Quite a few of you have been asking similar questions so wanted to just answer a few of the most commonly asked questions: 1. When providing a phone number in your Q Code you do NOT need to have a SIM card with a Korean phone number. You can just provide a phone number if your accommodations has one (i.e. hotel or Airbnb). 2. You do NOT need to stay at the airport and wait for your results. And if are transiting to another city, you can continue on your way and just take the test there or continue heading there immediately after testing in Incheon. 3. Test results will come back to you in 4-5 hours from our experience at Incheon testing centre. 4. When you depart Korea, testing requirements are based on the country you're flying to. For example, Singapore does NOT require any testing. 5. From Sep 3 you no longer need to take a pre departure Covid Test when flying to South Korea!!
Thanks, super informative videos, I watched them all *grin*. Is it necessary to book arrival PCR slot or can just walk in to the kiosk after touching down? From your video it suggests we need to book ahead but i cannot find any booking link online. Hope to hear from you!
@@Looktothestars101 when we arrived it was pretty empty! So I think walk ins are available. I’d still suggest reserving ahead of time in case it gets busy. But you should be able to use the link in my description that says Incheon PCR test. From there it should have a Safe2Go reservation link to book the PCR! Good luck!
@@elsajam unfortunately it has to be in person supervised. Unless they’ve made any update I’m not aware of! But you should be able to find that on the QCode site if there were any updates.
I remember that amazing feeling every time I land into Korea. Such an amazing time. I miss it too much. Such a beautiful country. I always hated leaving. Hopefully someday I'll return once more. Enjoy and safe travels. I'll keep watching your videos to see more from your fantastic trip. It looks like it's going to be more complicated than my previous trips there because of covid.
OMG thank you so much for this guys! We are going to Korea in two weeks and we have prepared all the requirements but it's so helpful to know what to do when we're ACTUALLY there. Much appreciated and thank you so much for all your effort in giving us information, bless you both!! Greetings from Ireland
As a Korean living in Korea, July and August are pretty hard to cope with because of sweltering heat and humidity. It’s much better to come here in September and October which have so beautiful scenery and brisk fall days. Next time, you can have an another visit in better circumstances!! Safety is not concern here and have a great time while staying here!!
My wife and I just bought tickets for our trip to South Korea in May 2023, and we're super excited! Thank you for the explanation of all the things you had to do to get cleared for entry.
Hello all, I know that most of you are curious about the travel requirements into South Korea from abroad so I just wanted to pin a note here with some updates that will apply soon. More information can be found here: english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRV/TV_ENG_1_COVID.jsp July 14th: You will be able to input your test result into the Q Code system in case you take your PCR test and are just confused with what you do after receiving your results. At this point you’re required to take a PCR within 3 days of arrival. July 25th: you will be required to take the PCR test on arrival within ONE DAY of arrival vs the current 3 days. They will also require that you stay at your accommodations immediately after taking your test until you receive your results.
I searched for Korea travel 2022 and this is the 1st video and I might say, I am a fan. You both speak very clearly and your guide is easy to follow. I am preparing for a trip in January with my mom who is vacationing in Asia. I have been there 2x but pre-COVID so your video really taught me lots of new things. Thank you! On to your other vids...
Wow that video was so good!! Didn't know about the q code, and PCR on the arrival. The lady on the embassy where I live didn't say about that, only 48 hours prior to the trip. Thanks so much for sharing.
First off, I just want to say thank you for explaining all the travel requirements! Really helps us understand the do’s and dont’s. I’m curious however, how the PCR test in Seoul was? Did they use the shorter q-tip swob or the long one that goes deep? I just took a pre-departure PCR test, but the q-tip used was very short so I’m a little nervous that the test in Korea will be more sensitive. I’ve heard that some people test negative on pre-departure, but positive when taking the test upon arrival in Korea. I’d really appreciate your response!
No need to worry about the PCR it was a shallower one. So your brain won’t be poked at! It was really quick and not bad at all. For us we did a Rapid test pre departure which is always less accurate and of course we were worried that PCR may come back positive for whatever reason. That being said there’s not too much time between the pre departure and PCR on arrival which is why I’d recommend just doing it right away since 24 hours before your rapid is negative.
17:31 you pay only for the distance traveled minimum fare is good for 10km (i think) if you transfer to a 2nd bus (within 30 minutes?) and your total distance traveled is less than 10km (for the 2 buses), you do not pay at the 2nd bus good also between subway and buses you have to tap in and tap out!
