I Went to Paris Alone - How to Find Confidence in Solitude - Things I Wish I Knew
Life in France - Life in Paris - Living in France - Alone in Paris
Hey there friend! 💕 It's been a few weeks! I'm excited to connect with you again 🤗Have you ever traveled solo? What did you like or take away from the experience?
I traveled solo to 90 countries before I met my husband. Travel is my passion and it gives me much joy and inspiration because I love to meet new people. I also appreciate architecture art, gardens, good coffee and many other things all of which are in abundance as one travels!
Definitely feeling the vibe my friend, hello beautiful soul! 🤗✌️What an amazing tribe you’ve gathered Helena. I’ve never traveled alone but many times I wished I had lol. I do get out by myself and without the distractions you’re 100% right. Hoping for a better year in 2022 but if not my friend it has been a great honor and a pleasure knowing you. All my love to you and Alex. 💕🌟 PS Hey! Keep your light shining the world needs you. Mwah 💋😊
Lots of solo travel. I just did Paris alone in October. Was the best time I had.
I got to appreciate the most beautiful city in the world without interruption or distraction
Priceless
Good to see you again
Paris is one of my favorite cities and I have traveled there alone many times en route to visiting family in other parts of France or just to enjoy the beauty of Paris. My first trip there was in 1989 and I have been back over 1/2 dozen times. I took my daughter to Paris when she turned 10 to take her to purchase her first perfume at Galleries Lafayette. She chose a sample of 5 small sample bottles at Christiane Dior. We also took a cooking class and saw a fashion show. Generally speaking I like to travel alone because I like to take French classes when I am in France and often end up meeting up with other students who are also studying French. Once you get past all of the tourist attractions you may start to feel as though sharing the experience with a loved one would be nice.Paris is a very romantic place to be, so I take lots of pictures and post them for my friends and family to see. I like to try to live like a local when I am traveling, so I tend to rent on Airbnb and don’t go to many hotels. I like to cook so I will shop for fresh ingredients at the market and then I experiment with cooking various recipes I can follow with French chefs showing how to make the dish. I pick up a treat here and there from the thousands of specialty shops and boulangeries. Fresh bread daily and local produce are plentiful in the warm months.
had to stop the video after just two minutes just to tell you: This is exactly what I needed without knowing it. Thank you. I`m travelling to Paris alone to spend two weeks there in solitude this spring, to finish writing my book and celebrating my 50th birthday. Alone. I have 4 grown up children and a husband I love, but I enjoy my own company and I love Paris i solitude. Thank You again. All the best, Siw from Norway (psychtherapist and writer)
Wow congratulations!! 🤗 I am so excited for you and your trip! You're going to have the most wonderful time. If you want any reccomendations for visiting paris, send me an email and I'd be happy to share my favorite spots with you! Have so much fun! 💕🥰✨
Hi there, am traveling to Paris alone for my 52nd birthday, a South African living in Poland 🇵🇱
So happy for you...I am 50 too and I am just starting planning a trip to Paris...alone...Already excited😊
can we appreciate how beautifully Helena wrote the script? can't get over the way you portrayed everything so simply yet gracefully. ily ♡
thank you! 💕 Writing is my first love and greatest creative passion.
yes, she is a great writer and narrator of her experience as well ...thank you
A couple times I traveled to a foreign place alone and those experiences made me a more confident and independent person
I have been fortunate to travel alone to Paris; mainly because none of my friends want to go. Before Covid, I went every year. You never get tired of Paris. Thank you for this wonderful video. It is a work of art.
I’m a Romanian but have been in the US for the last 20 years. As an immigrant I’ve spent those years grinding and making a life for myself. In a few months I’m going back to Europe! ALONE! London , Paris and Sicily! I come alive thinking of this adventure on my own! I’m already dreaming and planning all the museums and art I’m going to drench my soul in, the food I miss so much , reading my French books in a garden! Thank you Helena for sharing these with us !
I hope you have a wonderful trip.
@@TJ-kz1ul thank you so much ✨
I can relate, Violeta! Thank you for sharing this inspiration..
