One of the hardest things for me when I was first learning was finding/coming up with things to work on or make, and staying motivated. You can only learn so much from example code, the real learning starts when you break out and write your own stuff. One thing I found really helpful was doing coding challenges/ctf programming challenges. Having a clear starting point and end goal really helps motivate you to learn, and you can just Google your ass off to learn your way to the end result.
Totally agree. Walkthroughs/tutorials will show you the basics but, the real learning comes in when attempting to create your own solutions/apps.
@@AndrewRoe Yes. I think a big part of why you learn more is you have the opportunity to make mistakes and fail when writing your own things, as opposed to just following along example instructions. Never underestimate the power of failure!
