I bought the 5000 last year - it is amazing for what I personally maintain (for my sons lawn business). If I was to buy it again I’d get the 5005 as there are no roadblocks to any blade that might come your way. Nonetheless - Best Tool for sharpening lawnmower blades - period. The product quality is incredible and the sharpening is accurate - easy to do - and repeatable. Don’t look further - buy one of these. You will not regret it.
I just received my 5005 a couple days ago and set it up today. I have a new Ego 56V mower with 21" blades. I was using the mulching blade which came on the mower and today I sharpened all the blades and attached the high lift blade (for bagging). I am completely impressed with the ease of setup and use. Brilliant!!! I used the Oregon blade balancing tool and was able to have the blades 'knife edge' sharp and perfectly balanced in no time flat. I used a 60 grit flapper disc on my Milwaukee cordless grinder and it was all a joy to use. I encourage anyone looking at this tool to pull the trigger and get it. It is expensive but I can assure you that this is a quality piece of equipment that will last a lifetime...it is precision...and made in the U.S.A.👍🙏
Thank you so much for the generous compliment, Paul! We're happy that you're so pleased with your 5005, and are grateful to have you as a customer. Wishing you continued great service from your sharpener!!
I pretty much use ONLY one style cheapest 20' & 21" blades, if I give you the part numbers & MFG can you make a best recommendation from that?? Thanks, & I'm glade I found out about your design, I typically buy a new set at the beginning of the cutting season & start over with new blades the next. Cutting in Florida sand
Haven't purchased yet BUT the selling point with me is the blade is fixtured and the grinding object is set to grind perfectly, NOT allowing altering of the procedure

Sorry, we missed this comment at the time it was posted. Many Toro blades have a tilt or twist forward in the cutting section, requiring a 35 or 40 degree setting to match the factory bevel. For that reason, we would recommend the Model 5005.
We do not have a Canadian distributor yet. But we have heard of someone who buys from our US distributor on Amazon, and then sells it in Canada (through Amazon). So it may be a legitimate All American Sharpener. But after 2 markups, you would probably get a better end cost buying from our website and paying shipping charges along with the import duty and fees on your own. If you buy from them, it may be worth at least trying to contact the seller to make sure they are on the up and up. Thank you for your interest! www.allamericansharpener.com/5005
Yep. We recommend the 5005, because you will likely need a setting beyond 30 degrees (like 35 or 40). You may also need to rotate the left vise block to accommodate the more narrow blade on the Ego mower. Here is a link to a section of video showing that simple adjustment. Be sure to check the prices directly on our website. In other online locations, prices will be higher because they are sold by a distributor and marked up. We build these to the highest standards, with materials that will last a lifetime. And we build them all in our shop, machining parts and assembling each unit with our own hands. If you look around, you can find less expensive designs or copies. But if you also check the reviews, you will see that their quality does not hold up. Our sharpeners give you results that compete with systems that cost at least $500 and up. Thank you for your interest!
We're grateful to have you as a customer. We are firm believers in the adage "you get what you pay for". Our commitment to quality materials, workmanship, and customer support and service, along with a lifetime warranty are the difference between us and the overseas knock-offs. That commitment will still be standing when the others fold.

Thanks, Ken. We very much appreciate your support and business. And we're happy to hear your 5000 is serving you well.
One of THE best investments I've ever made.
Ah, that's great to hear. Thank you!
Absolutely love the 5000! Works perfect on my craftsman blades.
Awesome! Thanks, Joe!

Very informative video. I’m buying a new mower this spring, once I verify the type of blades it has I’ll be ordering a sharpener from your company. 👍🏻
Sounds good, thank you! When that time comes, if you have any questions, just let us know.
Love my 5005
Thanks, David. Glad to hear that!

So would you recommend the 5002 for DIY homeowners running standard blades found on Toro Recyclers and/or Timemaster models?

If I buy this off amazon in canada is that a legit seller or is it possible it will be a knock off?

I purchased the product a few years ago. Great! But now I see I could have saved over $120 by waiting, and buying the knock off from amazon.
