Yes, it touched me as a creator diagnosed with Autism and the struggles not being understood nor believe in me. That episode made me cry. That's why I fight as a creator to inspire those like me to pursue their dreams.
It honestly sucks. Even with mental health/disabilities being more talked about, there are still moments of ignorance. As a kid when I'd tell my peers I was autistic, they'd always say, "but you don't look/seem autistic." as if we look and act the same.
Something I love about this show is they’re not trying to depict that all autistic people are like attorney woo and that not all autistic people are high functioning, they’re showing all sides of autism to audiences who don’t know much about it
True, I think they're showing the opposite, that not all autistic people are "low functioning" they can have stable jobs and get married and have their own families. No matter what they deserve respect.
It's a nuance that US needs to work on. My brother could already read at 3 and is already multiplying at 5 but will shout random things that he remembers and likes, he honestly could be on the spectrum and I love him soo much but I don't Believe he can translate an alien language just by looking at it and be called the next step in human evolution. Why is it that whenever they have to depict someone in a minority, they have to be superhuman now and they can't learn something they're just naturally an expert.
I don't know if you knew this already, but the kid who plays Woo-Young-Woo's younger self also played Park Yeojin's daughter from "The Glory", and you might've recognized Woo-Young-Woo's dad from "All Of Us Are Dead" as he played Onjo's(the main girl) dad!
Because of this show South Korea has made some changes to their courts regarding how they view autism spectrum disorder and how it is treated. They also changed a law that they made about schools partially due to a later episode.

Since Su-Yeon and Young-Woo went to school together I think when Su-Yeon sees Young-Woo in the cafeteria talking to Joon-Ho she might think he’ll get annoyed and lash out. She might have seen it happen in law school. I don’t think she was jealous, just slightly concerned for Young-Woo.
The acting in this show is crazy good, and the acting from the son in this one is so spot on. This is a very different type of kdrama, they tackle a lot of issues with the way things are in their culture and country. Take this with a grain of salt because I'm Vietnamese and not Korean. Mental illness is very hush-hush in Asia so that's why the parents don't want others to know their son was suicidal. In Vietnamese culture, if a child does something "wrong" - even if they're an adult - it's considered a reflection of the parenting they received. So it kind of explains why the parents wanted the blame to fall on their autistic child. Since he's not a "normal" child and they can't raise him like other kids, it's easier to blame the death on him, rather than have others know that their eldest was mentally ill AND have people think he died by suicide because they're bad parents.
I know Vietnam and Korea are two very different countries. It's why I wrote "take this with a grain of salt" which is a saying that means believing part of something, or this may be incorrect. I was trying to understand the parents' feelings from my culture's perspective. But thank you for giving the Korean perspective on suicide and mental health since I wasn't aware. @@코코팜-e5v