I'll be heading to Korea in roughly two weeks. I'm both anxious (about the tests) and excited at the same time. Just a question; is the Q-code generated automatically after you submit or does it take time before you get it? I'm hesitating between getting a PCR or a RTK for this exact reason (like in Singapore, the PCR is so insanely much more expensive than the RTK over here).
Thank you so much for this video, I'm feeling a lot less anxiety about travelling next week! Also by pure chance I'm staying at the same hotel as you, so the tips are so useful :)
Hello, thankyou for sharing your experience! I am travelling to Korea in a few weeks arriving before 7am and also booked test at airport 1 hour after landing. Hope I’ll make it! I am so excited to be on a plane again after two and a half years 😃
This is very helpful! Been planning to visit soon, so grateful I came across your vlog. I always think that travels are made easier when you have the best travel gears and essentials too. The bento bag from Nomad Lane is my best carry-on bag for travels like this. Thought I'd share it with you guys too!
Thank you soo much for doing this video, it was very informative. We’re currently in Cambodia & thinking of going to Seoul next. Super helpful, we love your personalities and the vibe of your videos. New Subs! Looking forward to what yall get up to.
Glad you found it helpful!! You’re going to have so much fun in Seoul! Such an awesome city. Plenty of things to do, see and eat (most importantly 😂). It’s probably quite different than Cambodia but different isn’t bad! Hope your trip there is going well so far! Our upcoming stuff will get you even more excited about Korea hopefully!
I can imagine, we’ve been watching quite a bit of vlogs on South Korea lately so we’re very excited about it. Super pumped for the food: Korean fried chicken, bulgogi, kalbi, Korean bbq, Tteokbokki, dak-galbi, hotteok and much more. Different isn’t bad at all, we embrace the change. Looking forward to watching, cheers!
@Korea Travel Notes@ 1. Korea is a homogeneous nation Korea has only recently become famous abroad and is attracting more and more tourists. Most Koreans are awkward with foreigners! - Korea is a Confucian culture. From an early age, we constantly learn to be considerate, humble, and respectful. That's why most Koreans don't discriminate!! (No country in the world is free from racism. Exceptions always exist) In fact, Korea is the safest country for travelers and you will feel it when you come to Korea. 2. Koreans are perfectionists. For a Korean to speak a foreign language, it is necessary to be able to converse at the level of a local! Most of the young people can speak English basicly! - The reason foreigners feel unkind to Koreans is that Koreans 'can't help you perfectly in your language' (Of course, this is gradually improving 😀) 3. Most foreigners I see speak 100% native language in Korea. In Korea, when traveling abroad, I think it's polite to learn a little bit of the language of that country. But all the foreigners I have seen in Korea come to me in English or their mother tongue. Everyone, please respect Korean! If you come to Korea by studying at least a minimum of Korean, it will be a really enjoyable trip! "sillyehnida" (Excuse me) If you approach Koreans in Korean, Koreans will help you like family, even if it's the first time they've met you!! I hope you all feel the beautiful "jeong" culture! (Google Translator)
안녕하세요, I'm African American. I LIVE in Korea. Korea definitely discriminates. However, thanks for your perspective about why "some" Koreans won't offer assistance to foreigners because they feel they need to speak a language perfectly. That was very enlightening:) I also think people tend to believe Seoul is indicative of the attitudes of the entire country. This is not accurate. Step outside of Seoul and it's a different vibe entirely. Content provider- thanks for the post, I'm picking up my elderly mother from the airport and she arrives in 2 days. Great timing on me finding this video for her.
Protesting...Korea's national pastime. I arrived in Seoul on 7/2 but since I have the F4 visa, I only had to complete the Q-Code documentation. Unbelievably, we had friends show up at the airport not knowing about the K-ETA process delaying their trip to Korea by a day I think.
@@karina.letheia If you hold a valid Korean visa such as C-3, C-4, F-4, etc., then you do not need to get K-ETA according to the Consulate General of the ROK in San Francisco. I would check with the Korean consulate in your country.
Hi, thanks for the info! I will be going to Korea in coming Oct, just to check with you, do we need to wait at the Incheon Airport after we done the PCR test in airport until we get the result or can we just head to our next destination after we done with the PCR test and just wait for the result to be delivered to our email? Appreciate your kind response :)
You don’t have to wait! After taking it just head to where you’re going. They’ll let you know your results by email and if you need to do anything then. For us we got to our hotel checked in and just stayed until the results before going about our day.
Wow! There are so many people visiting my home town~ We kindly welcome you all guys. Leave any comments if you have any questions. Hope you all have safe and beautiful trip in Korea. :) ^^~
Thank you this video is very helpful. I’m travelling to Korea in two weeks time. I’m just not sure which test should I take: PCR or RTK. I am honestly leaning more to RTK as it is much cheaper. I plan to get it 4hrs before my flight. Question: should your pre-departure test result still be with within the 24hr testing requirement?