I hope you have a great trip and enjoy wonderful experiences!
Doooooooo iiiiiiiit 💕
Okay, this one was just so so good, Helena! I spent 3 magical days alone in Paris that made me happier than just about any other vacation I've been on. I walked for miles, I did exactly what I wanted to do, I sat in cafes and parks and people watched, I ate an unhealthy amount of croissants, I noticed so many little things. I cannot wait to go back! My ex-husband always thought me going places alone and eating alone was cringy, but it never stopped me, if you get it, you get it :) Thanks for letting me live vicariously, kindred spirit.
yes!! LOVE this! 🇫🇷❤️ we are such kindred spirits! Always love connecting with you here, friend 🤗
That sounded wonderful 💕
That could have been my words... I feel you.
If it makes you feel better my ex-husband though I was strange for enjoying my own company...he never got it...and that's one of the reasons he is Ex🙃😊
GOURMANDE ☺️
Excellent feeling when you say @ 4:40 you can be yourself when alone & with other we feel focused on them
I agree
I’m an older person & have the traveled the world on my own
I have lived alone
I feel so much love on my own & free to express myself & meet others
I value friends & family &
Am confident in my nature in solitude
Helena, I remember being a young girl with my parents in Paris and was enthralled to see how incredibly stylish the French women were. I couldn't stop looking at them. As a young adult, I travelled to Paris alone, and oh the joy... the joy of being there alone... watching people from the sidewalk cafes, soaking in the beauty of the Luxembourg Garden, looking at paintings at the museums, savoring my cafe au lait, admiring the fashion on those stunning Parisienne women, perusing books at Shakespeare and Company, eating the best sandwich of my life, etc. ALL BY MYSELF. Being in Paris is like being under a spell... especially when you're alone. I love being with people, but being by myself is even more magical regardless of where I go, especiall in nature, because our attention is fully focused on the experience. Thank you for this magical vlog.
I went to Paris alone 2015. I felt like I stepped into a world of the past. I know no French, but got by with no problem. The people were very gracious.
I’ve travelled to Paris and France several times over the past several years. In 2019, for the first time ever, I travelled to Paris / France alone. France always draws me back - I am very much under it’s spell. I spent a week in Paris and two in Bordeaux - alone with no distraction or compromise. It was the most exhilarating and fulfilling travel experience. The beauty, the grandeur, the cafés, the people, the food, everything aspect of being, was all mine! It was the best travel experience of all my travels. Your vlog has so resonated with me that I have for the first time, been motivated to comment. I was able to relive those intense moments sipping coffee, reading my book under the warmth of the sun in amongst the brilliant colours of flowers and scent in the Luxembourg Gardens, strolling along the Seine … so many special moments so clearly imprinted in memory. Love who you are, and be guided by your inner voice. Thank you Helena, a great vlog ☺️
Your description is so vivid. What a beautiful thing to have been so present in those moments and to have created such clear and cherished memories. 💛
"You don't have to own something to appreciate it." Words of wisdom.
I did one day of traveling in Paris alone- loved it! I went to the Rodin museum, Musee d’Orsay, enjoyed cup of hot chocolate near the Obelisk- took the metro alone- my husband stayed in the hotel not feeling well but this was my most memorable day
ahhh that's wonderful!! Sorry to hear he wasn't feeling well during your trip to paris - but how lovely you got to experience the joy of solitude in paris 🤗
I love having lunch at both musée Rodin and Musée D’Orsay. I especially like the muséums that have gardens with a place to eat outdoors.
Thank you for your inspiring and soothing video-the power of traveling alone. I am an introvert as well. I miss my solo day outings in London when I studied abroad-I could enjoy the museums at my own pace without waiting for somebody or feeling rushed and have anything I wanted for lunch or tea and savor it. It is a shame that there are some people who think there is something wrong with a table for one. At least, I don’t have to worry about listening to gossip or arguing with my table companion, which ruins my appetite. I am waiting until the numbers go down to go traveling again. Once it happens, I am going all out because I will be gone eventually or something may happen to me in a year or so. I am ready to pack my bags and see the world again! 💕💐
Completely agree with this. Some of my nicest times spent in London were when I was on my own. You notice everything and absorb everything.
totally! 💕
Yes I love it. My last trip I went to see Les Miserables alone. I had the best time!
