Please wear eye protection! Love your channel. Love your Japanese style in your expression... very lovely.
You are the most beautiful and wonderful carpenter in the world. I am one of your followers from the country of Iraq. Thank you for your beautiful accomplishments. You are an artist
I can’t believe I’ve not found your channel before now, your skill level is mind boggling to me, this box is beautiful and the joinery is perfect. Looking forward to catching up on some of your videos.
Wow! Every video I watch of yours, I tell myself, I am going to build that next. Then I come to reality and remember I am no where near that good to even attempt something like this. Way to go!! You are the best traditional joinery woodworker I have ever seen
My first reaction to Jesse was that he was kinda prideful, but good. Later I realized he had a reason to be prideful, his work is amazing and always well done. All these videos are a pleasure to watch. I watch videos like this to inspire me to get in my shop and continue to practice. I for one, will never get bored of these!
you make it look so easy brother man . I have adopted your way of handling the routers . what I mean is I let them stop spinning before I mover them away from the work piece . I will be 50 years old in a month and I am still learning Patients every day.
Merry CHRISTMAS and Happy NewYear samurai. Dig all your designs and craft going into them. Always love watching. For all of us and your family ; Put your safety glasses on brother! Beautiful chisel chest!!
What a work of pure genius. It looks great. Is there a reason you made the handle part separately? Could this not be made completely with the sides or is it for strength due to the grain direction?
Thanks to you I just made a walnut bench using this design for my bench, of course it’s not a replica or to the level of your craftsmanship but I like it. Thanks for you vids. I’ll be posting a video of it on my channel. Thanks again
Samurai, couldn't tell from the video, but did you do anything to address expansion/ contraction of the side panels with respect to the handles on top of each panel? Or is it not going to move enough to matter?
So, after 4 years, have your chest end pieces split apart, with those firmly-glued, pinned, and tenoned joints between the cross-grain end panels and the long-grain handles?
great looking chisel chest. I like the through tenon approach. it actually looks a little simpler than dovetail carcass. I have been meaning to make 2 of these and was going to do the challenge that the woodworking school (I think near Boston) has for their first year final project but will try yours first since you did all the thinking for me & I need one soon.
Is there a reason that the handles were added on to the chest instead of being part of the side pieces of wood? Does it add strength doing it that way? It seems like it would be nice having matching grain pattern on the entire side.
The chest looks great. I was wondering about your thought process on arranging the handle cross grain to the chest side was though? It goes counter to how I was taught to deal with wood expansion so was curious about it. The only thing I could think of is there enough flex in the handle because of the cutout to allow it to bend with side movement. Thanks
Ah, the Supervisor coming around to check your progress. Get that young man a stainless steel coffee mug with an appropriate title like “Shop Supervisor” so he can be paid! Enjoy your videos. Cheers.
That's really beautiful. I don't follow this channel but clearly you're a master craftsman. Do you have previous videos that offer any explanation about the functionality and making of the router bases you used in this build? What finish did you use on this piece? It looked to be some kind of past wax. How do you plan to store the chisels in the drawers? Using something like Kaizan foam? How did you make the walnut accent plugs shown near the end? Are those cut from thin strips cut on a table saw with ends shaped on a sander?
I BET IF I HAD ALL THOSE FANCY SHMANCY TOOLS I STILL COULDNT BUILD THAT..;) bet u thought I was a troll lol happy holidays samurai to you and yours great way to end the year bro!!
*_"It's in the painter, not the brush."_* An AWFUL lot of practice is being displayed here - just imagine the pile of scrap fire wood Jesse has produced to get where he's now! Helps. 🤙🏻

It is beautiful. Merry Christmas to you and family Sir
Well done! An extremely nice piece of work!
That tool chest is really inspiring to me.
Thanks for sharing and happy new year!!
Beautiful work!
nice job ill be watching for it
great work. what is that rabiting handplane you used to clean up the tenons? looks smaller than the jackrabit from veritas.
What is that finish you are using?? It looks fantastic on cherry.
You can know that for a price........ $$$$ ;o)
O,,,
Such respect! Amazing project and skills displayed. Am in awe..
Is there a reason that the handles were added on to the chest instead of being part of the side pieces of wood? Does it add strength doing it that way? It seems like it would be nice having matching grain pattern on the entire side.
The handles would've been endgraing. Of course, a wide saw kerf and spline down the middle would make it strong.
The chest looks great. I was wondering about your thought process on arranging the handle cross grain to the chest side was though? Richard H wood doesn’t move according to Jesse.
