Yes, as a rare stealth mega-enjoyer even I think that loud gameplay is just designed better and there's much more to learn. Just my opinion of course.
Stealth is just mind-numbing and repetitive after a while, which is one of the reason I enjoy it. There are like only 3 builds you can go for stealth, there are some very advanced tech you can learn for stealth but it doesn't feel that fun or anything.
Loud is more mechanically challenging (and fun I guess) and there are hundreds of builds you can do with deep learning curves, with aspects of synergy and teamwork built into the characters themselves as opposed to stealth where teamwork is usually from the map design. The maps (more loud maps in the first place) feel more varied with how you would play it compared to spamming stealth. The downside is that you have to play more to get used to all the unexplained mechanics, which are lowkey necessary to survive in higher difficulty compared to stealth where all difficulties are basically played the same way, and also to be able to make a good build for DW+.
Idk how to explain it, but as someone who's played both modes a lot, it feels like stealth is a small side dish to the big entree that is loud PD2, different story in PD3 tho.

The reason why you didn't enjoy PD2 loud is because you weren't equipped with a decent build. Loud is fun, just not when you are level 10. You guys spent an hour stealthing jewelry store on a low difficulty, if you had done it on max difficulty you would have gotten an instant level 40 rather than having to do several heists to get to level 22. The point is that you have low health and low damage because you didn't bring survival or damage skills. If I joined your game, stealthed 2-3 heists with you and gave you a good loud build, you could immediately play the second highest loud difficulty with ease.
Don't get me wrong, it's shit design on PD2's part, but that's just how it goes, the problems you had with it are all solveable within the skilltree and perk deck menus.

I'd say there's a few reason why you didn't really enjoy loud gameplay, especially at the start:
    1. You're playing on Very Hard, while being a completely new player. You should really play on Normal and Hard until you feel comfortable with them, then raise difficulty.
    2. Headshots are very important in this game. Bulldozers are super tanky, unless you shoot them in the face, and heavy swat units can't be damaged to the body with regular weapons and no skills.
    3. You were using quite literally some of the worst weapons in the entire game. Almost anything else would've been more useful.
And as for how the higher difficulties are even doable on loud, it's due to skills and perk decks. They give you such a huge boost, that even as an average player, you could probably take on Mayhem difficulty with them. Considering you had very few skill points at the beginning, no wonder you had trouble with Very Hard.
One last edit: I really hope you're calling yourself a pro unironically.

  • @ZockerAxel
    @ZockerAxel 7 месяцев назад +7

I've got over 200 hours in payday 2 and I still am more a fan of stealth missions even though i know good builds for loud. I don't dislike load missions as much as you though as I like a loud mission now and again but yeah, loud is only enjoyable if you have the build for it which you can't have at low level.
It's crazy to me that I'm in the minority with prefering stealth missions, but the amount of stealth heists vs loud heists tells you what the majority of the player base enjoys.
EDIT: Best things about loud missions is the soundtrack!

