Dang! It’s Christmas time for big B! I now have a face to put with the voice too. It helps to understand new electronics seeing you learn as you go big B. Thanks Maybe FPV is in my future as well 👍
I actually enjoyed every minute of this upgrade. I've been looking at some new runcams for some of my faster boats so I can run them in first person with the goggles on
Hi. I wanted to ask you. I have the same bite and the same camera. I connect the camera to a 7.4 1800 mAh lipo battery but the camera system overheats a bit. I would like to know which one you use.
Bro, that is so cool 😎 😍 👌 A totally different kinda upgrade for you buddy, but what a game changer! Well done to the subscriber who sent that to you 👏👍 This could be the start of a new dimension to IRONCLAD RC videos 😄
It's definitely worth looking into if you run boats in large body's of water, I've been looking into the fpv technology trying to familiarize myself with the terminology? It's alot to take in lol. Hopefully I can get an SD card for the goggles so I can record the rescue footage. Very cool set up
@@IRONCLADRC maybe leave a parts list and a “at your own risk, you are learning with me” disclaimer! I love the way fpv puts you in the driver seat. Little slow rc cars and boats become insane fun! Fun tip, you can grab an extra set of fpv goggles and take people for “rides”. I used to do this for my drone so they could experience without crashing my rc! I have the same goggles and loovvveee them! Thanks for all you do! I ALWAYS recommend your page. Big love for big b from the big apple!
Hey Big B have you ever experimented with sanding the hull of the fast boats? I've been reading it might make a slight difference. I think some racers do it. Might be to minimal for the effort?
My Deltaforce 35 has a sanded bottom. I used 2000 grit fine sand paper & I've recently done my v2 sonicwake but I didn't use sand paper on the v2 I used magic eraser (Mr, clean magic eraser) to lightly scuff the bottom basically knock the shine off. Right after I did it I got my pb with the boat. Basically do it to all my boats
Very sweet setup man, We were kayaking yesterday and I was certain that I sunk my sonicwake V1.. I had the 4514 oxidean on it and went full throttle and hit a log that i didnt see. boat took off like a rocket and made the loudest bang noise, i was sure the hull cracked but got super lucky... The whole battery tray that is glued or epoxied on from factory completely sheared off, im debating on using hothglue or some type of cyanoacrylate. Any suggestions big B? On a posititive note... she was ripping like crazy until she got airborne!
I did basically the same thing but the problem with this setup is there is no switch to shut it off. You have to take the wheel house on and off. That chip board gets hot and wondering what the heat would do inside the wheel house.you would have to leave it unscrewed whe your using it or just leave the battery connection out side so you can plug it and unplug it when not in use. But still Kool tho. I did benched try it. I'm going to find a way to hook to the main supply lipo and go from there
@@IRONCLADRC that's a good way. I may try that so the battery is in the engine compartment. In fact the more I think about it that's a real good idea. Thanks for the tip.
A little advice. Try not to leave the video transmitter powered on when not in use. "The little module" They get really hot and usually get air flow to cool them.
@@IRONCLADRC exactly what I was thinking after I saw where you installed it. It's a great spot for keeping things dry but also means no air flow. You could wire in a switch to turn everything on so you don't have to fiddle with the canopy. Also didnt see you do it but never power on the system without antennas. They provide some heat sink and resistance. Can't wait to see a rescue!
I Did this last year to mine waaaaaaaaaaay a head of you ! Ha Ha !! Beat ya !!!!!! And I got rid of the combo ESC reciever pice of junk ! And put in a Red Cat Transmitter & Reciever it gets better Distance ! Try it Dude !
I've got a few brushed escs I could throw on her when the stock electronics let loose but until them I'm gonna let her dig. Took the fpv out today worked great for my test run

Going to test it out now. gonna have to redo to set up of the battery situation so I can permanently mount the wheel house but other than that it's freaking awsome. Thanks
@@IRONCLADRC no problem dude , should work fine for its mission. lol. maybe one day i can get down there and zoom around with ya , only 2 hrs drive. lol if proboat does a kit i want props or a tug . building a fountain express from scratch probably 12s setup . see how my modded sonic wake compares to the new one. my gps says 76 with 3 blade cnc prop and 9200 pack. she screams. need intewebs so i can upload some vids. no such thing where i live just phone
Gotta say, as great as tug boat for recovering flipped boats sounds, the pipe idea, although effective, suck balls! 😂 Why there is no articulating boom with a magnet on a string, that would grab any magnetic metal on the boat, or a hidden magnet on the Hull bottom, and haul to shore this way? Ironclad, get to work!
Now THAT is something ProBoat should consider. One of the big issues with rescue boats is seeing what you are doing when a long ways away. FPV solves that. Be certain to tell your contacts at PB about this idea. 👍👍
Good job big b ! Gonna b real nice for recovery . Cabin view way better than standing on shore view!!!!!!!!!!! Nice 👍
Definitely gonna be using this set up at the river (speed run spot) I've almost lost a couple boats due to long Range recoverys
It's Wonderful Idea Of Putting FPV In A RC Boat.

Fantastic idea B. Been thinkin about FPV'ing a boat for a but of fun but this is a really useful application for it, awesome work brother ❤️❤️
How does the tug handle small wind waves and chop? Would love to see some video. I'm considering getting one but have a mile of fetch.
Wow nice setup for the camera spot
I just did this to mine last weekend. Thanx for the idea big b 👍
It's a fun upgrade for the horizon Harbor.

Yeeeeeessss!!!!! BG BABY! that’s so necessary!
U are the best %100 I enjoy ever video u have and I’ve learned a lot, keep it up bro
200mw is perfect for that setup!
Going all high tech on us I see
What happen to the water cannons on the top?
I removed them to make room for the antennas. She's a work boat lol
How about links to all the FPV? Excellent video!!
I didn't leave links because I didn't wanna lead any one the wrong way. As you saw I had no idea what exactly everything is

G-flex epoxy may work on the polycarbonate? I know it works on abs, what ever you use just prep the area lightly sand with 80/100 grit sand paper.

I ran my battery wire thru the bottom of the wheel house and velcro the bayery under the main hatch

You could use some radio range extender. Speedracers use such hardware to control rc's.
I wi definitely look into it. Thanks brother
The package aays it will work on 2s or 3s--- is it worth even trying on 2s
I've run it on 2s it's fairly slow 3s is the sweet spot

Thanks. So I may need to incorporate a little cooling fan into the setup? Thanks again

Not much of a light/led guy, so I may not be the best person to ask about lighting. Wish I could help. Thanks for the support BG4L
