BANNED Royal Navy EH10 Merlins at RAF Eshott Airfield

- Royal Navy Merlins part of the Commando Helicopter Force were involved in a huge exercise at Eshott Airfield (Formerly RAF Eshott until 1944) involving Chinooks, Wildcats, Pumas and Apaches along with these 2 Merlins.
Sadly, recent Northumberland County Council decisions have made the airfield unable to host these flights during exercises and prohibit using the airfield for refuelling Search and Rescue flights when emergencies arise.

This decision has a real impact and restricts such operations to refuelling at either Edinburgh or Newcastle or outside the boundaries of a safe and well-run airfield.

Yes it was indeed mate. Sadly one we will not see again.
Cracking video, miss the Navy Merlin display from Waddington, the way they'd throw it around was stunning.
