I graduated from PSU. I'm 76 and I am sad and angry that these people are destroying property of the very centers that we need to understand what is going on in the situation in the middle east. My heart goes out to the people in Gaza and my heart goes out to Israel and the unprovoked massacre that went on in October. I don't think the war is wanted by the regular people on either side. It's politics and so why, one might ask, are we fighting each other on college campuses in the US? I wonder if there aren't some outside influencers which have other reasons to make all this mayhem. We need to get a grip on our emotions and take a breath and offer ideas and perhaps solutions. Why are the campuses being targeted? Ask yourselves. You might think of reasons which are perhaps the machinations of a group of people to whom it is all important to have power and money and will do what ever to hide their goals. Don't be fooled by the unseen planners and used as pawns in stirring up mayhem at the expense of our PEACE. We were protesting in the 60s but we were not destroyers and we were protesting for peace. Perhaps I'm just too old to understand the ways of today but as I think back to all the hours I spent in my beloved library at Portland State, I am angry and I am frightened for you my children of the future, Don't break your universities. Cherish them.
it was not unprovoked though it is a tragedy. If a small amount of damage to some windows and walls is what it takes to bring attention to this so be it. I am a PSU grad as well from 2021
@@EhyehShaddaiYHWH I'm not convinced ,my child of tomorrow, that there was a small amount of damage, or that destroying computers, and writing ugly things on walls, and breaking windows etc. is doing anything but destroying the credibility of your arguments. I might be missing something, lord knows, that my little grey cells aren't what they used to be, It just doesn't make sense to me that mayhem will make anyone change their minds.

I dont know if its good or bad, but I do know that what they attempting to call attention to is a matter of importance to us all and our nation. I tried to get some coverage of the war on all 4 local stations to no avail 3 months ago. This actually got everyone in the country to pay attention. I do know that there was massive support for breaking up the vietnam war protests here and students are usually on the right side of history. thanks for your response

I miss mounted police, but every now and then I'm glad we don't have a pasture full of police horses getting messed with like this.
