    "If you've ever taken a long break from bowling" - Took a 15 year break, used to average ~230 highschool just started back up in a beer league 3 weeks ago and carrying a "solid" 150 lmao. This video is for me
    Edit: The approach so far is fantastic. Great mindset and what I've been going through. The first few weeks it was a struggle just to find my foot work, rhythm and release. Tuesday was the first night it felt like it used to. Not stressing about results just trying to find *it* again. Glad you guys are focusing on that and allowing grace in failure at the start!

    9:48 is the most important part of this entire video for me. I was SUPER competitive in my early 20's. Bowling as many tournaments as I could and doing reasonably well in them. Averaging 230+ in league. When I came back after an injury and 6 years, I was miserable. I was pissed off half the time I was bowling, even though I was averaging 210. Recently I've been trying to have more fun at bowling and measuring my expectations after someone in my league said "I didn't even think you liked bowling that much"
    I'm now averaging back in the 225+ range and having more fun.

    7:46 I used to struggle with having a strong follow through and what helped me was to exhale hard right at the release. It keeps my body relaxed up until the bottom of the swing right before the release! The breathing also helps with my tempo which is very important

    Watched this video earlier today... tried the "v" technique and ended up rolling my 1st 300 ever! (Came close many times but never sealed the deal) Coincidence.... maybe, but just thought I'd throw it out there! Good tips my guys! I was also a bowler who took 15 years off from bowling in juniors until joining my Friday night league 6 years ago.

    Great tips. For me it was always ‘waiting’ for the ball at the bottom of the swing. If I got ahead of myself with the ball, absolutely nothing on it. If I was behind, the famous double dribble. Actually, I am not waiting for anything, it just feels that way when timing is right.

    In practice today I was losing consistency until I noticed I wasnt posting easily.
    It's usually a sign that the ball is too far away from ya bod.

    Came back to bowling two years ago after 18 year layoff. Now at 67, my mechanics are good but my issue is the mental game. Bowl well in practice and tournaments but am lost in league most days. Have the yips on spares and it is extremely frustrating. I know what I need to do but the brain and body are not on the same page.

    Sup Packy! Thanks for the awesome performance of your carrier! I am under 20, that’s all I’m gonna say, but I shot 158 twice in two days which is ok. Like I said before I am still new to bowling, only have been bowling for 3 years and on my fourth right now. Average is about 147 ish I think. My highest game is 200. I am a right hander, that’s bowls two-handed
    Edit: I have a question for you Packy, what bowling app do you use to see your rev rate, your throwing position, hook position, etc. like the thing us viewers seen for the lanes while watching the PBA tour on TV?

    @CliftonDon74 Месяц назад +1

    Thanks! Practice your spare on the first shot, then practice your strike shot on the 2nd throw is definitely something I will try the next time I practice. My balance has been pretty good, as long as I maintain good posture, proper swing, and keeping my hand under the ball, I can get many strikes. I had 27 strikes in a 3 game league set the other day for a 758 series. 1 open (split) and 6/6 makeable spares.

    I know you’re sponsored by a ball company, but for most bowlers, the best money is spent on coaching. Lucky for guys like you, though, people think the answer is a $200 ball that has a .01 difference in Rg from the last one they bought. Then they sand it to act like the last 4 they bought because they bowl on house conditions. That is humorous

    • @candycamaro
      @candycamaro Месяц назад

      However, lessons are way more in-depth with multiple balls. I mean some situations require maybe a urethane with a high polish and some where a reactive with a rougher finish. I get not always when it comes to a generic house patern. But fresh oiled lanes vs high traffic you're gonna switch.

    • @thomasleonard9685
      @thomasleonard9685 Месяц назад

      @ yeah. True. But all the rocks in the world won’t help bad form and inconsistency. Most people are on house and nothing else so every ball works
