From personal experience, it's really hard to find foods that are just unproblematically pleasing. A lot of times I have to ignore a texture or a tang or I have to eat something fast so I don't think about it so much I can't eat it - idk if that's what he's thinking about, but this video feels like the few moments I've found foods that didn't have any problems and just genuinely fallen in love with them. Everyone deserves a person who will help them find happy experiences like this!! You guys really warm my heart.
I’ve never heard of Arfid before. It seems like he is able to control it or it does not affect him as much anymore? It’s surprising how he is able to try so many different foods easily. Are there different levels of Arfid?
Yeah I believe there are. Depends on what caused the arfid. Some people that got it from life threatening allergic reactions might have a lot of foods they know are safe for them, but won't try anything new. Some that got it from choking might just not eat anything they think they could choke on. Some are autistic, so it's more of a brain thing and might be easier to overcome. Also it can be treated, like anorexia or other eating disorders.
When I was pregnant for my last son I could not eat, smell or look at steak. (Which I love rare) after he was born I was right back to eating it the way I like it. He is now 24 and will not touch beef. Not even hamburger. Chicken and pizza all the way.
It's so weird.. i had seen some animals killed when i was a child, and now i have to hurry up and eat meat as fast as i can until my brain realizes what im eating. Once that happens, i can't eat any more... is this the same thing?
