Super random but if you want to use your kindle at the beach I can recommend putting it in a see through plastic (zip) bag. The touch screen works totally fine and this way it doesn't get sandy, my mom always reads like that on vacation :)
I used that bag recently and agree 100% about the bottom zip. Undo the toggle so it becomes one bit compartment as opposed to two. Still super easy to access :)
I have no plans to go backpacking but still find these videos fascinating! Packing items with the tags still on gave me the ick! 😂 I’m so excited for you & Tom, can’t wait for the Aussie Diaries! 🙌🏻💜
Hey Molly, if you have any extra room I would pack some winter clothes and an actual coat. Especially if you end up staying in Melbourne, Canberra or Hobart which tend to be the coldest places especially in winter. I live in Victoria and it was 10 degrees yesterday where I live. And to the rest of the world Australia is not always warm! So check the weather if you’re coming.
Agreed! Unless they’re going to be in the far north over winter then a coat, jumpers and a warm hat is a necessity 😂 Leave half those bikinis at home and bring warm clothes!
I'm from Gippsland and i was thinking the whole time watching this that's she's going to freeze 😅 Especially with all the rain and flooding the East Coast is currently experiencing.
We’re planning on following the sun around really and living where it’s warmest tbh, if we do settle in Sydney/Melbourne more long term I’m just gonna buy stuff over here as it’s easier than carrying it during the first 2 months while we backpack! Xx
Are you going to buy some warmer clothes once you're in Aus? It does get pretty cold here and we've had so much grim, rainy weather!! Can't wait to see your adventures 😊
That's what I was thinking too Sydney is only 18 degrees today and raining . Perth is nice at the moment but she isn't coming here yet or if at all:) it should warm up soon but it's taking its time
I’ve packed a hoodie and travelled in another hahaa but mainly we’re planning on following the seasons around and staying where it’s warm - if we do settle in Sydney & Melbourne for longer we’ll just buy stuff over here as it’s easier than carrying warm/heavier clothing around for 2 months while we backpack!
the Sunscreens in Australia are regulated as a medical product which explains the regulations for Sunscreens in Australia. Bondi Sands is Australian, Sun Bum is from the US
I had that bag too and the bottom was a nightmare for me as the zip is so awkward! I ended up opening it out and just loading from the main zip and leaving the bottom locked the whole time!
Hi loved the video. I just got my WHV approved. I’m planning travel in April. I’m wondering about luggage.. if I take a backpacking or luggage with wheels.
We’re spending half the time backpacking & half the time living and personally just find this easier, especially for the hostels and the travelling on/off buses!!! It’s not really the vibe or as easy and accessible to have a suitcase but it really is just personal preference!!
@@MollyThompsonx_ yeah, tbh it makes a lot more sense taking a big backpack! Plus you've been to Australia before and you know the vibe. Since you're gonna be traveling around a fair amount, it would be a right nightmare to be lugging suitcases round! Even if it was just a holiday, having everything in one large backpack is so much easier 🎒🥾 🇦🇺 🧳☀ 🌊 🏖
They're off amazon, here's a link!! www.amazon.co.uk/Luckycivia-Plastic-Headband-Hairband-Headbands/dp/B07VQ6GDJN/ref=sr_1_14?crid=1053SW7WGOCHS&keywords=spiky+headband&qid=1668159721&sprefix=spikey+head%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-14
Are you planning to buy more clothes and things out there for next year when you settle down? I think I'd need much more for a year abroad but I get your travelling around first.
Yess when we live somewhere most likely but I think coz we’re doing half and half it won’t be too much more, we’re gonna aim to follow the sun around so hopefully won’t reallyyyy need any warmer clothes!!
@@MollyThompsonx_ Haha! Good on you! It’s been a while since I packed a backpack for year. I am one of those that starts well but collects along the way and has to ship stuff home! Enjoy every moment of the adventure.
You definitely can do this but a lot of GPS won’t prescribe stuff for a full year but if you take a UK prescription to an Aussie GP or walk in centre they’ll find you the same prescription/medication that you can pay for here!!x
I hope you had a safe journey, excited to see what you get up to 🥰 if you figure it out could you share a curly hair routine for while travelling, my hair will be the end of me 😆
Omg I didn't know spf 70 or 100 sunscreen existed 😱 Like honestly I'm shocked I always thought 50 is the highest there is like I usually use 30 in Europe and I'm actually so pale😂

Exactly! The summer clothes would be good for QLD or WA but it gets cold here in the south

Are we getting a family reaction video for when you told them you and Tom were going?
Yess!!! Coming Saturday 👀✈️💜
Would love to see how Tom packed lol....Next trip you should do a "Pack with Tom"
some more hints and tips - Priceline is similar to Superdrug and Mecca is our main makeup store similar to Space NK
The Osprey backpack is amazing, I've used it, and it opens up like a suitcase in two halves :)

I hope you will have or having a good flight right now :) Since I think you said your flight was at the 14th?
Having now used the backpack how do you rate it. Looking at buying it
That black embroidered top is quite cute, which brand is it?😍
Ah I love the new intro graphic!!! I assume this will be for the next year 🥺 hope your travels are going well xx
Ahhh thank you so much!!!
Hi loved the video.

I though if she was going for long she’d take suitcases and stuff cuz it’s not backpacking ?
Same!

This video was so helpful! Where can I find the hair bands please? X

What shoes will you wear on NYE with your blue dress? X
Lol I thought that too
I’m probably gonna buy some hahaha, if not: converse😅😅
Did the liquids have to go in plastic bags at the airport ? I’m looking to travel and literally have no clue lmao x
Backpack sydney to cairns,great trip

15/16 kg in a backpack is heavy! I don’t pack that much in a suitcase!
It is heavy but for a year it’s not reallyyyy too bad when I usually pack about 20kg for a 2 week holiday if I have free reign of a suitcase hahaha
@@MollyThompsonx_ Haha! Good on you! It’s been a while since I packed a backpack for year. I am one of those that starts well but collects along the way and has to ship stuff home! Enjoy every moment of the adventure.
This is such a stupid question, but with medical prescriptions, does anybody know if you can get them a year in advance?😂
I did this same visa and got a years worth of my prescription from the uk to take with me!😊

Definitely will update this in the vlogs but I’m currently using the LEE STAFFORD curl range!! Xx

Products can actually only claim a maximum of SPF 50 in Australia! It's really well regulated here 🙂
Can you're boyfriend do a packing video ? 😂 I'm confused what to take but I'm a man 😂
🥰🌟💕
😘💖💖❤❤
Hello beautiful 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
