This and A Gift from the Stars were the only times in Beginner Lobby I looked up a guide because I didn’t feel like actually solving the puzzles after playing through like 70% of both levels
same, but i actually tried hard for a gift from the stars before looking up a guide because it actually had an environment and atmosphere a gift from the stars felt more like a puzzle, dropzle just feels like a sequence of inputs
I had to clear that one room in a gift from the stars by doing a short hyper and just running past the door before it could shut completely because I just couldn't figure out how to get the third shard.
The room before last one is just a hell for brute forcers like the youtuber or myself. And it prepares you enough for the last one. I think I got it first try too, but the room before took me around 30 minutes ngl
not quite subpixel perfect but 7d1d 2k-3, with d1d7 2k-3 being multiple fraction of a pixel perfect drops, 7d1d 2k-3 has setups for them that make them relatively easy in comparison
@@kyokajiro1808 those are only subpixel dependant because of movement speed and acceleration. the gaps are pixel perfect and you cant make a gap that kills someone on certain subpixels and doesnt for others if the person is on the same pixel. the difference with 2k3 is that you have a very small amount of time to move into that gap, so you have to hold the direction for a certain amount of frames and then if you had the right subpixels you move into the right pixel
I hated this map so much. I'm so glad I played it back when that second-to-last puzzle was pixel perfectable, I would have died if I'd needed to solve it
I played it as intended and had a lot of fun solving the puzzles, although a couple times the intrusive thoughts won and I managed the jump so I just restarted the map
just want to say It is pixel perfect because There isn't that many pixels in celeste, although I think that sub pixel perfect jumps are a thing and I don't know why they didn't make them sub pixel perfect
It would be really hard to make a puzzle map with sub-pixel line-ups. Typically sub-pixels only matter for tight maneuvers in motion (like falling through a series of pixel perfect gaps). Since collision is pixel based, sub pixels (and their setups) feel random, unless your a literal TAS.
yeah subpixels are a much less consistent thing to deal with, having setups for those would be more complicated than a simple vertical lineup and I didn’t want the base premise to be too convoluted for players new to modding-besides, if people are averse to going through the puzzles, I’m fine with having a relatively doable skip option so nobody ends up too frustrated
Even as someone who likes puzzle games, this map is a disappointment. A puzzle game needs to not punish mistakes, but celeste as a game aims to make every mistake meaningful, which is just not the case in puzzle games. A puzzle game where every puzzle or even gameplay mistake sends you to the start would not sell well.
@@MaidenOfAir agreed. pointless machines was kinda cool, solving that lost woods berry with a friend was fun, and the two in the beginner lobby actually have interesting solutions for the rooms once you get past the "oh i have to do puzzles" part
Pixel perfect my ass i know a piwel perfect drop when i see one and this ain’t pixel perfect (yes i played and finnished the map half with puzzle half like that)

Too relatable

bro casually gets the last jump first try

intended strat
Truly the way it was meant to be played
Next time we need to figure out how to make subpixel perfect puzzles without requiring people to be a TAS

Just jump in and pray you live

I silver full cleared it without solving a single puzzle and it made me the most popular person in celestenet for a day
I feel like that map doesn't belong in a lobby, like it's a very cool idea, but I wanna play Celeste, not slide blocks
I genuinely don’t think anyone actually played this map
I like the puzzles. (Played as intended.) :3
Though I did eyeball the first room just bc, I reset and did the puzzle. Just bc I can.
I played as intended too

Same, it was really neat, including the secrets
i did!!!!!!!
race's screams of agony made this 10x better
just want to say It is pixel perfect because There isn't that many pixels in celeste, although I think that sub pixel perfect jumps are a thing and I don't know why they didn't make them sub pixel perfect
Probably because they knew people wouldn't be interested in the puzzles

when i played this i accidentally did one of the pixel perfect drops when trying to just solve the puzzle normally
i accidentally did 3 of the skips with only 1 death in-between
proceeded to do the same a second time later in the map
what did I just watch
its perfect
Thanks :)
I think
it's pixel-perfect
(where's the exit)
This is exactly what I did but I somehow first tried half of the gaps.
Learn the setups, I beat that large room at the end with all the subpixel drops on my first attempt after using the setups that let you skip it all
it's not in the spirit of the map? well i don't care!
i did like 5 rooms then brute forced it
i brute forced the entire thing for fun.
Celeste players when puzzle
This is pretty much my experience as well.
oh god why are there so much blood
I solved only like 1 or 2 puzzles on this map
And in A Gift From The Stars i just gave up and used 3rd dash at some point
perfect music choice for silly goofers

i love this video
Literally me
lol that’s how I beat it
It was a puzzle map?
Im complete, and i hate final room
i did it very legit
go on silver it
literally no one cares abt the spirit of a puzzle map in an otherwise precision platformer lmao
I actually really like the puzzle maps in SJ and SC2020
Literally I (cat) care abt the spirit of the puzzle maps in a precision / puzzle platformer. troll-face
Seriously. I just want to play the game, if I wanted puzzles I'd play portal.

Its not hard but honestly pretty fun to do
