Same here. My first car was a 1969 Chevelle SS396, bucket seats, console, M22 rockcrusher 4 speed. Only thing was, this car used to race at Dover Drag Strip in NY. Another guy, who restored cars, bought this '69 SS396 and re-did it. New suspension, brakes, tires, lots of stuff he did to this car. Put some money into it and in the process, rebuilt and installed a 400CI big block from a '70 GTO Judge. I also knew the guy who owned the Judge. He had wrecked it some time before I bought this Chevelle. Low and behold, the guy I bought the Chevelle from also had bought the wrecked '70 Judge, rebuilt the motor and put it in the '69 Chevelle. When I bought it, it was a dark green, like forest green or midnight green. I had the car repainted Rallye Green which was a '69 or '70 Camaro color. Thing was, this was in 1975 and the '69 Chevelle was only 6 years old at that time. Back then, no one cared about correct paint codes and such so, I had it painted the color I wanted, back then. What a great car! The fun summer nights we had. Lots of memories. Still miss that car to this day. And yes I would buy another '69 SS396 Chevelle in a HEARTBEAT if I had an extra $40,000.00-$50,000.00 laying around. What did I pay for my '69 SS396 Chevelle with a newly rebuilt '70 GTO Judge 400CI big block in it?? $900.00.
First choice for the babe next to you action. Back then girls sat next to their BF. But yeah, buckets and shift console at minimum otherwise. Four speed from those days was choice.
Air cleaner lid is incorrect...should look like this.......www.speednik.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2015/07/2015-07-08_13-40-02.jpg And BTW, that spare wheel is NOT "overboard" in any way. 1969 SS396 Chevelle's came stock w/(5) 5-spoke Kelsey Hayes Magnum 500 wheels...including the spare.
Love those rare colors also. A keeper.

I'm sure it's a 325 hp.
Nice looking car! Which 396?
I guessing the 325 horse. That would explain the air cleaner. F-41 suspension and the bench / auto with the 325 h.p. motor?
HOW MUCH $$$
Too bad it is not a 4-speed with bucket seats.
