I came across this video and felt it was a good way for outsiders to explore the idea of moving here if you’re interested in the south. I do want to mention that affordable housing availability is super low and that gives sellers the up and up to gauge the prices of homes to ridiculous prices for middle or lower class. Also investors have monopolized the market and pushing out people that were able to afford housing in areas like east Atlanta or southwest Atlanta. Investors then increase the prices of renting to unaffordable amounts. Thus pushing middle\lower class people further out which creates a problem with keeping or getting a job to sustain a household of 2 or more. As someone that has lived in Atlanta (OTP) for 25 years I feel I have true representation of the growing state. And wholeheartedly agree that it is still cheaper than comparable states. Thanks for the video!
As a senior and native Atlantan…. Don’t move to Atlanta it’s over rated, in my working days I traveled many places in the US and compared to the south it’s a big difference. Traffic is terrible, the people are rude because you have people from every where, Jobs are competitive your education does not matter over your race, Housing is horrible if you didn’t come before or right after the housing crash you will pay a fortune for housing..REAL TALK
Born and raised in Atlanta in the 1960s. There's nothing overrated about it. You either have it, or you do not. It's not that damn overrated, a zillion people moving here every week. 🤷🏽♂️
Moving too ATL from Ohio (Toledo) we still have rent for 700-1200 at the highest it’s a change paying this high rent and jobs don’t call you back. It’s difficult but follow your dreams if that’s what you really want.
Hang in there. When my husband and I moved to Atlanta from the west coast, it took us a good 4 years to get on our feet. We are finally doing well for ourselves.
They aren’t building anything truly ‘affordable’ for the former Middle Class.