I often travel alone before the pandemic, and in all of those times I bring a laptop to reduce boredom.
However, in my most recent trip in December, I decided not to bring my laptop, instead only bringing my journal. Instead of screen time during my down time, I write. And writing with pen and paper feels so much better than looking at a screen.
I love this video. I have traveled alone as well. I spent a whole year in Rome traveling around Italy. One of the main things I learned was to find a safe and cleaned room to stay
I learned not be afraid but to respect cultures and learn how to listen others and be humble. I learned the Language and enjoy seeing admiring to the small details of such a beautiful country.
. Then I enrolled to language/ art school in the historical center. I met so many beautiful people. People that were doing what I was doing with the same dreams. I ended up spending 3 month with a princess a real one. I never knew she was a princess. She never told me.
We became great friends. She is so humble and she wanted to live life without any control or security.
Now I see her in front news page and I laughed of knowing that we are all equal and not matter the material things. Feelings are feelings. Human are humans.
The most important is to live let live and enjoy our beautiful earth. Be free. 🥰🙏. Love each other. 🙏🥰.
I love your SLOW videos. They bring so much peace to my mind. 🙏 Thank you.
What a beautiful video! As an introvert (I'd say on the extreme introvert side) and a highly sensitive personality, I can so understand what you said in regards to taking in so much more of your surroundings when you are alone because when you are with someone else you are so focused on them. I'm wondering if this too is an introvert thing. I've noticed a lot of people who are more extroverted and outgoing do not focus on the people around them. They are so busy talking about themselves and focusing on themselves, I don't think they focus much on the people around them. I'm not saying all extroverts are like this (I know some lovely extroverts), but I seem to work with a lot of people who are this way.
This comment is very relatable. I've experienced and observed this in my last job where I felt like the only introvert and I started to wonder if something was wrong with me because I didn't feel compelled to talk about myself as everyone else loved to do. It's an interesting observation (I definitely know some lovely extroverts too!).
@@KristenMelissa I know exactly how you feel. I typically just sit back and listen as I'm glad for someone else to be getting the attention, but I have noticed people that I work with talk about themselves nonstop. It gets very draining, I'm thankful I only have to work 1 or 2 days a week (even though I'm home with my 2 loud teenagers the other days )
A wise spiritual person taught me years ago to not worry what others think as they don't think too often but rather go through their life on automatic wondering why things never change for the better. A very good and thoughtful video today Helena. Thanks...
Hello my new favorite You Tuber! I just recently found you and feel uplifted with your message. Fellow introvert, lone wolf (love that). This time in my life has me caretaking my husband with stage 5 Parkinson's. This video has inspired me to get more respite care, put on a bright lipstick and go explore my city....alone!!! Thanks girl! 😙
When you like who you are, you enjoy being alone…… yes, yes, yes! I love being alone! Thank you for this beautiful video♥️🥀♥️
yeah!! 🤗💕 I'm so glad it resonates! ✨ Great to connect with you!
Having reared a large family and now a senior in my own right , living alone ,
after my dear husband of 51yrs died from Cancer ,
Family now adults living their own lives , I relish my solitude
I relate so much to what this lovely girl 👧 Helena is referring to , the Art of being alone .👏

I really like your haircut, Helena. It looks lovely! I traveled to San Diego alone in 2019 to see a concert on my birthday. The past two years, for my birthday, I've been going up to Phoenix and Sedona. I realized that no one is even paying attention to me when I'm eating alone (in the best Italian restaurant in Little Italy!) I can eat wherever I like and do whatever tickles my fancy! Thanks for another great video.
I’ve traveled alone for years at first because no one wanted to go on my adventures and now because I like it. I also enjoy traveling with some other people but a limited few who are open minded to new experiences.