No. That’s just uploaded to Q Code once you get your results. Otherwise you would need to show a copy of your result when landing if you don’t plan to submit via q code
Can I check when I take the on-arrival PCR test in Incheon Airport, while waiting for the results, can I still fly to Jeju? Or I have to stay in a hotel within Seoul/Incheon? Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated.
They don’t require you to stay anywhere specifically actually. It’s just “recommended.” So technically you could continue to Jeju. Especially if that’s where your first staying
I had COVID and 50 days have passed and test negative in rapid and pcr. However, my best friend also traveling got COVID 2 weeks ago and time has passed. She test negative for rapid but still positive for PCR. Note that it’s been shown than you can test positive in pcr even close to 3 months after being infected. My question is, do they take this into consideration with a doctors note and proof of test date? I’m scared that we know she doesn’t have COVID anymore but what if she still test positive? We dont want to cancel the trip. :(
Also we tried to get rapid on arrival but it only lets us do pcr. Any recommendations of where to get rapid instead? Or is that not possible? Hope someone sees this, thanks in advance!
Oh no! This is a tough situation. It will require you to take a PCR test. No rapid test is possible for arrival testing. That being said you may want to check the website I linked for the arrival test to see if there’s any info on if a doctors note could be provided since your friend tested positive a couple of weeks back.
Hello! Thank you for your informative vlog! For ART pre departure test, did you do a tele-supervised ART or you had to be physically there at the clinic? As I only saw supervised Tele-ART option on Raffles website. Thank you for your response : )
You aren’t allowed to do tele supervised. Must be in person! Raffles does have supervised in person ART option as well. I’d double check the website. Or use the Raffles Connect app!
If the passport photo meets the same size criteria should be fine! And we lucked out with the rain. Didn’t really see any of it. Maybe one or two days of a little rain. But since it’s hot out it’s quite refreshing
Thanks! this was super informative. I am really anxious now as my K-ETA is still not yet approved. I applied it yesterday (Thursday), planning to travel to Korea on next Tuesday. Hopefully they do respond over the weekend, and within 72 hours. Can i ask about the ART you did in Singapore? How long does it take for raffles to provide you guys with the negative result?
Oh wow! I think you should hear back before Tuesday...That's quite a ways away and they typically should be within 72 hours. But sometimes if there was an error, they may take longer to process and will ask you to resubmit. Hopefully not the case for you! ART results were immediate. We sat ate breakfast and 15-20 mins after we took the test we got the results.
been scrolling through the comments for awhile but not sure if anyone asked… what sim cards did you use in korea? did you buy from the convenient store at the airport? wondering if there’s any recommendations!
Hi! I believe convenience stores are no issue. There's also booths at the airport you can purchase them at right after you pick up your bags. We personally did roaming with our existing cell phone plan as it was pretty reasonable price. You can also check out sites like Klook.com and they typically offer deals for SIM cards and can actually mail you them before you depart even.
Thanks, helpful video! I definitely agree about Scoot's app (and website) for that matter sucking! I had so many issues that I finally book a pair of flights with another airline.
Hey guys, I'd like to thank you all for all this useful information i really appreciate it.. I have one question regrading the pcr test taken at the airport.. I didn't get where to pick the reserve/pick slot from
Great video, very informative! I am traveling to South Korea in October for 3 days. I was wondering when you guys were departing at Incheon did anyone ask to see your PCR test results, the ones you did upon arrival? I am also entering Korea for 18 hours after my trip to Vietnam and wonder if I can get away without having to do another PCR test upon arrival.
Upon exit the plane you had Qcode...others did not..so the line for them was longer?? I understand you do NOT have to fill out the Qcode at all,,just present the documents you filled out on the plane and they will check them all...which takes more time of course...
Hi, wanted to enquire if one of your family members were tested positive few weeks before landing in Korea, how is the procedure knowing the possibilities that the PCR might be positive since they were tested positive recently.
There’s no way for sure to know. But few weeks is quite a bit of time. If you want to you can always test before and see what the results are. Maybe even just an art home test just before going to see if that is positive.
Every airline has specific dimensions for maximum check in size. I suggest looking at the airline website and it’ll tell you. Covid vaccination is not required anymore for travel to Korea
hi me and my friend will be going to korea next year and isnt sure on what to do to have a smooth board to the plane . so just to make sure can the hardcopys that are needed to board the plane to korea will be K-eta,art test and?
