WWL Duty of Candour

Duty of Candour (Regulation 20) came into force in November 2014. Duty of Candour requirements apply to all ‘notifiable safety incidents’ resulting in moderate harm, severe harm, the death of a patient and prolonged psychological harm which a patient has experienced or is likely to experience, for a continuous period of at least 28 days.
Duty of candour is a requirement on all health and adult social care providers to be open and transparent with patients about the care and treatment they have received.
