Been driving OTR since 2014. I never blindside if I can help it. It's not worth the risk. Also, be careful backing up to larger curbs or you be replacing the mudflaps on your trailer.

Good job Dave. My dad drove before GPS and cell phones....i remember going with him a lot and listening to the cb and the midnight trucker on the radio at 2 in the morning..
A couple tips when blindside backing use the passenger bunk window and your power mirrors to keep track of your trailer. Get your prepass mounted on your windshield.

I don’t trust myself driving those trailers but watching your videos makes me think about wanting to try it. But honestly, I would definitely drive otr in a box truck or some kinda straight job. I DO drive and deliver motor homes across the U.S. Pretty decent pay, and no worries about weight.

I cover my rear facing camera up with a piece of electrical tape. I also cover the microphone. I leave the camera facing outside uncovered.

I don't know if you've learned this yet, but you want to always take your gloves off before you touch your truck... especially the inside. Don't want your handle or steering wheel covered in diesel. Have fun out here, driver.

Here's some professional advice, get a mount for your camera. How much do you trust them with your body worn camera? You gotta learn sometime, I've blindsided into tighter spots, it's called patience and practice.

You know how sleezy companies get away with invading your privacy with a camera, because drivers like you allow them to. Why would you ever work for a company that doesn't trust you? CFI is more concerned with the bottom line, they get a significant savings on insurance if they install a camera.
Because all the big starter companies have them and I have no choice? Lol. Trust me I’d rather not and when my year is done I won’t.
No, there's plenty of decent companies without cameras. I shouldn't judge, but it pisses me of when these huge companies tell newer drivers this crap. I understand, you're doing what you need to do right now.

The good thing is, even if you never do another motorcycle vlog, (which I’m sure you will sometime) You don’t even have to change your RUclips user name! And just a recommendation from a local Long time subscriber, sometime I think it would be cool to see what your day is like after you turn off the truck at a truck stop. But don’t bring the cameras in the shower with you! And no lot lizards and/or glory holes!
