First of all, that’s not how he behaved last year. He’s a grown man stealing $150M from the Saints, and he threw two year old tantrums and called out other players all year.
Second of all, you can’t say “Yeah, it’s all on me,” unless you can produce. Maybe Brees or Brady could get away with that bravado, but not the Carr Brother.
Third of all, Brees, Brady, etc would never say, or think, it’s all on them. The Greats know it’s never “all on them.” That’s a huge insult to every other player and coach on the team.
They may say “That WAS all on me,” after a shitty game (instead of ranting about their teammate not catching a ball thrown twenty feet over their head and ten yards out of bounds).
But never pre-game or pre-season. It’s a condescending, disrespectful thing to say. He needs to worry about just stumbling through his job.

The way he handled the Henry Ruggs situation…. I like Derek as a human being. And he’s not complete garbage. I’ve seen him take on a lot of responsibility when he was with the raiders and I respect it. I didn’t like how he handled a lot of stuff last season tho. And it may have been fatigue and just dealing with folks in the city. That ain’t easy. He’s not complete garbage like I may have said during the season (I want to win dammit and sometimes I lash out) but he needs to grow some skin. He’s been accused of crying on the field after a sack. Then his family on Twitter shows why he’s like that with all the comments and blocks
If Kubiak’s system is anything like I hope it’ll be, he’ll play great. I just want him to take responsibility. Don’t throw teammates under the bus. And when you’re hurt, sit down
      I’m cautiously optimistic 😂

Good shit. I don’t think people realize that he’s never had a steady coaching situation nor a good OL. For him to say “it’s on me” shows a high level of integrity.

…. He certainly didn’t say that after he threw a pick 6 to Jessie Bates and went 0/5 in the red zone in the first Atlanta game.
Regardless, at some point the empty “put it on me” platitudes aren’t enough and we have to have actual on field results.

The Carr hate is absolutely justified by what he does on the field combined with his behavior post game. Other than his play, Carr is exactly what you want as far as the way he behaves off the field, his toughness and when things are going his way but the measure of a man is how he deals with adversity and Carr cracks in the moment then carries his happy ass to the podium talking about positivity and giving motivational speaker affirmations. It's condescending, it does come off as fake and pisses people off, especially when you do it right after a loss. If he wins, all of the hate goes away.

Him with Reids genius and KC's roster would be a scary combo.

Carr has been putting up top 10 passing stats year in year out while the run game has been mid to bottom 10, the defense was always ranked at the bottom while he was with the raiders, the saints had a top 10 pass defense but bottom 10 run defense. Got to have a balanced team, blaming carr for a teams overall success is so stupid and lazy. Put any of the "elite" qbs on any team with a bottom 10 defense and mid to bottom 10 run game I guarantee they wont have success. History proves im right the proof is there. Rodgers, brees, when they had bottom 10 defenses and rushing offense they had losing seasons and made the playoffs just as much as carr has when he had that on his teams.

Here’s the MAIN issue & conflict between people who defend Derek Carr (Stans) & people who hate Derek Carr (morons).
MORE than ANY other QB, the perception of Derek Carr does NOT match the expectations for Derek Carr.
Let me explain, most people in the Media & many fan’s believe Derek Carr is an “Average QB” & ranked somewhere around “the 15th to 17th best QB”.
    That’s the perception.
However, the expectation is that Derek Carr plays like a Top 5 to Top 10 QB to not be considered “Below Average” or a “Disappointment”.
    Don’t believe me?
In Derek Carr’s 1st season with the Saints, considered by many and everyone who thinks Carr is Average, as a “disappointing season” and “Carr didn’t play his best football all season”.
This may be true, however, here’s the problem, the Saints scoring offense with Carr improved from 22nd to 9th, while the passing offense improved from 16th to 11th in Passing yards and improved from 16th to 8th in passing TDs.
They were Top 6 for fewest INTs.
The Saints finished 9-8 on the season, tied for the 13th best win %, with a Top 8 points differential.
The ONLY way those results are disappointing is if you are expecting “Top 5 QB play from Derek Carr”.
If you’re expecting “Top 10 play from Derek Carr”, it’s borderline “meeting expectations”.
If you’re expecting Top 15 play from Derek Carr, he wildly OUTPERFORMED expectations!
This is the hypocrisy & contradiction that’s at the heart of the frustration from people who defend Derek Carr.
It’s also why people call Derek Carr defenders “Stans”, because I can see how it can come off that way, when you’re defending something, where the criticism is so biased and logically inconsistent!
If people who criticized Carr said “he’s a Top 10 QB” & that it’s disappointing he only played like the 12th best QB, that would be logical and fair.
You had expectations of a certain level of play and he fell short.
    Perfectly reasonable.
However, when the people who criticize Carr say “he’s the 15th best QB & he’s the 14th highest paid QB and he was disappointing”, when he played like, at the very least, the 12th best QB, by all the data, it sounds completely absurd!
The perception of Derek Carr doesn’t match the expectations of Derek Carr.
Derek Carr has to do ridiculously “heroic feats” to just obtain the perception that he’s “above Average”, like go 12-3, get MVP votes, set still standing NFL records or get a team who’s Head Coach resigned Week 5, & their WR1 killed a woman and her dog on the bye week to the playoffs, which had never been done before.
If he ever falls short of Top 10 QB play, he’s treated like the 28th best QB, it makes no sense!