Lovely video! Thank you! 'If you enjoy your own company, you will never be bored.' I totally relate to this amazing observation.
Absolutely beautiful! You are looking fabulous and so chic! Loved the narrative. Thank you!
Traveled to Paris solo in 2014. Absolutely the best trip ever!
" life is never boring when you enjoy your own company" love that frase
this is such a breath taking video. so timely. i am my best most true self when alone. pre covid i would go places alone while my daughter was in school. out to a nice lunch, walking, bookstores, a movie, it was sublime. i miss it. now caring for an ailing parent, three years into homeschooling my daughter. those alone times are fleeting memories. a lifetime ago. i miss those times. that personal freedom. i went to Paris years ago w a friend, her daughter and my sister. while it was amazing, i was not on my own timetable, unable to explore on my own, to pursue and browse to my hearts desire. i have no true memories or mementos from that trip, so rushed, a blur. shameful. i hope to go back alone one day. this was really heart stirring. thank you. it was almost like viewing a movie. you are a true talent. by the way, love the hair. you look very french. very sophisticated.
That shot of you walking towards the giant clock was awe inspiring!
Absolutely beautiful. The sights, sounds and your WORDS! Fantastic!
I also love my solitude when I travel alone. It feels so good. You feel free. You enjoy more. You find yourself. You learn more about different things, the culture, the positive things from others, the language. It's so beautiful.
That was beautiful, Helena. I love my own company. Where else will I find someone that enjoys all that I do? Solitude allows time to think and savor life without the distraction of serving others. Selfish? A bit, but I'm worth it.
Thank you for this beautiful video! I love Paris and the cafes how the chairs face outward to people watch. My daughter and I went there and really loved the people watching. I have traveled alone several times. I used to travel to Sweden for work and would spend 10-14 days at a time so weekends were spent alone. I have taken the hydrofoil to Copenhagen Denmark and explore the city alone. I've walked Frankfurt Germany alone. I've traveled alone to yoga retreats camping in the mountains. Yes I was attending workshops but I spent a lot of time alone in my tent. Group 4am Sadhana was alone with others. I am an introvert and I love alone time.
aw this is amazing Laura!! I had no idea you've traveled that much! Always learning more things about you, my friend! 💕 Big hugs to you 🤗
I’m a new subscriber and have binge watched your videos over the past few days.
As a fellow introvert, It thrills me to hear about all of your wonderful adventures.
It feels as if I’m reuniting with an old friend.
Thank you for sharing your art and passion for life. ☀️✨🌸
ah wow thanks Cait!! 🤗 I love that feeling! There are a few youtubers where I feel the same way - it's like reconnecting with a kindred spirit! 💕
I just found Helena too and feel as though I have struck gold!
I recently went to Paris by myself and had the exact experience you describe in this beautiful video. Thank you for putting into words and images that help me process that time I had. I loved traveling alone and will do it again. Cheers.
Beautiful as always! Glad I found your channel! You inspired me to spend time alone!
I love doing things alone! You can stay in a meditative state vs small talk which removes us from the scene (the painting.)
I traveled alone to the cape this Summer. I loved it. Relaxed enjoyed my few days there. I am so good at being alone and this really wants me to go to Paris. Thank you Helene!!!
Beautiful - I’m from Paris originally but moved to regional Australia as a child. I haven’t been back in 4 years due to current times - I usually go every 2 years. I miss it. I’ve lived in many places around the world and enjoy my own company but have never lived alone. Cafes, museums, cinema, parks, pool are all places I enjoy being alone in without the chatter of others as to focus on myself and bathe in the solitude.
This sounds so lovely. All that people-watching! ahhh drink it in ❤️
Thank You 😊 That was beautiful. I am very much an introvert and always felt it was wrong somehow. Wow, your perspective has allowed me to understand why I feel so much better when I’m alone. I will be enjoying my alone time even more. 💕
Have been in Paris alone.Really enjoyed my stay.Loving yourself first is most important .Loving being in your own company whereever you are makes life wonderful. You will appreciate every second you spend with you.
