Wow dan I'm really enjoying learning sign language and after watching this video I think I've got time nailed ,I've only been learning a few weeks ,your videos are great
Very useful, thank you very much. But I’m curious how you make it clear what time during the day it is. E.g 12am and 12pm and can you use the 24hour clock time as well to give a sense of morning and evening. E.g if I wanted to say 1:30pm could I say 13:30 instead to indicate pm? Or is there different ways of signing am/pm/24hr clock time?
I'm Argentine. I'm an English teacher in my nation and currently learning Argentine Sign Language and, by curiousity, am I here. Let me tell you that numbers and time-telling in BSL are by far much easier than in LSA (Lengua de Señas Argentina - Argentine Sign Language) 😅 Keep it up!! Greetings from San Luis 🇦🇷
I love all of the videos ! My sister and I are working through the videos to learn and build our knowledge of BSL ! 💫💫 I actually got all of them correct wooo

If you watch this video, follow it up with Dan's 'BSL Receptive Quiz: What's the Time?', a fantastic way to really get the hang of telling the time.

BSL doesn't use 24hrs clock. Instead sign for morning, afternoon, night. (level 1 student)

Thank you very much. So clear, especially as you show the sign from different angles. Much appreciated.

Thanks Dan a brilliant video . Helped me to understand need for context when using sign because many signs mean several things depending on context

Question, I do better time with military. Would I just use standard 1-24 and point to wrist for watch for that?
Love your videos they are always so helpful and easy to follow.
Such a great help. Thank you
Very good, please leave 3 seconds instead of 1s between each question for dyslexia.
Thank you 😀
I wanna ask how to sign 13 o'clock?
If you don't have a dominant hand, can you use either? Or should you use one?
Switching can cause confusion for the person you're signing to, so it's best to use one hand. Thanks for watching 🖐️
As I understand it, it’s better if you pick one and are consistent - it can get a bit confusing to follow if you keep switching hands!
I am hard of hearing and my best friend is deaf who lip reads and we are learning sign language. Your videos are great and very helpful. Thank u
Thank you
Isn't 'five o clock' the same as 'ten'?
Well, it depends on the lip pattern but I use a different sign for 10 which Dan did not show for some reason as it is most common too!
