    This is awesome! I purchased Publisher Rocket back in December and have been spending a lot of time redoing and updating key words. Spending many many hours doing key word searches had kinda sorta had a general idea similar to this form in the back of my mind but I was hesitant to try it because it was counter to the “group wisdom” in the KDP larger community. Oh no, I was waiting for you to give us an example. I have bought your publisher rocket, and absolutely love it. I had selected a category in my mind that I was confident was going to rock, but when I used the keyword rocket I saw that there is a lot of demand, but also competition is extremely high and for an unknown author, that is not the best category for me to start with. So I REALLY appreciate the software and how it has helped shape my strategic decision. I might circle back to this category later, but not to start with.

    My clarify question for this video, "Do we use the text box for only ONE long tail keyword phrase - OR - can we include two long tail keyword phrases in one text box?"
    If Amazon reads each of the 7 Text Fields as BROAD searches, then WHY use long tail keyword phrases in the 7 Text Fields at all?
    Trying to understand by putting ONLY one long keyword phrase per box is helpful to RANK for that long tail keyword or not.
    Thanks for your video channel. I feel it's one of the more reliable resources when it comes to KDP.

    Probably the clearest info to date on keywords, cheers!
    I have a question though, I've just created a book aimed at "for him" ie for women buying for their male partners, and narrowed down all the keywords from the Rocket results to suit (for him, for men, for husbands, etc) But the same books are appearing on other Rocket competition results for "for girlfriends" "for wives" etc.
    So they must have put all the 'female' words in the back end as well as the 'male' words, which to my mind is diluting the 'male' ones which I think you said in the video we should avoid. Do you think they must have chucked them into slots 5,6 &7? I'm trying to be more focussed on my keywords as I think I have been too vague in the past trying to catch as many eyeballs as possible.

    • @Kindlepreneur
      @Kindlepreneur  4 года назад +1

      Could be. Or it could be amazon indexing them for it anyways testing to see if that works well as well. When a book starts showing that it is getting sales and succeeding in the Amazon store for its target keywords, Amazon starts automatically indexing you for more terms.

  • @Bhavyo
    @Bhavyo 2 года назад +1

    Why not put your main keyword for a book (which is a also phrase cause it mostly is more than 1 word) in just one box if it gets a litte bit more priorty? As i understand its a little bit different than that you advise here with filling out 1 to 3 boxes with a phrase.

    Okay, here’s what I don’t understand. Amazon says you shouldn’t use Amazon categories as your keywords because keywords are basically just metadata and Amazon already has that particular metadata firmly in place for you. So if you put your book into, say, the Fantasy category and the subcategories Dark, Epic, and Romantic (and I understand you can get your book placed in up to 10 categories), how is it helping you to use those as keywords? I understand plenty of people search for “dark epic romantic fantasy”-but if my category selection already puts me in these searchers’ path, is Amazon misinforming me as to the utility of using those words as keywords, or what?

    • @Kindlepreneur
      @Kindlepreneur  4 года назад

      From my experience, it doesn't hurt to have them in both (so no penalization) and I've only seen rankings for the keyword increase. More importantly, like i show in the experiment, the words in your 7 boxes are used to form more phrases and combinations. I didn't see this effect include Categories.

    Thanks for your amazing and informative videos. For AMS keywords do we have to consider singular or plural word? For example, if I want to use "Children book about lion." do I have to also use "Childrens book about lion.", "Children books about lion", "childrens books about lions." as keywords?
    How about wrong spelling? Are these factors affect AMS ad?

    • @Kindlepreneur
      @Kindlepreneur  4 года назад +1

      Yes, the more options you give Amazin in AMS keywords, the more opportunities it has to show you to shoppers. And don't worry, you only pay Amazon when they show your book AND someone is interested enough to click on it.

    This is very interesting and a question I would never ask (thus) I would call this Hijacking or HACKING and of course others would call being impossible.

      Considering that it is in line with Amazon's information on Meta data, I wouldn't call it hacking. But to each their own.

    Thank you! For example: lined notebook for husband. Should I use "for" or just put a phrase "lined notebook husband boyfriend him man men" in a slot? Thank you!

      Like I said in the video, I’d that particular phrase is a great one and you truly want to target it, then put that exact phrase.

    Great video, Dave. Two questions for me, please? Through the SPF course, I learnt how to put together keyword phrases. I have researched some of my own through Publisher Rocket and come up with a few phrases with one different word in each. For example: Historical WW2 family saga and Historical war family saga. Is it okay to use both and the other combos I've come up with putting them into my 7 keyword boxes, or should I only be sticking to one? My second question, when a keyword or phrase has been entered into the Amazon search box displaying the search results, does the first book appearing mean that it has the greatest number of sales than the rest listed therefore Amazon awarding it's 1st place ranking? If so, it would then be pretty difficult to rank high if say 3000 books have been indexed for that particular keyword, right? Thanks Dave.

    • @Kindlepreneur
      @Kindlepreneur  4 года назад

      1. Yes
      2. It means that book is benefitting from that keyword the most. Does not necessarily mean that book makes the most.

    Great video, thanks for it.
    I have a quick clarifying question though...
    @7:55 you say, "Use 3-4 of the boxes..."
    Do you mean, use 3-4 of the boxes for variations on "Epic Fantasy Dark Romance"...? Like, Dark Epic Romance Fantasy... Fantasy Dark Epic Romance...
    OR, do you mean, use 3-4 of the boxes for other properly researched, related terms to Epic Fantasy Dark Romance and then use the rest of them for general terminology?

    • @Kindlepreneur
      @Kindlepreneur  4 года назад +1

      Yes, use the specific phrase you want inside the 3-4...and don't try to fill those boxes up with more words or characters.

    • @ErickMertz
      @ErickMertz 4 года назад

      OK, so in that example, the terms in those three to four boxes would be as varied as EPIC FANTASY DARK ROMANCE in one, DRAGON WARRIOR DUNGEON in another, repeating nothing, meanwhile in the other boxes is more chaotic and potentially repetitive?

    Thanks for your video! So I want to put the phrase "Blank lined floral notebook for women" in one of my keyword boxes but some of these words are already in my title. So should I include different phrases to put in my keyword boxes? Also, is it ok to put more than one long-term keyword phrases in the same box? Amazon will just re-arrange the keyword phrases like in the video? Correct? Sorry for all of the questions. Thank you!

    My novel "The Sight", doesn't show up when I search for the title alone. It only shows up when I search for my author name, V. H. Mizzell, or for my name and title combined. What's up with that? Customer support only responds with double talk.