Uh no, average is his floor. Outside of his rookie season, the worst he's ever been graded was 17th, and that was once. Every other season he graded between being the 11th best QB and the 6th best QB. So he's been nearly or arguably elite at his best, while being average at his absolute worst.
If Kubiak is decent and the OL manages to not be completely terrible, then I would expect Carr to have another pro bowl level season this year. He knows his WR's (a luxury he didn't get very often with Raiders), and will be running a system similar to the one he ran with Gruden.....where he played much better than what he gets credit for, bc the team didn't do well (teams that give up 30+ PPG on defense tend not to).

People find a way to hate on so called do-gooders. The funny thing is when you ask players that have played with Carr they all say he’s a great leader and guy. Amari Cooper was asked last year who his favorite guy he ever played with was he said Carr but if you heard the garbage coming out of the media when Cooper got traded from the Raiders they all said Cooper hated Carr.

I hate just calling him a phony without real reason. I hate thay sort of gossipy stuff in general that can tear down someone's reputation for nothing, basically.
Imo Carr is capable. We were spoiled after having Brees for so long so we have these huge expectations that *very* few people could realistically fill. Now, Carr did have some issues this past season with the red zone stuff in the middle of the season. The injuries may have played a role. But that issue was resolved. What matters going into a new season more than the middle of the last season is the end of last season, since that is where you're building from imo.
I'd rather Carr rest up after an injury than go out there and only be at like 60% or something, so hopefully with the competition we've got we have a capable backup QB in case he gets hurt again.

I'd love to see him have a pro bowl season, play efficiently, and get us to the playoffs. That would go a long way in shutting up us critiques and extending his career. NOW he comes to the Saints and although they have a good defense their offensive line is shaky and they have all rookie receivers because Glassman Thomas is never healed and Olave is just stepping up. Kamara had less than 700 yards and Hill kept getting injured. There were 5 touchdown drops in games that really matter. The ball hit the players right in their hands and right in the helmet. Those games were less than seven points. The Saints could have been 12-5, y'all are doing the wrong math. 😂😂😂

      @jessegardner134 4 месяца назад +1

Carr beat Saints with #9 in the dome too, twice if I'm not mistaken.
Cousins is Carr light. I've watched both QBs closely, and Carr is easily more accurate, has the better arm, and a much stronger arm.
The only reason cousins is currently looked at like he's a better QB then Carr is bc he had elite weapons in Minnesota......whereas Carr went from having the worst HC in NFL history in '22 to having the worst OC in NFL history in '23.
If Saints OL can manage to be decent, I think the they go on a run that lasts several seasons. They have all the ingredients outside of OL.
I also think Carr plays much longer in NO then 2 years. I think he eventually retires a Saint, with at least one ring and a much different rep then he has right now. All he's needed his entire career was stability and talent around him.....like literally every successful QB. Saints had to get a new OC, but Carr should play at a high level this season anyway.

The horrible thing is us as saints fans are wasting our time money and investments along with the players wasting their time health and contracts we need to be real about our situation especially the one Derek Carrs friend and prior head coach who drafted him put us in and its not the best situation to win but the best situation for them ! He spend his whole career waiting for everything around him to click into place. I've been there in aspects of my life, I'm sure many people can relate. But the answer is never for external things to change to fit you, it is to let go of your way of thinking and let life show you the way to get better.