Things can be quite different by next year but as of now it’s k eta (this depends on the country you hold a passport in), no need for pre departure test anymore, Q Code, and arrival pcr test.
@@ChiusTravel are flight arrives at around 11pm in incheon. That's why I'm not sure if there's still testing center at that time. I'll try to call the airport customer service to confirm 😊

Omg thank you so much for this video! I'm intending to go on my first solo trip to Korea in early August, do you have any places to recommend or things I should take note of in when in Seoul for security and safety purposes?
That’ll be a fun trip!! Safety is pretty ok here! I would just say depending on the areas things can be pretty crowded. So for example in Itaewon when we went or Hongdae big crowds form so I’d recommend keeping things close to you. Such as bags in front of you instead of wearing behind.
@@ChiusTravel I see! Thanks for the tip. Is language barrier an issue over there? As I kinda don't speak or know korean. Perhaps just the basic greetings and what not.
This is such a useful video thank you! question about the KETA visa, I'm travelling to Busan and Seoul so which address do I put in the KETA form? I saw you went to both in your vlogs so curious to know what you did!
Good question! We ended up putting our initial address in Seoul where we were for a couple of nights first. They didn’t specify what to put but I imagine it would be where you may be first as the information is likely so they know where to contact you in case the result comes back positive.
Hello, at 5:32 time stamp, when you mean book your appointment, where do you book that appointment, or how? You mention you booked it an hour before landing
Hi! It’s online! I linked the Incheon airport Covid test booking in my description I believe. But we booked it a few days before flying. When you book online you will book a time slot and suggestion is to do one hour after your expected arrival time
I haven’t made it through the full video yet but incase no answered, do you know if you’re allowed to leave the airport with a K-ETA if you have a 15hr layover at Incheon Airport?
@@ChiusTravel I’m amazed at your quick response and the amount of information in your video! I’ve never been through this airport and am travelling solo, your video and response has information so hard to find online. THANK YOU!
Thank you guys for this video, so informative! I was planning to go to Korea in mid October but I’m still on the fence cause all of the requirements. Is it as hard and complicated as it sounds? Do you recommend going now or wait till next year? Do you need to have a ticket to apply for the visa? Flights are not cheap so I’m scared something goes wrong…did you guys change money at the airport? Thanks again!
I think it depends on how eager you are to travel! It was not as complex as it was an anxiety filled experience. For currency exchange we just used the ATM at the airport. Luckily we have a debit card with a bank (Charles Schwab) that refund atm fees for international use so it ends up being much better then a currency exchange counter. Especially at the airport.
You can almost certainly go to your bank in advance of leaving to do the currency exchange, as well. Just make sure to go maybe a week in advance because chances are your local branch isn't sitting on a trove of Won on site. They'll have to order it for you. I bank with Chase and my foreign currency deliveries all come within 2 days, but usually the day after placing the order. Your bank most likely won't charge you a transaction fee on top of the exchange rate, either. Also, keep in mind that for the most part unless you're buying from a street vendor or paying for something under 10,000 KRW you can almost certainly pay with you credit card. So, you don't need to bring everything you intend to spend in cash. Put Samsung Pay on your phone add your cards there and you won't even need to take the plastic out of your wallet in most cases. Do keep in mind that many cards charge up to a 3% foreign transaction fee, so check with your card issuer. This ultimately washes out since your credit card is going to do conversion at the current mid-market rate, whereas currency conversion, even at the bank is at a higher premium.
@@dancanning3921 great tip! Getting currency from your bank is a good option! And 100% agree that most places will generally take credit card. We use Chase Sapphire Reserve and have it set up on our Apple Pay. The card is ideal for travel as it doesn’t charge a foreign transaction fee.
Heading to S. Korea inTHREE DAYS 😬 I'm trying to make sure I have everything done and am just checking my work. ✔️ Any suggestions for our itinerary? We want to travel to Busan one or two days, maybe Jeju Island, I'm not sure yet, but for the most part we want to stay around Seoul.
So much to see and do! Depends on what your interests are and how long you’ll be there! We did Busan and Seoul. If you want some ideas feel free to check out the other vlogs we put up for South Korea 🤗
Thank you guys such a helpful video. We are going to Korea in a few days and I think we’ve got everything that we need in order, but I do have one question. We made appointments to have our arrival COVID tests in the Seoul airport, but how much time should we allow between our scheduled arrival and the covid test? Right now I’ve got it set up for about 45 minutes after our arrival time but now I’m thinking that’s probably cutting it too close? Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
One hour would be my recommendation if you don’t have checked bags. Maybe add a bit more time if you do. But you’ll likely be able to show up late with no issues if you show up a little after your appointment. It was pretty quiet in the testing area for us.
