I was a child in KY on April 3, 1974 when tornados ripped through KY and my home area. I saw cows wrapped around trees. That was an amazing sight. They are brutal acts of nature.

This is unbelievable so many houses are destroyed just going home from work dozens of ambulances and police cars driving by me. These poor people who’s houses were destroyed my friends family coworkers so much gone (edit) guys please stop telling me it wasn’t an ef5 I’m well aware now I said this at the time we didn’t know
It hasn’t been rated yet, but it’s for sure an EF-4, perhaps EF-5. Winds registered at 230 MPH in Elkhorn.
@@djamo1969 ef5 strength has to be 200 mphs
@@Dante56890 Sure, but surveyors also have to find damage to EF-5 damage indicators, ie well-built homes that are down to the slab. The 2013 El Reno tornado has wind measurements of 296, but it didn’t hit a damage indicator and was downgraded to an EF-3.

This tornado had a massive debris ball signature on radar at this very town, the likes of which I’ve only ever seen with EF-5 tornadoes. It was one of the most perfectly formed tornadic supercells I’ve ever seen on radar as it went through Blair, NE.
I have no doubt it’ll be rated an EF5
