I am devastated to learn that my favorite RUclipsr has left us. I am 68 years old and Jennifer had a profound impact on my life. I was a reader of the classics earlier in my life but had stopped doing a lot of reading subsequently. Because of Jennifer's enthusiasm, intelligence, and passionate interest in and zest for life, I read eight classic novels last year, some of which she had recommended. I felt better just knowing that there were still people left in the world who appreciated these works of art the way that I did. I felt hope for the future after having listened to her. I am so glad that you got to go on that last trip to Rome with her; I loved those videos so much. She will remain in my heart and in my mind, and I will continue to read the classics largely due to her influence and memory. May she rest in peace. Love and hugs to you. My heart hurts with this horrendous loss.

I am speachless.. I was wondering for a long time, why wouldn't the algorithm suggest me new videos of Jennifer.. But today after rewatching some old videos of hers I came across this message and I feel like the floor had been dropped from under my feet. I have thousand questions spinning in my head, like how? why? is there a mistake? is it a prank? anything to try and somehow explain the void that this information creates. It is odd to feel this way concerning a person that you have never met in your life. But this person filled a considerable amount of my time with fascinating moments and the thought of not being able to have more of these in the future pains me and makes me sad. How horrible it is to loose a daughter, a friend, a co-worker in the prime of her life? This is so strange, we are almost at the same age... I am thankful for the opportunity to come across Jennifer in the virtual realm and I am sorry for everybody's loss of her. Sending love from Germany :(

I'm sorry for losing your beautiful daughter, Pam. I just can't imagine-I'm 60 years old and I am devastated by losing a friend I never met. Like everyone else here, I am in utter shock. Jennifer was a beautiful, funny, intelligent young women who inspired me to read Dante for the first time. I was in awe of Jennifer being so young and so deeply dedicated to classics in general, historical fiction and non-fiction. What range of interests she had. I have bought new to me classics based on her recommendations. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about Italian Renaissance Classics that she held my attention because she was so interesting to listen to when teaching me about her favorite Italian writers. Her enthusiasm was infectious, her critiques thorough, and her sense of humor shone through. Victober, K-Pop, Wilke Collins, Vikings, the Romantics, Ancient Classics, fantasy fiction-she was loving them all and I came along for the informative ride. I'm going to look for and rewatch the first and favorite video of mine, one from about three years ago that hooked me with her humor, when she was showing her favorite classics editions; she mentions how she likes her floppy books, books with plenty of room to annotate in the margins, and the book that's not going anywhere-you could throw it in your bag and it's protected because it's so not floppy. Pam, I'm so sorry. She will be greatly missed.

It's been about a week, and I've been trying to figure out what to say. I wasn't close with Jennifer, but we exchanged a few messages in her comments section. I was always struck with how she was both so knowledgeable about more esoteric events in history, whilst also retaining a love of current literary releases. Jennifer was the furthest thing from a literary snob that one could hope for. She mixed Roman histories with Shakespearean plays, then would cover newly released 'Romatantasy' titles with literary fiction featuring 'Unhinged Women' - a real favourite of hers. She was so passionate about reading, it was infectious. Watching her videos made me want to read so many previously overlooked titles, and I always felt like I was in safe hands when taking on board her recommendations. I still can't believe that she's gone. I watched her '24 Books for 2024' video, as well as the one she did laying out her new reading journal for the upcoming year, and it's a real gut-punch to re-watch that knowing that shell never get to read the titles she was looing forward to.
At least, not in this plane of existence. I like to think that in the next life, she's being assigned the role of librarian to all souls, fulfilling her desire to get everyone together with the exact right book for each of them. Jennifer was a truly beautiful soul with a mischievous sense of humour, a wealth of knowledge, and the most gorgeously inviting Southern accent/voice. I'm going to miss her a lot, but am grateful for every video she made for us over the years.
Shine on, wherever you now are Jennifer and thank you for the short time you chose to share with us all. You were the real deal. One in a million.
My deepest condolences to her family; I hope in time you may all find your way to watching her back-catalogue of videos, and see just how much she brought to the reading community.
    Love

