Paddle shifter, CVT trans. shifter mods look nice, but I have a problem. I seem to have an extra floor pedal and this strange shaft that sticks up, from the center console surrounded by a leather boot, that has a knob with a diagram of where the gears are. Any mods for me?
My first question is if you added any engine improvements that improve speed or handling. Second question: Why are you adding so many STI branded emblems to a non STI car?
I feel like changing intercooler and exhaust stuff like that which I wanna do to my crosstrek would have been better dan adding sti stickers and add ons
@@575empress there is no point to putting an exhaust on it. The car doesn't make any power. So why waste money on the exhuast. Good luck changing the intercooler let me know when you find it. My first actual mod besides the lights is a short shift kit because manual life. Then internals, then turbo. Then exhuast and intake. Making a car loud for the sake of being loud is a waste of money. Way more money than some stupid stickers.
Here's another cheap one that's worthwhile...DNA, washable, dry, cotton, hi-flow airfilter through Amazon for under $18US. By freeing up the air intake and bumping tire pressure up from 33PSI to around 35-36PSI, I can average 40-45MPG on my 50-mile commute. My 2016 CVT/2.0L Crosstrek is only EPA-rated for about 33MPG hwy. Here's another one...After you have 10K miles on your boxer engine, use a quart of Duralube or similar with every oil change. It might help you avoid the dreaded oil consumption as the mileage increases, as it allegedly provides most benefit when most wear typically occurs...during cold starts. Your MPG may improve even more too. You can also run taller and skinnier snow/AllWeather/AllTerrain tires, for better grip/clearance than the stock, 225-width, Geolandar AllSeason tires in snow. Watch the max load capacity and the speed rating.
Would have been nice to see the car in its whole, I didn't see what model and trim it was but I like your instals, I'm currently waiting for a 2021 Crosstrek limited in Cool Khaki Grey and am looking for cool cheap mods ideas
@@Looking-great Its all good fun, most people I talk to are pretty butt heart about the STI parts being on a Crosstrek. The funny thing, is that Subaru makes STI branded parts for the Crosstrek. We should all hate on Subaru for making STI parts for the Crosstrek right?
@@Looking-great So because the parts they make are limited means you cant have a badge? Conversations like these are why I don't do youtube anymore. too many idiots on here. I'm curious as to what car you have bud?
For the sake keeping it simple yes, they are the same car. There are slight differences, but unless you plan on changing your rear axle, they are the same.
Hi Subieguy, I noticed that you had installed a piece in front of the side mirror to cover the small window. This restricts vision forward and downward towards the front. Personally I like those particular windows on my 2019 XV (as the Crosstrek is called here in Australia). They remind me of the triangular windows on the original minis which looked pretty cool.
No hate to you for having an automatic. I do prefer manually shifting especially on my wrx but I can see the appeal of an auto and even envy it during bumper to bumper traffic. As a new follower, the crosstrek is looking nice and if I ever get one I’ll re visiting your videos for some inspiration but why do you need to have your parking breaks on if it’s an auto and doesn’t seem like you are in a incline.
For the same reason why in a manual you always park in gear. Shit breaks and you always want a second stop applied. Should your parking brake fail in a manual you should be parked in 1st or reverse, depending on the incline you parked at. In an automatic should your parking gear fail, the parking brake should be able to stop your vehicle.
Really liked your mod video! Q: Did you remove the tape off the paddle extension pcs... THEN applied the 3M tape? Or did you lay the 3M on top of the tape that came with the pcs?
Hey Subieguy, thanks to your info I have removed those ownership badges that were from the previous owners and also the dealership sticker lol. I would like to get me some crossbars and eventually one of those baskets like on the top of your car. The dealership quoted me a little under $200 for the cross bars. not counting install. My question to you is should I go with the dealership or does it really matter and are some better made than others? thanks
Crossbars aren't hard to install, just takes some patience. I saw a brand of rack/basket where I live- TYGER is the brand. If you don't care if it's a yakima or Thule Tyger cost much less.
I still don't understand why CVTs have paddle shifters. The whole point of the transmission is that it doesn't have gears, so what are the shifters for?
great video, I just bought a 2018 crosstrek, I like the carbon fiber peace you have under the door handle. I can't seem to find them online where did you get those? thanks
It's wild he doesn't even look like a normal Mexican.. lessoned learned don't judge a book by it's cover.. white looking as can be and boom he Aztec decent..
Love those mods! Where exactly did you get those red trim pieces for the door handles? The link shows the silver ones and I can’t find red (red is part of my color scheme as well) anywhere. And where did you cop that red mirror knob? Thanks!
I just bought a preowned crosstrek 2016. it has those little personalized stickers on the back ex: 1st subaru & etc. this is my first subaru but mine says 3rd with many other little squares. I'm not sure what they are called but i noticed in your videos that you have them as well. can they be removed safely? if so, how? any advice. thank you
Hi! Yes they can be removed, it's held on with 3m tape. Just give it a little heat with a blow dryer or heat gun and you can pull them off. Little tip, use dental floss to pry the badge off by sliding the dental floss between the emblem and the paint. These are know as Subaru owners badges.
This is the longest, most detailed, over explained video for parts that need no explanation or instructions
Im new to the car world so i really appreciate detailed videos like this. 👍

These aren’t mods, these are stickers.
each one adds 5 hp

It's a modification which means changing or altering the original so yes they are mods not engine mods but there still mods bud

GViking68 I have a 2019 Impreza hatchback with Sti badges because it’s got a fa24dit making 346whp this dude’s just tacky ash 😂💀

I can confirm, the sti badges add an extra 25hp and 20 lb-ft of torque. It now has a 0-60 time of just 5 minutes rather than 10.
Do Wrx STi’s have these many STi logos on them?? Seems like slapping Type R stickers on a Honda that isn’t a Type R, but I digress.

Can't believe you blacked out the window behind the mirror and therefore created a massive blind spot. That's gotta ce crazy!! 😵
That window is useless.
@@mattevans1643 Not useless if you're driving in Thailand and motor cycles are coming at you from all directions. It's very handy I can tell you!

Thanks man! I'm sure you will be happy with the parts!
Great video! Thanks for the upgrade tips & ideas. Definitely considering the Crosstrek as my next car!
