I’ve been tying my shoelaces this way for 60 years. Definitely does work

Same. My dad showed me this in the early 60s and I've never once had a shoelace come loose by itself. I can't believe this isn't known by everyone, because it's so simple you can teach it to a toddler.

Anyone feel like they failed at life coming to a youtube video about how to tie your shoes?

I feel a bit behind the curve. But we all start somewhere, sometimes some of us need to start certain things over, in order to get them right. its not necessary, nor do I imagine beneficial, to embody feelings of self loathing because of our deficits. what I think we ought to do is fix them if its for ourselves and we see fit to. Or, learn to understand our deficits better, and find ways to make them strengths, and minimize their ability to encumber our journey.

A shoe salesman showed me this 40 years ago. He called it a one and a half knot.

I'm going to try it. I'm so tired of my shoelaces coming undone while at work. I've had to stop half-way on the stairs to re-tie my laces. I've tried changing the original laces but it still doesn't work. Hopefully this works!

This isn't bad and I used it for a number of years, but it *does* come undone occasionally.
