- Welcome to the third episode in the daily log diaries. Today's topic focuses on the weekly spreads in the hobonichi cousin - how I use them, why I bother to fill them out in the first place.
this editing style in inspired by @MeganRhiannon and other artist vlogs. If you don't follow her already I 100% recommend you do

let me know how we feel about the voice over portions!
The voiceover is really relaxing, you have a great voice❤
They are fine! 👍🏻
I like that you use a combination of real time and voiceovers.
I love both the chatty and the voiceover part of this series. Please continue to make them. Your handwriting and your voice is so calming and inspiring at the same time that it wants me to do my morning planning with you. ❤❤❤
I like the voice overs!
I'm also currently in a planner crisis and am loving these videos! Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve been loving this series! Hearing your musings about what works and why made me think more deeply about my own planning system.
I am LOVING THESE, Lindsey!!!!
Thanks, Claire!
I really enjoyed this. Cozy and relaxing vibe.
Thanks, Sharon!
Loving this series I hope it becomes a staple
💕💕💕
First I need to thank you for your vidéo and for this serie ! And secondly I really hope that you will fall in love again with the cousin, because seeing your spread really inspired me for my cousin !
Thank you for watching! And I may just be 💕
I started watching your videos about 2 years ago and I have to say, seeing your doodle/art evolution is so cool ❤️ love the addition of water colors
Thanks! Sometimes it’s wild to see how much can change
your videos make me so inspired to journal and enjoy some peaceful moments for my day, thank you!
thanks for watching!
I REALLY LOVE THESE ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!
I love that the music isn’t too loud. Voiceovers sound great to me.
💕💕💕
I watched part 2 and then jumped straight to this one, and immediately thought of Megan - glad you mentioned her in your caption!
When I was younger and more traditionally busy I loved an hourly vertical layout, but now I *really* need a weekly + notes spread. I need little sections for things I need to research + buy, an alistair list (since I'll often be doing a little of a project each day for ones that have spread-out steps), random notes to remember, 'next week', etc. I was trying to make a vertical work in 2022 and essentially had to turn the entire bottom section into those various categories (minus the alistair), which drove me crazy.
Your section on journaling is interesting! I used to be very precious with my journaling, but have realized (actually somewhat due to Megan's influence) that all my random little thoughts about my interests/fixations are just as much a part of me as the 'deep' stuff. If anything my experience with my inner world makes up a lot more of my 'self' than a lot of the introspection, which often just ends up spiral-y for me anyway. I'd be interested in hearing more about your approach (without divulging too much, of course - you need your privacy).
I never thought I'd find myself squarely in 'team horizontal' but here I am (and in good company it seems)
I think with my journaling the morning pages helps me get the 'rambling' out of my head more so than it not necessarily being important. I found over the last couple years I really only journaled about my planners (what was tempting me, what wasn't working etc) I felt so fixated on it. This week I'm finding because the page is dated I'm sort of pausing to reflect about my day and finding new topics outside of stationery which is feeling refreshing. In general I don't think what I journal about is 'deep', but more that I'm connecting with new topics I didn't so much last year. hope that makes sense!
@@lindseyscribbles Thank you so much for explaining! I absolutely see what you mean. I think if I were in a cousin or similar dated daily setup I would have the same inclination, to keep my thoughts more streamlined and focused (and keep the 'hobby thoughts' on a random sheet elsewhere).
I've always been *such* a horizontal hater (they're only vaguely manageable if I make sub-boxes within the days), but the weekly + notes setup of the Weeks is so good! I wonder if there's a proper name for that layout.
Love your series! I started using cousin from this year, but I have been struggling to fully use it! I’m not someone who likes to decorate with tons of stickers and doodles so I really like your simple style (but cute with illustrations)!
Thanks for watching! I think the cousin should really be marketed as a self discovery book 😂 I always find myself switching things up because it’s such a big paper playground
Love this series. Gives so much inspiration to do more with my planners. Waiting on my hobonichi A6 to arrive.
Thank you! The a6 is such a cute size I’m always wanting to find a way to add it in 😂
I’m really loving these videos. There’s something about watching you plan that’s really calming and the voice over parts are good as well. I’ve been doing this since last year (using a cousin and a weeks) and finding it so much easier to have a planner for functionality and a journal/archive for mental health/reference. This system has been working for me so much better than the others I have tried and it was your videos before that gave me the idea of this. (Separate weeks for work). So thank you and looking forward to the next video in this series!
Thanks for watching! There’s something magical about the weeks + cousin combo I think
I find the same thing, I really plan better in a horisontal week layout. I used the weeks for the first 6 weeks or so, then I stumbled over Paper Tess Designs’s new B6 yearly planner, which features a horisontal weekly layout and seven blank grid pages before the next weekly. A perfect combination for me to plan the week and then do weekly reflections in almost the same space. Love it so far!
the layout of the paper tess designs planner looks so tempting!
@@lindseyscribbles I love it so far!!
Loving thes Vlogs! Where are the Stardew Valley print outs from? I need those!
I picked up a Cousin Avec and I'm doing a weeks again this year (love my weeks!!). When you work in your planners in the morning, how much time are you spending? And do you find it's easiest to "keep up" when you do morning + evening entries? I get all caught up in mine and before I realize it I've spent an hour fussing over them in the evening! LOL
I keep my habit trackers updated in the morning because it takes less than 3 minutes and keeps the data up to date before I forget. Generally I outline tasks in my planners before I start journaling that way what I need to get down happens before I also find myself an hour deep on the more 'fun' parts like journaling, stickering, doodling lol. I think because I enjoy my time in the notebooks I've just found an excuse to have two touch points - but it works for me!
our brains are the same. you do it more neat and prettier ❤
😂💕
Moomin!!!
it's my favorite blue lagoon souvenir!
Where is your acrylic iPad stand from?
I was wondering this as well!