Thanks for the vlog. Very informative! Did you say we do not have to take pre-departure Covid test to enter Korea after Sept 3 ? I'm planning to go there in October, and not taking the pre departure Covid test I think is a great news. By the way, I've tried to open up the link for Q Code and it is all in Korean. Any other link perhaps ? Thanks once again for your useful information. Much appreciated.
Yup that’s correct! No more pre departure test!! Woo! Try this link. It should auto set to English. Otherwise there should be a language selector on the top right corner in the page itself. cov19ent.kdca.go.kr/cpassportal/biz/beffatstmnt/main.do?lang=en
I'm sooo glad I found your video, it's really helpful! I'm now not so anxious about all these procedures 😂Do we need a korean number/SIM card for the test results to be sent to us? Also, do you know if any PCR or ART test is required when travelling from Seoul back to Singapore?
No test needed going back to Singapore. And no need for a number to get results. It’s emailed to you. The number can just be a number of where you’re staying like a hotel for ex.
It’s required. Has to be within one day of arriving. But you don’t need to stay and wait for the results. They will email you the results and any follow up if necessary. They recommend you head to your accommodation and wait for the results there
Hello there! Maybe someone can help my as I couldn't find an answer in all those very informative comments and in the video. I'm going to South Korea next week and just started to fill out my Q-Code. I understand, that i of course only can upload my test result shortly before the flight, but it also won't let me fill in all the other health information about symptoms etc. Is that also bc they need an "up-to-date" information about my health situation? Thank you in advance and thank you so much for the video! It helped me so much to get an overview and all the details!
Hi! Most likely because it’s not close enough to the date of the flight so like you mentioned it probably won’t let you until you’re able to submit test results. The good thing is the rest of it should be quick to fill out and you’ll get your QCode immediately.
If you have a long-term visa for Korea, you can skip the airport testing and go to a Public Health Center instead. You can just walk in with your passport and ticket that shows you came from another country. The test will be FREE. :)
Ehhh,,, I really don't know why this is not usually advertised to foreigners who visit Korea but a... Koreans, living in Seoul, actually prefer to take the airport limousine bus. For your destination, I would take the 6701 bus which you get in just in front of gate between gate 7 & 8. Yeah, 1st floor to get to ur hotel where it stops just across the street. It costs 18,000 KRW which is not bad as you rest and see the sights as you take a rest at a 1+2 vip seat limo. bus.
So jealous of you guys. Was planning a korea trip by the end of august but had to cancel because of insane ticket prices and the too many risks traveling with covid. I have to wait until probably april next year
Hi There:) thanks for the video:) i going to Korea around Oct but just worry if i tested Positive after the PRC test in Korea, will there any arrangment from the korea side for the 7 days quarantine location? hope it wont happen!
Hi, awesome video super informative, can i just check with you if im departing from korea to sg but my flight will stop at taipei for an hour in between, will i need to take any pcr test or provide any documents to them? Awaiting your kind reply thank you so much ^-^
For Taiwan I don’t think so. Because you will just transit through. But you’ll still need to take the pre departure test in SG before flying off. Could be ART or PCR.
@@ChiusTravel Ohhhh thanks thanks so much, Can i double check 1 more thing as well, if my flight is on 10 december 3:55am i would have to take the ART test the day before?on 9 december whatsoever time? Once i get the result i just need to submit on Q code before 9 december 2359 yes?
@@ChiusTravel woah you really have been so helpful and clearing everyone doubts, thank you honestly for the patience and effort in you replying to everyone🙏
So for PCR it needs to be 48 hours from day of departure. Meaning if you’re flying Nov 9 then PCR must be taken from Nov 7th onwards. The time that you take the test won’t be important. So you can do Nov 7 in the morning if you wanted to
omg this video is sosososo helpful, i am planning to go to Seoul in the end of July, should i start to apply everything that u said in the video right now or one week before my flight? Also, since I got tested indeterminate for the PCR before, I am pretty nervous if I will get the same result from the local south korea PCR test too. however, u guys are amazing, making this type if video is not easy at all, super appreciate it.
I’d say go for applying with everything you can at this point including Q Code up until you have to wait to take your ART or PCR before flying off. I’m not sure how long ago your PCR was that you tested indeterminate but hopefully won’t be an issue. I will say they only swabbed one nostril very shallow and quick. So who knows if what they’re doing is the most accurate anyway 😂. But good luck! You’ll have so much fun!
