Thrice fans are very unique. I've been listening and they've been my favorite band since before Artist in the Ambulance came out. There are no vanilla Thrice fans. It's either they're your all-time favorite band, or you've never heard of them. There's no in between.
I have to attest to this. I missed the Thrice bus during my emo phase. I had one haunting piano song among the thousands of songs I ripped off the internet. I am rediscovering them now and I feel like I missed so much. I feel like these guys are your favorite band’s band.
Gotta agree there. I found Palms randomly on Spotify and went backwards with the albums, and fell in love with each and every album. (Maybe Major/Minor was a bit weak for me, but all in all I loved that album too)
Artist in the Ambulance hits differently now. Around 8 years ago I was saved by one these artists. Drinking heavy and on anti depressents and that mixed with the muscle relaxers i was on. I ended up taking everything. Full bottle of anti depressents. Full bottle of muscle relaxants. I must have blacked out. Next thing i remember is waking up in hospital 5 days later. When i woke i was informed that i was in a coma and that i stopped breathing on the way to the hospital and they had to give me a tracheotomy on the ride to the hospital. Also had to do dialysis every day because partial liver failure. 98% recovered now. Memory loss and slurred speach is all that remains of that day...oh and a damn circle scar on my neck. Im very self conscious of that scar. Full liver recovery. Years later Artists in the Ambulance played on my playlist. I just broke down. To this day, i tear up when Artist in the Ambulance plays. I dont like talking about this. Everyone assumes i tried to kill myself. If I wanted to be dead, id be dead. Thanks to these awesome bands that make awesome music.
Whoa, be careful with that, the emotions are real and we're getting older, man :p I'll probably save it for next year now that I finally completed the 1st watch (I usually prefer standalone songs and different artists' stuff instead of 20+ songs by one in the row). Don't want to get bored of anything by listening to it too much, that's something I usually fear/keep in mind.

Teppei is ELITE. The Dark is a song you could easily say "screw it let's add a piano backing track in the chorus" but Teppei just says "nah fam, I got this" and goes back and forth between a sneakily complicated main riff on guitar to an intricate piano line in the chorus, and back throughout the song. It's actually unreal how talented this band is.
Thrice is one of those bands that you see live and you go "damn. They sound EXACTLY like they do on the record." And that somehow doesn't even do it justice.

Brilliant set. Setlist is outstanding, got into them with To Be Everywhere but missed them last time they toured the UK with Refused, can’t wait to see them for the first time next time they’re here
