I played this when I was very very young and I didnt even know how to play it correctly but I thought this was a fever dream and I think about this all the time, man.
@@vendeconmiguel I was born in 89. I barely was in the 80’s but there can be people older than me who grew up with this back then when it first released
I remember I couldn't wait for 4th grade class to be over so I could go home and play me some Earthworm Jim. It's crazy how as kids you don't appreciate these awesome memories.
Everyone here having a nostalgia trip. Me too. Havnt played or watched this game in over 20 years. I can still remember the first level even though i was only 5-6 at the time.
I haven't been around at the time and even I feel a little nostalgic! I love playing classic games like this and hearing story's from them. When I was a kid I was exposed to a lot of ps1, retro Sonic and Mario games in the early 2000s.
I got this and Donkey Kong Country in 1994. Two of the best video games I ever owned in my youth. They epitomize the amazing time we had in the 90’s. Those were great times. Take care everyone!
Ohh God I remember this!!! It was awesome because I had it on the Sega Channel when I 1st played it. I remember my mother yelling at me to get off the damn game and do my homework!! LOL, And since I live in Chicago there was no better feeling than playing Sega Channel and then watching the Bulls play later that night!! And yes with Michael Jordan!! Those were the days and I am now 35 years old!! Imagine that!!
Me before thinking: This game is cool, but why is the Earthworm Jim shooting at birds? Weird target for an earthworm... Me, using brain: Oh, he's a worm. And birds eat worm--therefore, They are Sworn Emenies. My my my, this game is deep....
I remembered that I played this when I was about 23-24 years old, almost 30 years ago. I wasn't remembering any of it watching the video...until you got to Andy Asteroid, hit that speed boost, and Jim cries, "Whoa Nelly!". Now I have to find a video of when Jim yells out "Weeeee doggy!"
Yes, i miss playing good adventure games like this in the new gen consoles, ps3, xbo360, ps4 are jst crazy with games full of violences, wars etc...this is how this world is going man.
I remember getting stuck at 8:07 for the longest time cause I didn't know I had to jog the opposite way lol. I was so pissed finally my friend at school told me what I had to do, I couldn't get home fast enough to try it.
THIS IS A GAME I PLAYED WHEN I WAS MIDDLE AGED. NOW IM OLD. I THINK I STILL HAVE IT, BUT I REMEMBER SOMETHING ABOUT IT WHICH I FOUND ANNOYING WHICH WAS YOU COULDNT SAVE VERY OFTEN. I DID GET THROUGH THE ENTIRE GAME, BUT I DOUBT MY PATIENCE WOULD STAND UP TO IT NOW.
As much I personally think the sega genesis version is more of an improvement, I still love this version to this day and grew up with this one first as a kid
How could a forget the legendary space traveling, muscular super hero earth worm jim on here.He was very bad ass and pretty tough too even with his weapons and elastic powers with using head to swing around was pretty cool though.
I was really young when my older brother got this game. 1997 was when I was born so I had to be no older than 5 or so when I played it. I sucked at it... was very bad lol. I also played some games called Zombies ate my neighbors, Street fighter, and booger man. for Nintendo. We don't own any of these anymore.
While this game looked pretty and all, it used to be extremely bad for little kids, there was bad communication of what you saw with what these were supposed to do, for example the jewels and some other areas especially were confusing. Also another thing was that the game wouldnt save, if you lost (around the 3rd stage usually you might get stuck) you will have to do the entire thing from the beginning, as you can imagine for little kids this is impossible and it can create a bit of ptsd, personally I did not want to play games after I played this one. The stage where you get stuck is around after this one or the next one I believe.
It took me 28 years to realize @6:28 is made up out of the Haunted Chase Theme from Donkey Kong Country 2 and the Castle Theme from Super Mario World. Still one of my favorites and I would kill for a new EWJ
What an epic game this was . Funny , great gameplay and the graphics where way before its time . I had many happy hours of fun and guess what kids ......no microtransactions . You want an upgrade ,you earnt it
I was 6 when I played this and didn’t understand the controls enough to be able to get past the cow in the very first level, but for some stupid reason I kept trying to figure it out for the longest time
One time my dad showed me this and I was like wtf is this? and then I started playing and I couldn’t stop playing too bad I can’t play it anymore what a good game😞
me and the bros would be on this game for hours as little dudes lol vividly remember that "ayooww" sound he makes when he gets hit or something hahaha.
There's plenty of hard games these days. The need to play through an entire game in one sitting is artificial difficulty to extend short games. Besides, the SNES is generally remembered as having easier games than most old consoles >_>
There are some games like Earthworm jim where the difficulty is exaggerated. Admittedly, it is beautiful, but this game was originally made for children, it is far too difficult. I only managed to finish it on the PC version and on easy after a lot of practice.
i remember how young I was when my dad let me play this game on his ps3 all though I don't remember me ever beating the game like at all i was young TwT
I played this when I was very very young and I didnt even know how to play it correctly but I thought this was a fever dream and I think about this all the time, man.
Played this with my dad and watched him play when I was little. I'm only 24 now. I had an action figure and everything!

I love the sounds of games like this.
I was always hip to earthworm Jim and was always hip to WORMS, but never realized how much worms was influenced by the level design

You're being over dramatic, there are still games like this you just have to find them. If you hate the "violence" play Nintendo.
When you get scared, your friends and family would find it funny.
La música me deja loco! Este juego tenía un ambiente animado muy creativo, un clásico de la niñez.
Amazing thanks for posting this i played this alot as a kid

This was one of the best games on the Sega 16 bit…very bizarre and fun