Thank you so much for the video! Just wondering - is booking the PCR when we arrive required? Or are they able to do walk ins? We’re going to get to the airport at around 9pm..
I believe walk ins are ok. But we’d recommend booking in advance to be safe in case there are queues. You also don’t need to pay in advance when you book. You pay when you arrive. So booking online is just to register a time slot
Yes in the video we mention that we took the test then went to the hotel and checked in and just waited until we got the results. We got them few hours later
hi, can you provide information on getting a sim card? I read online you can prepay sim card (data only) and pick up at the airport (ICN). Do you know the site? and company? Also, do you know if you need a booster covid shot to travel to Korea?
Right after baggage claim and when you exit to the pickup area there are a few stalls that sell SIM cards. It was quite busy so I imagine it’s reliable. We personally just did a roaming plan with our existing sim. If you go to Klook.com website I think they offer online purchase and pick up at airport. You no longer get need to be vaccinated to go to Korea so having a booster isn’t required anymore.
Thank you for the super informative video! Making my travel plan to Seoul much easier. 1 question that I have, is at the point of filling up the K-ETA and Q-Code, a Korean number is one of the mandatory fields. Do we need to have a Korean number on hand at the point of application for both K-ETA and Q-Code? How do you go about this?
We ended up providing our hotels main phone number. So if your accommodations has a main line perhaps you can just use that. They never questioned us using it. But I think it was required field before submitting so hopefully you’ve got some phone number to use!
I recently applied for KETA using my sg phone number, by adding 0065 at the front and the application for KETA was approved so maybe you can try that as well if your accoms doesn't have any contact number to use for eg. an Airbnb~
Hello Harry, by any chance do you face any issues on the 'Input Health Condition Information' section? The section whereby we need to select the countries that we have visited 14 days or 21 days. What if there's no countries visited, are we allowed to leave it blank? Because I wasn't able to submit as I was prompt to select the countries visited.
There is a limit to the size of the image and Suggested dimensions. I think ours was 500 or less pixels squared. When you get to the step in the application process it will tell you the specifics. www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/
Hello, I have a question on the pre-departure ART to Korea. I will be flying off on 31 Aug at 2315hrs Singapore time, but I've made an appointment on 31 Aug at 0900hrs. Should I change the appointment date and time? As I'm confused on the time.
@@Eddy-pq6ge nope no need to worry! If you leave Aug 31 no matter what time on that day you can actually even take your test any time on Aug 30th and still be ok. As long as it’s one calendar day before departure you’re ok.
Quite a few of you have been asking similar questions so wanted to just answer a few of the most commonly asked questions:

Much appreciated and thank you so much for all your effort in giving us information, bless you both!! Greetings from Ireland
So glad this helped and hope you have an amazing time when you come to Korea! Such a great country!!
It pretty humid hot here at Seoul so be prepared.
Aww so lucky
@@NangNangEE Korea is less hotter than other of the world such as US and Europe.
Thank you for all this info. Traveling next week so this helps a ton 💖
Have fun!
My wife and I just bought tickets for our trip to South Korea in May 2023, and we're super excited! Thank you for the explanation of all the things you had to do to get cleared for entry.
I'd like to give you a warm welcome in advance.
Hello all, I know that most of you are curious about the travel requirements into South Korea from abroad so I just wanted to pin a note here with some updates that will apply soon. More information can be found here: english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRV/TV_ENG_1_COVID.jsp
July 14th: You will be able to input your test result into the Q Code system in case you take your PCR test and are just confused with what you do after receiving your results. At this point you’re required to take a PCR within 3 days of arrival.
July 25th: you will be required to take the PCR test on arrival within ONE DAY of arrival vs the current 3 days. They will also require that you stay at your accommodations immediately after taking your test until you receive your results.
this was exactly the video I needed! thanks guys. so there is no 14 day quarantine? after landing?
Nope. As long as you’re Covid negative!
@@ChiusTravel Do you have to be vaccinated? I am reading mixed reports!
No! You need to test before flying though
@@ChiusTravel awesome thanks!
Newest update: As of September 3 you will no longer be required to take a pre-departure Covid test when entering South Korea 🎉🎉🎉
☺️ appreciate the support and glad that it’s helpful for you! Enjoy the rest of the stuff and hope it gets you and your mom excited for the trip!!

Wow that video was so good!! Didn't know about the q code, and PCR on the arrival. The lady on the embassy where I live didn't say about that, only 48 hours prior to the trip. Thanks so much for sharing.
Lots to take care of for sure.