I did not know Jennifer personally, though I have been a subscriber of her's for quite some time now, and would occasionally comment on her videos. If my memory does not fail me, I think that I found her channel while looking for content on Dante's Divine Comedy. I had a hard time finding many booktubers who even made videos discussing classic literature, and far less who did so with any level of sophistication. Jennifer was a shining exception to this!
The first thing that I noticed about her, was that she was exceptionally articulate in an age when that is all too uncommon. Within just a few sentences, I could tell that she was not only very intellectually bright, but that she also had excellent taste and judgement, and she had the requisite skills to communicate that taste and judgement with great clarity and precision. Beyond my respect for her intelligence and preferences with respect to art and history, I also greatly admired her enthusiasm. In the aforementioned video on the Divine Comedy, her love for the work was nothing short of infectious.
I am so sorry that she is no longer with us. If any of her loved ones happen to read this, you can take comfort in knowing that Jennifer made a lot people's lives brighter, in spite of never having met her. I pray that God comforts you in this time!

Has there been any update on what happened to her? Her pastor said that her mom found her in the morning and that she had passed away. She was so young. It it's too private, I get it, I just can't stop wondering - she was so young.

Her friend Christy Luis made a video about how intrusive and awful we all were for even asking. If you ask her now that she’s put up a memory book video months later, she’ll delete your comment. I guess we still are awful and don’t “deserve” to know. Unfortunately, that leaves it to the imagination, which I think is quite disrespectful to Jenny.

Jennifer was such a wonderful person. Her enthusiasm and passion truly impacted me: her videos kept me company when I was lonely, her heartfelt interest in history and literature rekindled my love for my degree, she suggested great books and she tought me about many thing I previously knew near nothing about. As she ofter said you don't follow a person on youtube just because you like to read the same books but because you like them as a person, due to a sense of affinity. She was kind, intorspective, funny and creative. She will be trully missed. I was always excited when a new video of hers was uploaded and I never missed one of them. I'm grateful that she shared her interests and snippets of her life in her vlogs with us. And I am glad that you were able to travel and visit Italy together this autumn. I urged my suster to go and see the elephant statue and the forum in Rome because of how smitten Jennifer was with them.
Pam I am heartbroken about her passing away, you are not alone in your grief. Your daugher was a beautiful person and she will be remembered. Condolences to you and to all your family

I’m just floored. Like so many have already shared here, Jennifer was a real light in this community. Her earnest, passionate, and straightforward manner was something really special. I loved how she refused to let herself get boxed into a genre and just read and shared her real thoughts and feelings about all of it with humor and sass and vivacity. Her voice was unique and will never be replaced. Sending heartfelt and heartbroken prayers to Jennifer’s family and loved ones.

I was a silent viewer until now. I came on RUclips after a rough day and could not have foreseen a video like this in a million years. I had to take a moment because I just stared at the screen with tears in my eyes, rereading this over and over, hoping I misread something. I can't believe this. Pam, I'm so, so sorry for your loss💔. I can't imagine how you and your family are hurting right now.
Jennifer was one of my favorite RUclipsrs, and I've been watching every single video she posted ever since I found her channel. I'm completely devastated to hear this. I don't even think I've ever commented on one of Jennifer's videos (I'm mostly a silent listener), but I truly feel like I've lost a friend.
Jennifer has been my favorite BookTuber for years. I've consistently found her comments to be articulate and intelligent. Even though we have very little overlap in our reading, her passion and enthusiasm for books made her videos delightful to listen to. She has always felt completely authentic and honest and has never been afraid to say she didn't like a book, even a classic, with a confidence that is inspiring and refreshing. For me she is the authoritative BookTube voice on Italian classics and Wilkie Collins, and she has convinced me to pick up several books purely because of how much she loved them. She was never afraid to dive deep into an author's back catalog or try something obscure (like Varny the Vampire), which made her videos all the more fascinating and a breath of fresh air.
She's always come across as genuine and incredibly kind. I'm sure she was an amazing person in "real life."
Thank you for taking the time to break the news to us here on BookTube.