I like being and travelling alone a lot and when I am with someone, they understand that there will be long moments of silence because I need to enjoy my solitude while I am with them 🙂
I have taken four trips to Paris alone. I was there two weeks each time. I LOVED IT!!! I can’t wait for the pandemic restrictions to ease so I can resume doing it again. 🤗
After my first solo trip, I preferred to travel alone because of all the things you mention. You connect with what is around you and it invites others to interact with you. I have interesting conversations with people and learn about the local culture. I have so many experiences others find so interesting when I get home and tell them but they are afraid to go do it themselves. I find solo travel exhilarating!
I love your videos so much! You have so much wisdom for someone so young! I have learned a LOT from watching them and it has improved my life. I've read many self-help books and watched videos but none has resonated with me as much as yours. Thank you!! I dream of going to France but, as a dog rescuer, I have many animals to care for so can't even take a trip. Touring France with you is the next best thing. These days I do everything alone and, even though I can't take any trips, I plan to visit small towns near me for the day by myself after I get my new car. I love solitary pursuits!
I discover your channel and I love it💕 To listen to you give me a lot of appreciation of life and also peace in my heart ( suffering for a long time of depression) than you
I really needed this video. My social anxiety has been so severe I haven't seen family in two months. This was just a little bit of inspiration I needed to take that step outside and go somewhere to make me smile, even if it's just to the park.
I've always planned to go alone for my first trip, i know i want to take it all in as an introvert. Then share with others. 🤗
I really felt the passion in your voice, with the message of "Do not wait~life is happening now". To stop and look and see it! I Love these beautiful artistic videos of yours, with such strong, clear messages. 💗 I always feel so awakened by your energy Helena! ✨
thank you my friend!! ❤️🥰 I always love reading your words. You are such a kindred spirit of light ✨ I'm sending you a hug through my keyboard 🤗🤗
@@helenawoods Aww thank you Helena! Hug received! 😊💗
Thank you, I myself have been alone in Paris. The experience was so strong that I intend to keep traveling alone, specially in cities.
The next one I want London
You’re speaking my mind and doing what I wish but can’t in Paris. You’re blessed. Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts with us. It says, it provides one with a chance to reflect on spiritual matters in solitude. Beautiful poetry always composed by solitary poets.
Such a thought provoking video! 🤔 I really liked your emphasis on getting lost in the masterpiece of life. How poetic! ❤️🥰 I enjoy road-tripping and flying alone in the States! People just don’t get it. 🤷🏽♀️ I usually get concerned stares and questions. Traveling alone is the closest thing to literally flying! 🕊🦅 It’s so liberating!!! Thanks for sharing! 🎊❤️ (From a fellow introvert 😀)
OMG...I just love love love everything you say in the video...I like being around people but I also love being all by myself...exploring new places , new cultures , new foods...roaming the streets...checking out bookstores...shopping...there is so much you can do alone...its addicting...please keep posting...ur such an inspiration...blessings💕🙏
This video is a masterpiece! Thank you for every bit of it!
It is encouraging to see a young person who gets the keys to life and happiness. Thank you.
I agree, I enjoy Paris the best when I visit alone. I love my own company, but most of my friends don't understand that part of me. Thank you for your videos.
Beautifully done Helena! ❤️😍
I so enjoyed this video. I have now subscribed. Thank you for these moments of peace.
We really are kindred spirits! I have always enjoyed spending the day by myself going to a town, museum, taking photos and really being aware of the surroundings! So enjoyable and I have traveled in the past by myself and really enjoyed it! In the beginning I did feel uncomfortable asking for a table one! But I got overeating got confident being on my own and really enjoying the experience! This video is a perfect reminder for me as tomorrow's my birthday and I was just thinking about having a day to myself! Thank you so much very enjoyable and beautifully filmed video!
Love the idea of embracing your inner 9-year old self and allowing yourself to have some good-hearted fun. That Hot Cocoa looked AMAZING by the way! ☕
Brilliant! I loved it. Thank you for encouraging us to enjoy our lives fully - wherever we are!
