@Joe Jones I think the main take away here is that he didn't need to do all that and risk an injury. He literally did some soccer/basketball footwork to get the juke.
He's truly great for baseball. I was never really a big follower of baseball up until a few years ago when I came across his RUclips channel in my recommendations, and I found his breakdowns both informative, and hilarious, at the same time. Those videos really made me appreciate baseball more for what it is, and I have been an avid watcher of my Detroit Tigers ever since then (as well as many other baseball games, as the Tigers aren't exactly in the best spot to be in right now lol). I miss at most 15-20 games of there's a year, which says something considering they lose the vast majority of games they play lol. Before Jomboy, I'd watch maybe 10-20 games of baseball a year - total! Jomboy's videos really helps get people like me who never really followed baseball, as well as the younger generation of sports fans into big-time baseball fans.
He’s got the most athleticism in the MLB right now. If he could just do a flip like Ozzie Smith now again he would compete as my favorite shortstop of all time.
The Oz was a definite Wizard . . Too soon for that but I already love Tatis Jr Offensive skills. . And his defensive athleticism. Amazing. He's my favorite Padre in a very long time.
I go to Reds games like twice a year for something to do on a date night or whatever. But this year there’s like 3 dudes that have made me actually be interested in baseball.
He's such a smart ball player. Just put another run on the board by just PUTTING IN THE EFFORT!!! Something a lot of these spoiled babies have forgotten about.
Perdon, pero fue Sogard el que estaba en segunda en ese momento. Ademas, Javy sigue siendo el mago. Mientras Tatis tiene una jugada de fantasia, Javy tiene 10. Javy en esa serie lo barrio.
@@chrish267 I get the point🤷. But keeping your glove on the bag doesn't guarantee an out. The glove was not covering the whole bag and Tatis was working his magic to get to that bag😂
That’s what I’m saying. Play to second then throw to first! Not throw to first and then try to tag at second. No wonder the Cubs didn’t challenge the play
@@JTSmith3330 okay didn’t realize he was lefty but could’ve still ran to second for the force out to avoid a man in scoring position. He has time but now I understand that he was lefty (didn’t catch that at first so thanks), he was probably thinking he had time to force the double play
I feel like a year ago people would’ve just ran into the tag without trying to be safe, I really like this fun stiff
Lol what? You’ve never seen a short slide into a hop? Same concept, much more athletic and “fun”
@Joe Jones in 2017 Chris Coghlan did a flip over the catcher at home, absolutely electric.
@@MrFrinZy nah.. baseball needs more athletes like this

The internet didnt need to know about your "fun stiff"
This kid is great for baseball. Talented, great personality. Love watching players good at what they do having fun out there.
That is clearly a man who loves the sport he plays....love seeing him play
As a Dodgers fan I like him as a player and competitor. He’s an amazing player and will only get better.
Gonna be waiting for the Jomboy breakdown 💀
@Joe Jones a man with taste

This is the type of guy that generates for popularity for your sport. Guys like this are what make the game entertaining
Seeing a rising star in the making. Saying that as a Dodger fan, you can’t hate this guy
This kid might be the smartest and most all around talented current mlb player. Seems to be good guy too from what I’ve heard. Hope it stays this way.
Javy Baez and andrelton Simmons are both really heady players
@@hw6271 Baez is overrated
By all around are you including his defense which leads mlb in errors?
@@johnramsey7739 yes. Yes I do.
@Joe Jones no, yours mentioned it between biting pillows.
Dude really said “got em” siiiiiiike 😂😂😂😂
Tatis, Vlad Jr, Ohtani. Baseball needs guys like these. Athletic, talented Dudes who love baseball and have fun while doing it
One of the most fun players to watch and he has so much personality, fav player
Tatis played single a ball for my hometown. Pretty cool to see him where he is now.
What town is that?

