to bother with 12 hours in the saddle or 50k of pavement pounding - Ironman Copenhagen this August will do nicely 😜
Awesome. Incredibly impressed you could get yourself up for a personal challenge like that that isn’t a race. Did the pressure of RUclips, having a team there etc get the adrenaline pumping in the same way?
That’s amazing joe! 3:36 is by best 10 k pace 🤣. Interestined to know but do you think all your swim and bike training as a cross over effect onto your run performance as you said you didn’t do too much specific training for this goal?
Really surprised you don’t run much over 30k in training with you doing a lot of Ironman training , however it obviously works with you , that’s a really strong run for 50k as well imagine you’d be close to 2:25 ish for a marathon with some specific work
Mate you did a 50k. It’s basically a standard marathon. Go do a 100 miler. Calling a 50k road a run an ultra is hilarious. Enjoyed the video my man but don’t be comparing apples to oranges. You dipped a little toe into ultra with that 50k.
Wow! Talking about working out and being healthy, in consideration of the health of the planet, please do NOT liter PLASTIC in the OCEANS. Rather, CLEAN plastic from the OCEANS 😆🐋🌊 And do NOT OVER-FISH it's cool to be VEGAN 😄🌿
Was ace to be out there with you mate! Next time I'll try and hold on for a bit longer haha! Great edit Tyler!

50k avg 3:33 min/km pace with avg 145bpm HR? Unbelievable!
Woof woof woof! You need to get some merchandise with the Junk yard dog bark. That’s pretty funny. Good job on the 50k!
Absolute beast! For the record, I cannot hold that pace for even one mile. You're super inspirational, and no fuss. I love your style. Thanks for sharing your story with us mere mortals!
Absolutely insane pace to hold for 50km! Good luck for St George!
This was fun to watch! You put in a great effort. That you did it as a training run is amazing. I'd like to see you in a Hoka ultra marathon event!
crazy effort joe. just amazed by people that run 3:33 pace for any extended period of time, especially 50k.
Great video and these challenges are fun and very inspirational. To throw a challenge out like that away from your Ironman goals and to record that time is incredible!
Amazing! love the way you'll have a pop at anything! keep going!!!

Fair play! Thats a mighty fine run in what looked like fairly poxy conditions.
You made this look so easy that it felt like a regular long run 🙂. Such a fresh approach to the sport it is both humbling and inspiring.. I will be cheering for you at St George. The hilly profile of the bike course and the run play to your strengths.
Incredible running Joe, I don't think Harry has trained since ;)
He has, but he was a bit moody 😜🤣
Keeping average HR that low for that distance at that pace is incredible. Well done Joe!
Warrington way ultra is a good one. 40miles circular route around Warrington, Cheshire..
You should try a few races Joe, great fun.
Congrats. Great work.
You are a special person Joe.
Super Inspiring.
Not to shabby Lad 👍 Roll on St George
Can’t wait to see Joe take on a 160km trail run like Heather Jackson. Bet the tune will change on what’s the hardest haha. Hell of a job man!
Absolutely mind- blowing Joe 💪
Awesome effort, some pace that for the distance 🙌
Awesome video and great running!

Major kudos for that fella. Mega impressive
That’s amazing joe! 3:36 is by best 10 k pace 🤣. Interestined to know but do you think all your swim and bike training as a cross over effect onto your run performance as you said you didn’t do too much specific training for this goal?
Yeah definitely I think that helps a lot.
That's just awsome!!
Beast! Doesn’t even look knackered when finishing 😭
Amazing Joe 👏 👏
That's just ridiculous, awesome mate!
Absolute Machine!!

Great speed!
Phenomenal!!
AWESOME!!!!!
Monster !
Brilliant 👏. Absolutely hard as nails
So cool i have always wondered how fast a ironman athlete would do 50k and 100k ultras as they are used to training for such a long time.
Fair play mate, that was some effort 👌🏼
Awesome performance 💪 What shoes did you wear?
The hoka carbon X3. It should be out very soon.
@@joeskipper91 trampolines I think! :)
Does it count as ultra if it's under 3 hours? I thought ultra was ultra long and slow!
Techno Viking !!
Joe what’s your body weight? Loved the video.
Around 80kilos mate.
Epic video 🤩 what a day
Awesome
Nice one joe 👏
No limits baby
Impressive!
I also use Dre's 'Still D.R.E." to motivate myself. Funny coincidence
What an engine. 3.30’ for 3 hours. Bloody hell.
Really surprised you don’t run much over 30k in training with you doing a lot of Ironman training , however it obviously works with you , that’s a really strong run for 50k as well imagine you’d be close to 2:25 ish for a marathon with some specific work
I’ve just seen that you went through this is under 2:29 so maybe even closer to 2:20 !
How
How is the recovery going?
Eat - sleep - repeat 🤩
Beast
Is Joe Skipper on the spectrum?
Machine
Great video again, can’t believe you didn’t man up and run back though! Do you have an open strava account?
Tempo Skipper

2h42m... Approx 3:15 per km 😳
Average heart rate 145. What?
Just a short little jog to Mom and Dads.......
Will Hoka be bringing out a Sub 7 Limited edition and can you get me and 1,000,000 other people a discount?

Ha ha technically isn’t anything over a marathon an ultra?