This is absolutely fantastic, I needed this so badly it is so complicated getting everything you need to go to South Korea, thank you!

hi thank you so much for the information. i'm going to seoul next month. i'm so gonna refer this vid for my preparation 😊
Incredible video. Very helpful - will travel in October and only had the keta. Gotta check everything else!
Thank you so much for this super great information, glad to find it. Planning to go in October and your tips's good help.
You guys are really nice and have lot of patience answering every questions... i'm a new subscriber 😊
Heading to Korea on Tuesday and this was unbelievably helpful. Subscribed to your channel! Thanks so much for your help!
Hope your trip goes well!!
Thank you very much for this! I'm going to Korea next month and this is so helpful .

you pay only for the distance traveled
minimum fare is good for 10km (i think)
if you transfer to a 2nd bus (within 30 minutes?) and your total distance traveled is less than 10km (for the 2 buses), you do not pay at the 2nd bus
good also between subway and buses
you have to tap in and tap out!
This is great info! Thank you!
Q code is immediate after submission! But totally go for Rapid test!! I see no reason to do PCR
@@ChiusTravel Awesome! Thank you! That’s one less thing to worry about then.
How many days before the flight we should get the Q code? Thanks
You can start q code any time before. But you can’t finish it until you get your pre departure Covid test result.
Thank you so much for this video, I'm feeling a lot less anxiety about travelling next week! Also by pure chance I'm staying at the same hotel as you, so the tips are so useful :)

@Korea Travel Notes@
1. Korea is a homogeneous nation
Korea has only recently become famous abroad and is attracting more and more tourists. Most Koreans are awkward with foreigners!
- Korea is a Confucian culture. From an early age, we constantly learn to be considerate, humble, and respectful. That's why most Koreans don't discriminate!! (No country in the world is free from racism. Exceptions always exist)
In fact, Korea is the safest country for travelers and you will feel it when you come to Korea.
2. Koreans are perfectionists.
For a Korean to speak a foreign language, it is necessary to be able to converse at the level of a local! Most of the young people can speak English basicly!
- The reason foreigners feel unkind to Koreans is that Koreans 'can't help you perfectly in your language' (Of course, this is gradually improving 😀)
"sillyehnida" (Excuse me)
If you approach Koreans in Korean, Koreans will help you like family, even if it's the first time they've met you!! I hope you all feel the beautiful "jeong" culture! (Google Translator)
Wow these are some really good tips!! I definitely agree it’s worth foreigners learning some phrases in the language of the country they’re visiting!
안녕하세요, I'm African American. I LIVE in Korea. Korea definitely discriminates. However, thanks for your perspective about why "some" Koreans won't offer assistance to foreigners because they feel they need to speak a language perfectly. That was very enlightening:)
I also think people tend to believe Seoul is indicative of the attitudes of the entire country. This is not accurate. Step outside of Seoul and it's a different vibe entirely.
Content provider- thanks for the post, I'm picking up my elderly mother from the airport and she arrives in 2 days. Great timing on me finding this video for her.
Hope your Mother has a wonderful visit with you and really hope there are no issues during her stay and for you while you continue to live in Korea!
Aw man. Yeah KETA is so crucial!!
does it mean that those who have visa dont need to have K-ETA?

Yup! Any time within 24 hours is ok. So 4 hrs before is no problem!
@@ChiusTravel and when I arrive in Korea do they still check the testing period of my pre-departure test?

Thanks for the update...planning to visit seoul for year end vacation. Hopefully no more 2nd Pcr Test
Things keep changing so yes hopefully less and less restrictions 🎉

Can I upload a pic of my passport photo? Was given an extra copy..also how was the rain beginning of July?

Hi! I believe convenience stores are no issue. There's also booths at the airport you can purchase them at right after you pick up your bags. We personally did roaming with our existing cell phone plan as it was pretty reasonable price. Upon exit the plane you had Qcode...others did not..so the line for them was longer?? I understand you do NOT have to fill out the Qcode at all,,just present the documents you filled out on the plane and they will check them all...which takes more time of course...
That’s correct. Line was a bit longer for non q code folks because they need to present all documents there
Hi, wanted to enquire if one of your family members were tested positive few weeks before landing in Korea, how is the procedure knowing the possibilities that the PCR might be positive since they were tested positive recently.
There’s no way for sure to know. But few weeks is quite a bit of time. If you want to you can always test before and see what the results are. Maybe even just an art home test just before going to see if that is positive.

@@ChiusTravel THANK YOU!

Yes that’s what I heard! Lucky for the long term folks!
What’s considered long term?
