  • Remember that revolutionary compound Urolithin-A I've been raving about? In this episode, we dive even deeper into this cellular powerhouse because, trust me, it's THAT important!
I'm joined by Chris Rinsch, co-founder and President of Amazentis, the innovative team behind Mitopure.

    On this episode you’ll learn:
00:00 - The surprising perks of pomegranates for your health - and the best ways to incorporate them into your diet
4:00 - The different types of health-boosting -biotics and how each one uniquely enhances your wellness
13:00 - Why only 14% of us have the key bacteria to fully tap into a major health enhancer - and what you can do about it
15:43 - Simple strategies to boost your mitochondrial function and strengthen your bones and muscles with minimal effort
17:50 - The secrets of mitogenesis and mitophagy (and how these processes hold the key to extending your lifespan)
25:00 - When you should start considering taking Urolithin-A for optimal benefits
27:00 - The shocking connection between cognitive function, mood disorders, and mitochondrial health
28:30 - The breakthrough supplement I take daily - and how it works to support your immune system
32:40 - Hear my personal journey of turning back the clock on aging and regaining my hiking vigor from 15 years ago

This company making the important Urolithin A product are like the pharmaceutical industry. Making the cost of the supplement too expensive. Making it difficult for those who are not financially stable to afford it. Great to know it is not possible for those who could not purchase it.

I looked into this as well, and how ridiculous! You would think that after you have worked out your production Kinks, and you've settled on the formula, you can find a way to make it cheaper but of course they're just leaving it for the higher income folks. Tried to order some to Canada, and the shipping was more than the item, making it more unappealing unfortunately .

Really interesting discussion. I have been doing calorie restriction and intermittent fasting for the last 9 months and have lost 25 pounds and I have never felt better. I have a comment about trekking poles. I live in a very hilly community and have been walking up and down hills for 30 years. Last year I started using trekking poles, not for balance, but because it used my upper body and arms more than just walking. I am 77 and attribute a lot of my good health, leg strength, no aches or pains, to walking up and down hills. I listen to Dr Gundry's audio books everyday on my walks. I can probably quote a lot of things verbatim. I am a believer. Thank you Dr Gundry for your continuing research and sharing what you learn.

Yes, it is expensive, but how much do you think it would cost going the regular medical establishment route? A drug company would alter this in an insignificant way, patent it, and charge many, many times more for it. If it works, it is comparatively cheap.

I'm sure there are many other types listed in the Bible. I would like to add that the trekking poles used by the Europeans may be for descending better but what they really do is provide that person with a better, all over workout. This is why they use the poles. When I used them my arms and shoulders and back were all engaged as with my legs. Using the poles is hard work. If they provide a benefit when coming down, great. Take care.

My biggest reason for the occasional use of HMB and one not touched on here is Luecine spikes the blood sugar and HMB doesn't hardly move the needle on the glucose scale. Dissapointing that they didn't know any better. That being said, the protien and creatine uptake might be better with a slight glucose spike. I guess it might come down to what your goals are.

But but it's precursor comes from fruit and plants that carnivores say don't want us eating them... there 's a reason they're here. Cows don't eat pomegranates . By the way yellow raspberries have the most ellagic acid by far, pomegranate juice second. However your gut microflora must be in balance to make the conversion. I'm sure they will say the supplement is healthier.

Yes it gets through because it's pre-formed. It's a postbiotic so it by-passes any potential gut limiting factors such as microbiome.
What's more, your urolithin a making gut bacteria will increase naturally by taking this compound....so that is a bonus.

Thanks Dr Gundry, so one should stop taking Resveratrol, CoQ10, & other longevity supplements & take Mitopure (or other certified brand) instead?

For guys that took it, what was the taste of the powder?
I got some cheap Urolithin A from China (35$ for 100g) and it tastes kinda like Furacin/Nitrofurazone which is also yellow. So now I'm thinking was it fake or not

I would not trust anything like that from CHINA.I ordered mushroom supplements and it was SOLID RICE HULLS.I opened them up and looked.Someone told me that right after i ordered. They were right.they were also cheaper.i was hoping it would be mushrooms but it wasnt.

BEFORE I listen to this entry? I posit the question...WHY would someone, age 76 years, wish to live longer? . . . in this current world of wars, strife, hunger, murders, poisoned food products (Roundup), pandemics, etc...after living through assassinations, bombings, terrorist attacks, gun violence, and ongoing political deceptions? .... I personally? do NOT wish for 'longevity'!!! and certainly will not expend my limited financial resources (SS) to foster this supplement. I HAVE purchased and taken your product (Total Restore & Lectin Shield) with no noticeable improvement in my post-covid episode (4/23). I also purchased your book - The Plant Paradox . . . interesting theories, but now being challenged and refuted by others...."Dr Gundry"? go back to heart surgery!!! where you might do more good...sigh.