🇬🇧 I too am an introvert and find not a lot of people understand how you like being alone, I love it!
Beautifully said and made! 💗
Yes, you are distracted by others, I love being by myself at times, driving and listening to my music and going shopping by myself just love it!!!!!😊
I accidentally found your channel, and just LOVED Your videos. I’ve always been drawn to France especially Paris, now I understand why...I’ve always loved philosophy, arts, beautiful buildings, fashion, intellectual growth, and spending time alone to read and think. You really inspired me to go there alone...I’d love to except that I don’t speak French. Love what you said that “you don’t have to own it to appreciate it”...it’s the best spiritual statement. Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring videos 🙏🌺
I am coming to Paris, Provence and Nice at the end of June traveling alone after waiting and waiting for others to join me and realized going alone is just fine. Thank you for your wonderful video.
Beautifully written and gorgeous images 🌷 the perfect feel good video, thank you ! 💕
Alexandra
I would love to travel alone, but my husband hates the idea. In general he gets offended when I even mention how happy I am alone, despite constant reassurance that it’s not even about him at all. I prefer doing most errands alone and when I used to travel for work (in the before times, lol) I just LOVED it. I need to find a way to make it work for both of us….
Ah Allison! I just sent you a card yesterday ❤️ Thanks for your love and support. Gosh, I'm sorry he gets offended by that. I can see that. My husband has never been offended by it but found it odd when we first started dating. When we were 6 months into our relationship, I went backpacking around Europe by myself for 6 weeks and he found it very curious but then inspiring. He now enjoys going to the movies and restaurants alone after seeing me do it over the years! Just living quietly by example is a great way to help others understand. Maybe if he sees your joy radiate after you spending time alone, little by little, time after timer, he'll be curious enough to try it out himself. 🤗 It's so good for the soul! 💕✨ Sending you a big hug!
Thank you Helena…I travel solo often and have been to Paris 4 times… I’ve enjoyed it alone and with people…your video says a lot and I am impressed with your insight. 😊 Thank you
thank you Janet! 💕🤗The introverted nature helps with that! The reflection and the processing...
The best vacation I ever had was a solo trip to Paris in 2009. I have the best memories of that trip just as you have so eloquently described. Just being in the moment and enjoying the beauty and scenery on my own with no distractions. I can't wait to do a repeat, hopefully this spring. Way overdue ! Thank you for this lovely post.
This is one of the best videos ever with an awesome message. Keep safe and be blessed
I’m a new subscriber and fellow introvert, love your content, your personlity ,thnx for the wonderfull videos
So inspiring and delightful. I hope to do this some day! 🙂
Watch life happen. Life is happening right now, and if we don't stop and notice it and look up and fully be present alone, we're gonna miss it. We're gonna miss this masterpiece of a painting that we're living in.
-Helena Woods
Aw, I love everything you said in this video!! ❤️❤️❤️
i already liked your video halfway...i am living already in paris and sometimes we just get lost in our daily struggles and forget to appreciate the beauty that brought us here... soa big big biggg thank you Helena
You are very wise beyond your years young lady ❤️. Love your content. Keep it coming
Exquisite. Exquisite. Exquisite. “Appreciate it. Without noticing the lack of it in your own life.” As if these words were written for the exact coordinates my heart needed. Thank you. x
"No one else wins by you withholding joy from yourself" Wow! 🤯
France 🇫🇷, Paris specifically, means the world to me. It is my home, my true home.
You are so inspiring Helena thanks for all your hard work in these videos. You are truly gifted.
I think we all do a solo trip to Paris. It’s an unspoken thing but we all do it. Best tip “you can’t see the Eiffel Tower from the Eiffel Tower.”
I LOVE all of your videos, but this one was definitely one of my favs. Thank you for sharing!
Ohh myy god!Helenaa!!❤❤❤
Thank youu for making thisssss beestttumbeestttt videooo!!!