The 2023 draft Dennis Allen should have drafted Hendon Hooker and properly set us up for success as fans, players on the teams and securing our future! It's the same formula that the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh steelers, Atlanta Falcons and other teams are doing with their starting QB and the back up ensuring that they are successful at this position and investing properly to find their QB this is what needs to be done to be successful in today's NFL! It's obvious that Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis have been making decisions to comfort Carr and putting all their chips on him when everyone already knows what both him and Dennis Allen are !

The raider as a team has been one of the most dysfunctional teams in the nfl and with carr being *mid* ofc hes not gonna have success when hes getting coach after coach. Thats y gruden was so important cause he actually stayed and stared his own thing there and it made carr and the raiders better every year. Then mcdaniels comes and just turns the raiders into the patriots and blamed it all on carr. So carr is mid but he def can play like top 10 qb during games. Thats just what i think and see.

      @jessegardner134 4 месяца назад +1

@@BrentonBannister-gc2pt1st off, only casual fans think QBs have records. Why? Bc literally any QB will have 4 or less wins if given a practice squad roster and bad coaching. Hell Brees had SP and still went 7-9 three years in a row.
Funny thing is, those defenses that Saints had from '14-'16, still weren't as bad as Carrs AVERAGE defense with the Raiders. So if Brees couldn't win with a defense that bad, how could any QB?
2nd. Carr has 4 pro bowls, and managed to win the accuracy competition vs all the other pro bowl QBs.....proving w/o a doubt that he belonged.
The only reason Carr hasn't been more successful and consistent in his career is bc the Raiders were a terrible team that kept bringing in new coaches. They couldn't draft, so the roster sucked. They only reason they were ever competitive was bc of a top 10 pass game. That's it. Unfortunately Carr had 5 different OC's with the Raiders, meaning stability was out the window. QBs who land with great HC's or OC's don't have to deal with that (coincidentally those QBs tend to be the most successful too). Instability + bad drafting = losing, no matter who the QB is. That's a fact.
If Kubiak is decent and the OL can manage to not be terrible, then Carrs reputation is about to do a complete 180.....bc Saints will be a powerhouse, and Carr will put up monster stats.

20:40. When Carr was pissed at Olave when he stopped running on the go route, that was 100% Carr's fault. Olave's route was a clear out route and he did his job. Carr should have hit Taysom on the out route, but Carr either checks things down or throws bombs half the time. If you want to tell your WR's something, do it on the side lines, not coming off the field were the cameras can see it.

    • @jessegardner134
      @jessegardner134 4 месяца назад +2

Uh, no. Olave didn't run at full speed to clear his defender out of the area, so his defender was still in the area to make a play on the ball when Carr was supposed to throw it. THAT'S why Carr got pissed. You can't half ass your routes, or that leads to jumped routes and pick 6's. Had that happened, everyone would have blamed Carr.
Carr said that he had talked about it with Olave several times in private, but he just kept doing it. That's what lead to Carr being frustrated and confronting him on the field. Once he saw Olave didn't run his route right, he threw the ball away.
It should be noted that Olave stopped half assing his routes after that, and the pass game took off.
So no, that was 100% on Olave.

That mistake was on Olave, what Olave did WRONG was there was a blitzing defender from his side, so there was no deep safety help on his route, Olave was supposed to see that blitzing defender and know that “alert” makes him the primary and the throw would be deep so he could run under it, since there was no deep safety help on him.
FYI, They’re called “alerts” in the WestCoast offense, the route may be just a “clear out” and the WR isn’t even in the progression, however, if the coverage rotates, to no deep safety help on that side, the “alert” makes that clear out the primary, add the blitzing player on that side and it’s not just the primary, it’s the “hot” route, meaning the ball has to come out quick and the QB will put a good amount of air under it to give the WR a chance to run under it, he just has to beat his man and it’s a possible TD.

The same exact thing happened to Stafford in Detroit, only Carr never had the luxury of having Megatron. In fact Carrsv stats with Raiders are virtually identical to Stafford with Lions, even breaking the same NFL records for clutch play. It's eerie how similar they are.
All QBs need a good team around them and stability to be successful. Like Mahomes, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben, etc. When given bad teams, they have losing records. They were just lucky enough to be on a team that didn't draft line morons every season, so they had the luxury of good OL's, weapons, and defense. Carr hasn't. Hopefully saints can change that....even if the OL looks super rough going into this season.