Guy is on 🔥 this year!!!!
Tatis is the most exciting thing ever to happen to baseball! Go Tatis, Go Padres!
He’s got the most athleticism in the MLB right now. If he could just do a flip like Ozzie Smith now again he would compete as my favorite shortstop of all time.
Bro, I love Ozzie
I'm a long time Padres fan since 94', but there will never be another Ozzie Smith different body frame different set of skills.
The Oz was a definite Wizard . . Too soon for that but I already love Tatis Jr Offensive skills. . And his defensive athleticism. Amazing. He's my favorite Padre in a very long time.
I love the stutter step he does right before he rounds third
Tatis Jr is one of the best and funniest in all of baseball
Love seeing Tatis become a bigger stud than he already is⚾️
Even the Short Stop acknowledged it. Ya dude, you got me.
Love the new breed of superstars like Tatis, Shohei, Soto, Guerrero Jr....so much passion, fun and ingenuity!
well said 🚀
The man is having fun this how I play baseball love to see it
Even the cubs short stop knew he was safe. That was amazing
So trippy watching all my 90s hero’s kids ball out..
My guy... love the way he plays
As a cubs fan this hurts to watch, but as a baseball fan in general this was fun to watch
They still got the W at least
Gloria a Dios por los siglos de los siglos, amén ♥️🙏♥️
I'd like to say THANK YOU to the baseball gods for giving us this amazing crop of young talent.
Tatis Jr is blessed with elite baserunning skills. He's more dangerous there than just hitting home runs.
Kid is amazing 🤩
such an entertaining player. Him and Kim make the Padres worth watching.
I go to Reds games like twice a year for something to do on a date night or whatever. But this year there’s like 3 dudes that have made me actually be interested in baseball.
Yooo! This Kid have Some Kind of Special Skills,N Stuff to do certain things! 😂 😂 😂
He is a gift to the game of baseball. That is insaneeee he thought of that in the moment and executed it!
He just makes me like him even more everyday
The goat of baseball
That’s me in mlb the show 21 moments when I need xtra base hits
lol me too
This dude is gonna be the best player in baseball. If he isn't already
He's such a smart ball player. Just put another run on the board by just PUTTING IN THE EFFORT!!! Something a lot of these spoiled babies have forgotten about.
Devin is a cool name 🚀👍🏻
Are you okay? Lmfao
Really dope play by Tatis but also a really easy way to get yourself injured hope he keeps his body safe so he can keep doing crazy shit
Luv dis game , glad it s in the olmpics too lately!
#23 💪🏽SAN PEDRO DE MACORIX BABY !⚾️❤
even though I’m a Cubs fan Fernando has 2000 IQ
The hyped smile on his face says it all😂
I would just like to say… I was at this game
That’s awesome
yk what i was at his game in my minor league team when he was a rookie fort wayne tincaps have his auto
@MIGUEL MALONEY Right behind the Cubs dugout but way on the top row
He’s making the game fun again
Fernando is the best stitistical baseball player now.😁😁😁😁😁, I love this guy
He's putting on a show
He leads in errors, there’s better fielding shortstops out there such as Baez Correa and Lindor but that’s my opinion.
Dude I love the intro to mlb the show Tatis jr is different
His swing is 🥶🥶
*El Niño the Phenom!!!*
Love that guy
Hes a good player and he has a jersey that is almost black and gold and everyone on my team blows so im rooting for him
Best player in the league.
He leads the league in errors and is batting .277. He’s a 3 (4, if you’re generous) tool player. He’s no Trout. Not yet, at least.
@@MrFrinZy yea I agree, there’s better defensive shortstops out there
Tatis is the coolest guy in baseball
Cool That the two best short stops we’re facing each other Baez and Tatis
No wonder why he’s one of the best players ever
That was some FIFA caliber footwork. My boy Tatis can ball, pick a sport.
Best player in baseball
He is just so fun to watch

Never lift the ball to tag. The base is in the ground they need to come to it
Well said
Simple and true.
The pitcher says "got em"💀💀
Ooosh, that’s nasty, kid got skills
That stutter going into 3rd is the most cleanest shit LOL I know it pisses off the pitchers so much
I was at this game and remembered that play we were all shocked
Tatis is literally playing MLB THE SHOW in real life
Bro dang Javy is like the best tagger too
bro the shortstop had his knee on the base tatis was forced to go to second but tht was a helluva move no cap
DR the best 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Smooth moves, fun to watch
Dios Rey de Reyes y Señor de Señores, Amén 🙏♥️🙏
That’s amazing.
That pause at 3rd 🥶
They gotta add that animation for Tatis to The Show lol
Anyone who says this kid isn't good for baseball is delusional
That's why Dominicans r very wanted by the mlb teams we know the game like u know ur self
Didn't the short stop just need to touch the base to get him out? Why did he have to tag him if it was a runners advance? What am I missing here..
The ball is fielded is and thrown to first, so it eliminates the force out at second. At that point, Tatis is the only live player on the base path.
Dude is special!
he pulled the mlb the show 21 😂
Busquen de Dios ♥️🙏♥️
Why would you stop covering the bag he has to touch.
He was covering the base but it became a force out once they threw to first base first which means he had to be tagged out

I'm not gonna lie, Seattle could really use a player like this
Yeah I see no way that any team is getting him tho

That’s what I’m saying. Play to second then throw to first! Not throw to first and then try to tag at second. No wonder the Cubs didn’t challenge the play
Are you guys even baseball players??? 😂😂....look at the play. Batter is lefty obviously (defense shifted). No one to cover 2nd, but the 3rd baseman.

I could become a fan.
We got him locked up for years babyyyy 🤑
Only Fernando can do that
I think he wasnt necessarily planning on taking the slide, he just realized he was way too late to slide
Tatis baby!!
Always go for the feet on a play like that. If they stop just bring in your glove they can’t do anything. If they keep going just tag them
@Joe Jones just make sure you don’t bring up your glove because then he could just bring in his foot
What a guy
Lmao just recommended to me after the news of him using steroids
Tatis!!! Go
padres
Yeah, this is the series where they got swept.
Lol man did the MLB glitch IRL
Saw him hit a 3 run homer and the other runners didn't wait at the plate for him... Is he not liked because of his talent at such a young age?
Why is that not a force out?
Cause they got the force out at 1st making it a tag play after that
El niño once again making it look easy
