- MAC gets new seats! Here's why these are better than my Sparcos. Plus they weren't too expensive. Also there's a special guest this week, Cory from Rennen.
If you want to learn more about how I mounted these FIA style seat mounts to my car watch this video here:

Hats off to you Tom for taking the time to do it right.
Thanks I appreciate it. This car isn't a garage queen. These seat mounts won't be seen again but I know I can trust them and they work.
Thanks Tom great seats' i like houndstooth because period correct and great value 👍🧡
More great work Tom. Well done. Love the seats. Hope you get that 3rd gear issue resolved.
Thanks Jeff. I'm developing a habit of keeping my hand on the shifter, ha ha.
They look sooo much better! Awesome work as usual. 🤘
Thanks!
tom, congratulations on those awesome seats! i wish i had a pair in my car. and as always, you did a fabulous job on those seat mounts.
Thanks Benji
Tom! You just took Mac up a level. I love houndstooth seats. I plan on getting BF Torino seats as well. I'm going to go with the Le Mans style. That was a lot of effort on those seat brackets. Looking forward to seeing what the new shirts look like.
Thanks Rodney. I'm really happy with the new seats.
I'm not 100% sure they are BF Torinos, but they look the part. These aren't labelled anywhere.
New shirts are cool!
Looks great! Love the hounds tooth
Thanks! You mean pepita? Ha ha
Great looking seats and they look sort of period correct for seats from the 70's.
Thanks. The Sparcos are popular with the Mustang and Japanese import crowd.
I totally agree that these new seats are more period correct and just Porsche correct in general.
Like Rodney said, it's just a little level up. More of those levels to come!
I have BF Torino in my grey car. They are great, and very affordable in comparison. But...to get in touch with the guy in Italy wasn't the easiest thing in the world. :)
Popping out of third, may be the shift coupler is not pushing the shift rod in far enough. Try 1-2mm length adjustment on the rod, or slide the entire shifter aft a little.
Thanks John! I've tried several adjustments to the coupler to no avail. (Both big and small). Also tried various small rotations of the coupler.
I'm thinking the shift forks need adjustment inside the box.
I bought another transmission to rebuild while I continue to drive this one. Another first for me, so stay tuned.
This is really great, that bracket you made was fantastic. May I show a screen shot or two of your seat height as a reference in my next video if I credit your channel on screen? I’m about to install some cobra classics in my Covin (kit car 😬) 911.
Thank you and yes, no problem on referencing my this channels. My email is on the about tab if you want better images or video
@@GarageTimeAutoRestoExcellent thank you 🙏
Look awesome, period correct and great price can’t go wrong 👍
Exactly, I couldn't pass this deal up.
Tom ,Nice job on the seat brackets, The seats look like they belong in that car. You have and eye for the period correct look . Now you just have to get four center caps for the wheels and the exterior is100% complete ...
Thanks! A few more items like window trim, are window rubber, windshield wipers, bumper trim (maybe), soil cooler grill, refurb decklid grill, and probably more. Oh, haven't cut and buffed the paint yet either!
Thats a a good deal. Looks awesome
$300 net
Looks good. I have questions.
Do you not use eye protection while plasma cutting?
Is there some technical reason for the 911 leftward offset of the seat?
Yes, I use tinted safety glasses.
The offset is for driver to passenger elbow room.
I’m looking at these for the 930 since I hate the flat feeling factory seat. My question is would I fit in them as I’m a bit, well, husky. I’m between a 36 and 38” waist depending on dinner
Ha ha, I'm a 32-34 waist and there's some room left. Gotta eat more.
I will say that these are much harder to get in and out of than the sparcos, but once you are in you don't want to get out. They feel great.
Where are you located?
@@GarageTimeAutoResto I’m running corbeau classic II in my 914 and they are similar. Pain to get in but fit great when I’m there. I just wanted a bit better seat in the 930 and these look great in your car
Cool, let me know if you want any measurements. Happy to do it
@@GarageTimeAutoResto really appreciate that