Honestly, a lot of the comparisons that you’ve made with Carr and the other QB’s such as Brady, Manning, Mahomes and etc when it comes to them talking down to their players fall short given that they’ve won, and have been consistent about it so it gives them a pass where other QB’s don’t get one. This will be Carr’s 12th year and what does he have to show for it? I get defending him, but if Carr was winning games and performing like the aforementioned QB’s, then yeah, by all means. Yet he hasn’t. I don’t agree with all of Florio’s takes, but the fact that Carr doesn’t hold himself accountable for his performances throughout the season i.e. Chris Olave and being thrown under the bus by Carr, and not the latter games when it doesn’t matter anymore. That and Dennis not holding his QB accountable as well. Anyway, Dennis and Carr have to show out this season or it’s over for them so that much is true.

I think the Carr situation is this. People liked him and even loved him early on. His likability created people rooting for him. So when he falls short he lets people down. So after years of letting people down by losing, regardless of the reason, turned love into hate. There’s a fine line between love and hate. Right now and last year I love Carr, but give me three more years of 7-9. And my fandom will likely change as well. The reason I explain it like this, is because he the Bermuda Triangle when it comes to figuring out who fault it is, for why his teams keep losing. Some could say including me, well his D sucked at the Raiders, ok, but Drew Brees had some terrible defenses but still won playoff games.. yea he’s not Brees, but he should be by now.

Carr is trash..11 years 0 playoff wins..of course we as saints fans have to buy into idea that he is going to be great this season but deep down we all know the truth...he's inconsistent and not a winner.. 7-10 here we come..

CARRBAGE FANBOYS WILL SAY ITS THE OLINE FAULT THE WIDE RECEIVERS FAULT AND ITS ALWAYS THE DEFENSE FAULT TOO 🤡

I think my fault is we compare Carr to Drew Brees. We always saw the rallies of pumping up the team and being supportive of teammates. I got use to it, lead with examples after examples.
Carr on the other hand threw bad throws that injured 3 Te's and at least 3 wide receivers also put the linemen and teammates down.
Also I am wrong earlier about not liking the 5th round qb pick ..the new guy shows lots of promise.

That whole thing was majorly overblown, all bc Thomas blew it up.
Carr was in a new (terrible) system, with all new wrs. No QB in that situation is going to be perfectly accurate every throw. Hell Mahomes throws "hospital" balls to this day, and he's had 1 system his entire career.

@@jessegardner134 not really, the sports announcers said the system of mahomes has changed due to the offensive coach change and the loss of hill and the former wr from the steelers. The chiefs were suppose to be on a rebuild year last year.
I agree with you he did throw hospital balls more than carr also the wr crew had the most dropped passes or one of the most dropped passes in the nfl. And it did also seem that mahomes did seem more lazy or less driven last season.
with kelcy, holywood and the new rookie and sky the system will change again. They will still have a great coach reid.
I agree with you carr had a lazy bad system with carmichael and should have been fired before signing carr , anyone paying attention could see that. Still 10 years plus experience and the overused excuse he doesn't get the system till the next year. Glad the saints didn't hire grudden, but hired klint instead.
He also shouldn't have played injured which also lead to the hospital throws but that i blame bad coaching, dennis allen and a combination of getting paid top tier money and trying to put it all on him. Also staring down targets before the snap.
It was also unfair of my expectations on wishing saints would at least win a playoff team, when they received the 2nd most easiest schedule in the nfl and the 1st easiest schedule in the history of the saints, yes I don't want to go back and have the expectations of the 'aints area.
It didn't help that poor scouting, draft picks, coaching in 2023 also offensive line does play a factor. The guy in another video said offensive line says it isn't a factor. They should have addressed the offensive line. Jafari evens and the other best guard and having one of the best centers at that time did play a huge factor. I think piere thomas and the team benefited greatly.
Carr will not only have a tougher schedule but the offensive line lost 3 starters i think, gained 1 due to the draft? klint's offense starts with the run.... and motions before the snap.
I don't have cable but i think the one game i saw he put the ball in each wr. evenly in a brees like fashion.
Carr was put between a rock and a hard place. Mismanagement of players is a factor too, for years putting players not in a position of their strengths, ohh but they can be multipositioned should not be the 1st priority.Yes we will have injuries saints are famous for that. But poor roster management is a factor.
Best wishes to the saints, just don't give us the propaganda of nonsense, like "Allen being one of the greatest coaches of all time."-Loomis

Car shouldn't be in the NFL and if it wasn't because he's a white Christian dude with a older brother that played in the NFL, he would've been gone a long time ago! 💯

Can’t use injury as an excuse for bad play if just the year prior you use that same excuse to justify not playing Winston and playing an inferior qb Andy Dalton.
