Correct, but after stepping on the kitchen line (like in this video) in order to hit a volley out of the air you must reestablish your footing outside of the kitchen
The 1st thing I noticed. But I never thought about jumping over and off to the side of the kitchen. 👍 after going LLWLL, now I'm WWW feeling no pressure with the win streak but excited to compete with more knowledge.
That’s the position EXACTLY that makes me think about cross court. A quick flip of my wrist and your sneakers are squeaking across the court to keep up LOLs.
Here's the way to counter that erne. You will see them starting to go. Just flick the ball out at where they are going to land and hit them with the ball.... Works every time. You don't even have to hit it hard.
Hey, when you talk about these people moving *AND* making a shot, you might as well be talking Greek to Martians. The entirety of this sport can be summed up in the net to net dink warm up drill most tennis players do before a match. No foot work. No shot variety. No strategy. The fact that they think this shot is unmakable tells you the level of skill/athleticism of the people playing pickle ball..
@@tyrone-tydavis5858 Obviously it can be done, but if the shot is slightly behind the player and they are reaching behind them slightly, hitting it back cross court, almost back past their own left leg is very unnatural. They will likely go for the much easier shot dinking it down the line not expecting this Erne attack on what would normally be a safe option. Kind on rude to suggest there is no foot work/strategy/shot variety. It may not have the same foot work etc as tennis, but there is a lot of movement and strategy and arguably a wider range of shot techniques needed than tennis. A moment's thought would tell you that if nobody was applying any of those skills to the game then any tennis player could turn up and dominate everyone immediately, which hasn't happened. So presumably there is a lot more skill to the game than you are appreciating.
@@mattc3581 You can't be serious. You clearly know absolutely nothing about tennis. You're comparing the equivalent of putt putt to golf. Try that and see how fast and how loud you're laughed off the golf course. Footwork in picklball. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.....try sliding on concrete as you're hitting the ball just in the hopes you stop in time to get to the next shot. Let me show you simple pickleball is..... I can hit you 15 different serves in tennis and that's not taking into account the varying speeds....which the prosare hitting at 150mph+. Grounds strokes in the mens games are 100mph+. Pickleball is nothing more than the dink drill advanced tennis players use to warm up for nothing more than to get the feel of the ball. For you to think there is a remote possibility that they are comparable in anyway is truly nothing short of laughable.
Maybe not that high, but the only trajectory for the ball to take is up! Unless they somehow hit a perfectly controlled dink while leaning over that far
@@philosophiabme that's not true you can easily hit it back to the middle or a low dunk what I'm saying is if you watch he purposely pops it right up to him going for the ernie
@@ColeRusselPB If you have jumped across the kitchen then you can take the ball only a fraction after it crosses the net, it doesn't need to be very high at all over the net for you to be able to volley it down past them.
@@mattc3581 yes I’m aware just was pointing that out also it’s very difficult to hit a ball that is basicly on the net because you will touch the net unless you hit it purposely with the side of you paddle like a trickler
Explaination: yall are acting like you arent allowed to step in the kitchen. You can be in the kitchen whenever you want. But when you hit the ball in the air you cant be in the kitchen. He hit the ball when he was in the air and landed on the outside. Therefore it did count. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG BUT POLITELY PLEASE!
You are wrong. You must establish both of your feet outside of the kitchen before hitting a volley if you hit it in midair. If one foot is even slightly in the kitchen when you jump, and then you land way outside the kitchen, you would still lose the point. I do mean this politely and not to be rude, but It’s probably best if you don’t try to make explanations when you don’t actually know the rule.
The guy with the ball cap lost the point. He stepped into the kitchen before his ernie. I guess things were moving too fast, no one called it.
Violation. 😢
Good catch, he totally did.
You can go in the kitchen you just can’t hit it in the kitchen.

I like to do a lob when in this situation…it’s such an easy shot and turns a defensive position into an offensive one.
He stepped on the kitchen line on purpose so everyone would comment and get that juicy engagement haha. Well played
SWEET TIP!! 😀
As a tennis player I know for sure it can go back cross court. Unlikely but very possible
With pickball it’s different, the ball doesnt rly bounce from the racquet like it does in tennis, so its harder to generate the power
It can happen, plenty of people do that on both the Ernie and the dink, but it’s more challenging
You’re definitely right but people only do this strategy in doubles where the other person can cover the rest of the court
That’s the position EXACTLY that makes me think about cross court. A quick flip of my wrist and your sneakers are squeaking across the court to keep up LOLs.
As expected, another great tip, Conor! That said, unfortunately, it looks like you may have stepped into the Kitchen but I totally get the intent.
And yes he did clearly step on the kitchen line
He jumped outside the court so he wasn’t in the kitchen which is allowed
@@claraaaaaw - You're wrong. He stepped on the kitchen line with his left foot before he jumped outside the court. Need to look at it again.
Guys he did it on purpose for more engagement 😂 it works every time
@@wswegerI thought it’s fine to step into the kitchen as long as you don’t hit the ball while you are in it
So good teniss
That placement is the exact placement I do a speed up roll cross court or down the center and it catches alot of people of guard.
Your videos are making a huge difference. Keep being confident and making tons. Cook while the oven is hot baby.
That's the plan!
Foot fault!🚩
You can go in the kitchen you just cant hit it off bounce
Ernie at the end…CLASSIC!!👌

From a different perspective that right foot becomes leverage for a pushoff back to center.
Do a slow high lob instead when your opponent pulls you out far to the side.
What are some routines you can do by yourself when you dont have a partner to pratice with? Training to go pro
Kitchen violation
As a tennis player I would lob if I was getting targeted at that corner.
And remember boys and girls, don't step on or over the kitchen line as shown here.😊
A BETTER tip.
When you see the guy move hit the dink to the Middle and WIN the point...
Thoughts on Paddel?
I like to believe people who play this never heard of or have no access to padel courts
I can easily put it in the crosscourt if I was in his position.
It could just be me but it looks like you are in the kitchen on your Ernie.😬
He jumped outside the court so he wasn’t in the kitchen which is allowed
What's an Ernie apart from a Muppet?
As a tennis player… you can definitely go back cross court easily. Do running forehands have no affect on this game? 😅

Dink rally rarely happen in singles
When you in a *dicking* situation😂
He was over the line when he was making his way over to that shot, is that legal because he was planted in a different spot before hitting?
I think you mean scale the kitchen and fault.
your first step was in the kitchen
Yes, I noticed that too. He's in the kitchen!
The guy who hit the ball lost the point
FAULT!
Foot fault
as a tennis player this will not work on me
Great video! Perfectly explained
That’s a good loop
In a what situation ?
Your foot hit the kitchen line sorry 😝
You can be in the kitchen line
Real pickleball players never volley in fromt of the kitchen line

Bro you have to let the ball touch the ground before you hit it
Yeah or he just angels his wrist just a little bit and just plays it crosscord which he "can't" and you have no way to reach it...
Uhhh no... That cross court is hella easy.
why the hell would you put the ball there?!?!?! So wrong. Cross it. PERIOD.

Scale the kitchen. LMAO
Smashed into the kitchen.
next to "grown adults playing a little kids tennis" how to transition to real tennis.
What about you transition into a likable person? Nobody gives a shit about you tryna gatekeep sports big man

Been around since the late ‘60’s.
Or just play tennis where the rules make sense