Thaankk you for existingggg!!!
Bigggg hugggggg🥺❤
This is wonderful, I agree completely!! Thank you for pointing out this perspective so eloquently!xo
As you can see by my profile pic, Paris is one of my favourite cities. Just full of beauty in all aspects and authenticity, hope you had a great time. I’m solo tripping to Dublin this year as I’ve only been with people, and want to feel it’s presents observantly.
Thank you for posting this video What a pleasure to watch! Reminded me of my time living alone in Paris. I don’t speak French but still had a wonderful time experiencing the culture, people and food. Spent everyday alone at the cafe on my way to work in the morning people watching, Far Niente on the weekends and ate dinner alone most every night. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Thanks soooo much for these views from Paris... It's true that being alone makes you see things from a different point of view. But you can be with somebody and each one goes his own pace and after that you gather and share your points of views and adventures....
Thanks for the librairies and the croissants....
I love visiting museums by myself too.
I see you had a wonderful trip.
Enjoy your life🌈
indeed, it's wonderful to do both! I often do this with my husband when we take trips. I'll ask him if its okay if i go off for a few hours and when we return, my energy is inspired and rejuvinated. A nice refresh! 🤗
Helena , you are such an inspiration to me ! I am watching your video and I have tears in my eyes !
I have been traveling alone for seven years now and I could relate to everything you say . Unfortunately I am not able to put it into words the way you describe it.
I will be 70 years old and will be taking a trip for a month mostly in France .
I have been there several times but is never enough for me .
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us ! I wish you a wonderful life !
hello helena, rewatching this lovely video as i sit on my own in my tiny paris apt, pretending to be parisian for a week. your videos always give me the inspiration i long for. 🥰
aw yay!! so glad you're enjoying it Sarah 💕🤗
would love to go to Paris by myself but my daughter would be mad at me :D I love your message to people. When I was younger I felt the need to be surrounded by people but you are totally right, I love going places by myself. I moved to London for a spell by myself. I tend to take my children or friends places but used to work part-time so had time to go on hikes by myself. You do take in so much more. I wouldn't even listen to music on walks as I wanted to take in the natural sounds. I will do Paris alone one day :D
I highly agree with you, Paris is in fact for those who seek relief, energy and joy in solitude
You are so beautiful to listen too,I love going out alone looking around at the beauty around us ,and people I just go into my own world socking in the things around us . You have tort me to do this watching your beautiful videos ,love your stories xo 💞😘🌺🏞️🌄
Thank you Helena, for your channel, I love it, so supportive, I am travelling in January solo to France, it has opened a whole new door way into my life, xxxx
Thank you for sharing this with us. You sound exactly like me, I love doing things alone, travelling and holidays. As you say you take more in and absorb every little thing, I can totally appreciate that myself. I love the cafe’s and journaling too. I keep promising myself that one day I will visit Paris and that I don’t need to be with a man, I would miss too much if I was. To some as you mentioned it sounds bad, however you have reassured me that I’m ok. Thank you 🙏 😘
I traveled to the Amalfi coast by myself, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. When you travel alone, everything that you experience is truly your own experience, and not diluted by going through the filter of a travel companion. Also, complete strangers are more willing to chat with you or sit with you when you are on your own. I long to travel alone again.❤️
My first visit to Paris was on my own. I spent four days before meeting friends in the Dordogne. Although it was August and some things were closed and it was pretty hot, I had a great time. I had a Paris Pass so all my transport was covered. Lots of museum entries, and I loved the Hop on Hop off buses. Just to ride through and view the beautiful sights. I enjoyed my bistro meals and the wait staff were very nice. I was able to order food and carry on basic conversation in French. I went on a walking tour and had a lovely time just enjoying the city.
Loved this so much!!! What a beautiful city! The small places you found and your ideas were very inspiring!
I'm always so inspried by walkable cities! Just grab my camera, a mini tripod, a little notebook and pen - and the inspiration is always there!
It's wonderful you are so well tuned into yourself and life at your young age. I should have been as fortunate 40 years ago.
