    New subscriber and first…congrats on the upgrade. I have been binging your videos and really appreciate your style/content and the journey. I am looking to upgrade myself and make sure I am never glued to the bank again. I am really looking at Old Town and Hobie. Thanks again for the great channel. Look forward to seeing you and your journey with the Autopilot 136!

      Appreciate you my guy! So far I’m loving the 136. It’s a beast but on the water it’s a monster. Excited for my first full season with it!

    Thing is massive. I'd definitely never go that big but it has its place for sure.
    I dig those rudder controls. Those are pretty sweet for sure.

    You got a ton of room in that baby.
    My Son & I bought 2 Old Town Salty 120pdl's & we've been out in 3' + seas here along the TX Coast (Gulf of Mexico) with no issues.
    My Butt puckered a few times when those cross waves hit but they are very stable.
    We're getting 4mph just peddling a regular pace in a calm bay.
    Wishing now I would've gotten the Auto Pilot, even though I have no issues with the PDL. I'm 52yrs old, never exercise & my legs have never been achey, etc. Old Town PDL's have some torque that's for sure.
    🤟 Tight Lines.

      Thanks brother! 3' seas would probably make me pucker up without the cross waves 😅
      The Salty is a great option for cutting through the chop though. Not surprised you get some really decent speed in those things.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hey Jay, great video! I have a bass boat but I want to get my first kayak, a mid level pedal drive. I'm still doing research, what kind of Kayak and setup does the F-Train have? Do you think that he would mind you doing a video of his setup? Thanks!

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Jay! Plenty of great options out there in that mid level range!
      F train has an autopilot 120, minnkota 106 and hobie PA12. He’s in the process of starting his own channel and will be doing his set up very soon. Keep on the look out as I’ll promote it on my channel also.

    That’s definitely a mini bass boat ( 660 pound capacity) there are a lot of small boats that don’t have that capacity. Can’t wait to see the gear you put on it.

    Hey Jay, it’s been several months but do you use your peddle drive or this one more?

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  Год назад

      Definitely the autopilot. The end of the day weariness is a huge noticeable difference. This thing is a tank but you’re not pedaling all day so it’s a bit energy saver.
      Thanks for watching 💪🏽

    Have you hit any submerged rocks or stumps with the trolling motor deployed? That's my biggest worry with this setup. What do you do in shallow water near shore when taking out? Do you need to use a dock? Sorry with all the questions, this is an intriguing option but want to know the cons ahead of time.

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  11 месяцев назад

      I’ve hit a few and it just pops the drive up. It’s pretty sturdy. When you’re approaching the launch you can retract the motor. I never launch for a dock.

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  Год назад +1

      Good call 😂 that would be Hella dangerous!
      Even in the truck bed, I'm not loving the loading/unloading process, however I have a lot more energy at the end of the day since I wasn't pedaling for 7 hours 🙏🏽

    How long does the battery for trolling motor last?

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  Год назад +1

      Depends how long the motor is going for, speed at which you’re cruising and if you’ve got spot lock going all day. I did a 8 hour day and only burned through have my battery and we went about 6 miles round trip.