@@jenniferthomas9172 Any visa that allows you to stay for 91 days or more... usually for work or study..
It costs 18,000 KRW which is not bad as you rest and see the sights as you take a rest at a 1+2 vip seat limo. bus.
So plz,,, study more, ask a kind and wise Korean commenters like me before you visit a place. hehe ^^
Good to know!!
do we go to testing and immigration and all that first and then go get the checked bags at the baggage claim? or the other way around
Other way around. First immigration (including submitting your q code or documents), then collecting bags, then testing
@@ChiusTravel and for the testing we can take the test there and leave right after to our hotel right? no need to stay and wait for result there?
@@WinterMuffin correct
So jealous of you guys. Was planning a korea trip by the end of august but had to cancel because of insane ticket prices and the too many risks traveling with covid. I have to wait until probably april next year
😭 sorry to hear but yeah things are more challenging with Covid. But maybe by next April things will be normal again!
I'd like to give you a warm welcome in advance.
Is an antigen test possible on arrival to Korea instead of PCR?
It has to be a PCR unfortunately.
Thanks for the information! How do you book the PCR test in Korea airport?
Check out the description of the video! I linked it directly there for you 🤗
Thanks for the vid! Helps alot! Just want to ask what time ur PCR test result came out? (From airport test)
It was between 1-2pm! Took the test 10am
@@ChiusTravel thank you very much!
Thank you for this informative video!
Hi There:) thanks for the video:)
i going to Korea around Oct but just worry if i tested Positive after the PRC test in Korea, will there any arrangment from the korea side for the 7 days quarantine location?
hope it wont happen!
Hopefully won’t happen! We were also worried!! I think if it does then yes there will be some sort of required quarantine!
@@ChiusTravel thank man ! :)
do you have to be changing your address in your QR or something every time you visit another city/stay at another place?
No. Just put your first address in when you arrive
@@jamesyang4540 yup correct! You can take an ART any time on Dec 9.
@@ChiusTravel woah you really have been so helpful and clearing everyone doubts, thank you honestly for the patience and effort in you replying to everyone🙏
Thanks by the way
I got last month my 3rd vaccine , is the pcr needed in this case ?
Regardless of vaccination status everyone is required to take a pre departure test and arrival PCR test
Hi
I will go to Korea on November 9 at 11am for two weeks from USA
Which day can I get pcr test before departure?
Thạnk you for help.
Thank you for your video. It helps a lot.
@@Westhamthegreatestteam oh no. Thanks for letting me know. We will be travelling to Korea at the end of this month. Hope everyone is safe over there.
How long did you guys wait for the test results of the PCR to come out? Were you allowed to go out of the airport?
Yes in the video we mention that we took the test then went to the hotel and checked in and just waited until we got the results. We got them few hours later
You guys are quite a cute couple. This was enjoyable.
🤗
Hi I didn’t see kids or toddler around, during your pcr test in incheon. I just wanna know if toddlers are exempted to do the pcr test? Thank you.
I think the requirement is above the age of 6. You may want to go to the Q Code link in my description. It should explain more there.
hi, can you provide information on getting a sim card?
@@ChiusTravel I see! Thank you so much for the prompt response🙏
I meant the Q-code
Just input the current country you’re in. I believe that’s what we did.
@@ChiusTravel got it!! I will just input Singapore if I'm staying here? Am I right? Haha
@@Eddy-pq6ge yup exactly!
@@ChiusTravel Thank you millions much, Harry!! You have been such a great help for me!!
Great Video. Was there size limit for the passport scan upload? Thx
There is a limit to the size of the image and Suggested dimensions. I think ours was 500 or less pixels squared. When you get to the step in the application process it will tell you the specifics. www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/
Hi! Thank you for these updated info! Did you take your pcr test in the east or west of the airport? Thank you
We took it West. BUT East and West are right next to each other (30 steps away) so don't think it matters which you choose.
Hello, I have a question on the pre-departure ART to Korea. I will be flying off on 31 Aug at 2315hrs Singapore time, but I've made an appointment on 31 Aug at 0900hrs. Should I change the appointment date and time? As I'm confused on the time.
That’s fine! You’re taking the test same day as departure so no need to change
@@ChiusTravel Because I was thinking its less than 1 day, and I am worried about it. 😢
@@Eddy-pq6ge nope no need to worry! If you leave Aug 31 no matter what time on that day you can actually even take your test any time on Aug 30th and still be ok. As long as it’s one calendar day before departure you’re ok.
@@ChiusTravel Thank you so much Harry!! It really helps alot. Your clip was so helpful and appreciate your reply too and ease my worries too!!