Payday 2 loud has one of the most indepth systems to play a shooter of any game out there. Now, we don't blame you for not knowing this, just that this video doesn't do a service for why Payday 2 has survived for so long.
There are so many ways to play loud incredibly well, like any weapon, perk, etc can be used super well and have a niche even on the hardest difficulty and the system when learnt can basically be played however the way you want. Just for reference, even on the hardest difficulty of Death Sentence One Down, you can use the worst perks/weapons, melee/saws only, etc. And even with mods that make the ai a lot more aggressive/faster than before. It has been proven time and time again that it is possible if you know how to play. It just goes to show how much the community loves and invested their time into loud that all of this is possible.
Now, we actually have a lot to say about the video/gameplay, so we're splitting up the comments into multiple. This comment is going to be about what to do. Very in depth fundamentals on how to make loud fun/at least a lot more playable. We'll put in a tl;dr in a later comment, but if you have the time can be good to know a lot about what to do. Also, this mainly centres around dsod, which is the hardest difficulty, but even this guide should help at the very least minimise you going down.
For one, this game is a cover based shooter. Cover is the number one important thing to use. You manually go behind it. Bringing this up as you did use cover quite a bit, there were issues of you basically babysitting an area and not putting pressure against the swats which can lead to issues of being overwhelemed or running out into the open and getting killed.
It's an understandable strategy, but something to note is that you have a lot more cover than you think and giving yourself more opportunities to attack the swats. Take 4:40 where the escalator can be used instead. At least you have more space to work with or during prison nightmare, you also had the walls of the chokepoint to also work with and take cover behind after taking too much damage.
It isn't obvious and comes with practice, but this is THE thing to note about surviving other than killing.
The other thing to note is killing a lot. Now, what's funny is your complaint about enemies being too bullet spongey. You straight up disproved that claim by using an lmg and killing swats/bulldozers quick. We get what you mean, the starting assault rifle of the amcar is literally the worst assault rifle in the game. Just funny that you used the poster child of a weapon not needing a damage up even on dsod and using it to do quite well.
Killing a lot is important as you can just prevent swats from killing you and allowing you to have space. This is important as you can do objectives safely if you clear the area of swats. So killing is that opportunity. Lmgs are the easiest as they don't need a damage up, although every other weapon can basically do better if you have the right skills. It's also good to know as it also counters snipers and tasers. They punish rushers so as long as you peek out and kill, they shouldn't be too bad.
When peeking, something you should also get is Basic Bullseye and it is the single best skill in the game. Now this is mainly meant for higher difficulties, but it also helps lower difficulties and builds anyway and is a must take. It is useful in any build besides Stoic. Even Anarchist and Stoic which are 2 decks that have armour regen through doing damage, both can still benefit from bullsye by having it aced so you can tank more.
Also, in terms of issues of shields/captain winters. You know those grenades you had earlier that you accidentally wasted? There's your counter to captain winters. However its good to note that there are multiple ways to kill not only Winters, but also shields in geenral. The grenades are the obvious pick, although something to note is often people have Perk deck throwables or Flashbangs so they arent that commonly used. People often have things like a shield killer secondary such as the 5/7 pistol that pierces shields or a Compact 40mm grenade launcher that... kills shields. This is also good to kill shields and winters at anytime as opposed to the grenades that have a finite amount. There's also primary weapons that have natural shield pierce like thr Sniper rifles, which or op, shotguns bothin the primary and secondary that can be equipped with the Dragons breathe or AP slugs to penetrate shields or even bringing another grenade launcher for the lolz.
And that's not all. Even at worst where you don't have a shield killer weapon, you can still use Aced Shock n awe to counter shields better, although not winters, and it is nice. But even killing winters can be done through coordination. Everyone kills around winters and a person goes behind and shoots winters in the back. Problem solved.
You really should play with perks more. They basically make your build and can dictate how you play. For example, be very tanky and supportive with Muscle with your large health, stun swats with an unsilenced weapon and even take attention away from the swats shooting your friend. Sicario can use a smoke grenade to make an on demand cover and use it to force objectives, help teammates, etc and even survive off timing your own dodge and a lot more that do various things.
Level up the perks and they make life so much easier. Below will be a rough guide on how to use Sicario, which has a lot of ways to play.
So this is a rough guide on how Sicario is played. There's actually more than these few ways, just that these are just the most practical and should give an example on how other health/dodge decks are played. Some are better than others, Like it can benefit from ICTV a lot more than Dodge decks, or that Aced Hostage Taker isn't always taken for various reasons, etc. .
Also, just shows how 1 deck is played. There are so many others like this and doesn't even go into things like HBV or weird perks like Leech, Stoic, Grinder, etc
Sicario is around a top 10 deck in the game for dsod. It is very good, although just not as broken as some of the other decks.
It is a dodge deck that you have to manually time when the dodge happens. Basically you can rough choose when to avoid getting shot. You start off with a bit of dodge and each shot you don't dodge, so if the shot connects, you'll gain 20% extra dodge to increase your chances of dodging and this goes on a short cooldown. This goes on until you dodge your next shot and it negates the damage that you would have absorbed, restores your armour to survive an additional shot and resets your dodge back to what you originally had. It is kinda confusing, but you essentially just pay attention to if you take damage and get to decide when to make pushes, which is pretty strong.
When it breaks and you don't dodge, you can either get a headshot for basic bullseye or wait in cover. You also have access to the smoke grenade which is very strong as you can use it as an on demand cover to do practically anything. Such as clearing the room, doing an objective like fixing the drill, reviving teammaes, etc. And while it has a 1 minute cooldown, it can be reduced by killing which is something you should be doing.
When played right you can essentially survive any combat encounter provided you actually hit heads and have the kills. Basically goes for every deck, although Sicario emphasises that point where you get to use the smoke more and rewards you paying attention.
To use Sicario, you mainly use the Suit as you get the most amount of dodge from the deck and the dodge comes in handy even without Sneaky Bastard (Which is a skill commonly taken on dodge decks) as Sicario gives you +15% dodge, with suit gives +5% dodge and Aced Duck n cover which gives an additional 10% whilst running. You now are very likeky to dodge the next shot.
Though despite this, you could opt for other armours as they may cater to you more eg while I don't think light shots are great to build for, you could still keep it so lights and other units won't trigger the healing and on lower difficulties, it is nice if you prefer the tanking even if you lose a small bit of dodge/ concealment or the ICTV, while expensive and you won't have as much healing, it can provide you more consistent heavy tanking which is incredibly valuable. Also with the ICTV, there are 2 ways to make it work on Sicario, Aced Hostage Taker + Aced Quickfix/Underdog or Basic Frenzy. Both are good options as the Aced Hostage Taker path gives you so much tanking to worth with and with the smoke grenade, youll practically never die and Frenzy is also a good option as it makes the ICTV more tanky and you have a damage boost.
For skills, it is a pretty standard deck as you would want Jokers for distraction/health and Aced Duck and Cover for the extra dodge.
Aced Hostage Taker is also very good to take with Sicario outside of the Frenzy set up as you can tank more damage and use your health as a safety net if you want to maximise your survival/take mistakes.
It's also recommended to take First aid Kits to further increase your survival as you can put it down and use them as trip mines to again force objectives or as extra health. It's also possible to use First Aid Kits only instead of Aced Hostage Taker. Its more difficult to use and less consistent, but it is possible.
Any weapon works with Sicario. Just have to kill a lot is all.

"Heists were you move around were not the vibe, but defence based heists are"
You are going to have to be more specific since they are all one in the same.
In fact, the heists that force you to do objectives are considered more fun since ir is something different. They encourage and challenge you to work you ass off and do something different.
That and even some of the more infamous heists that require you to go out, you still play very defensively. Like take Goat Simulator, a very infamous heist where the best thing to do is to go out and haul all the goats into the burning building. You then defend yhw goats and survive until the truck arrives. There is also plenty of cover aroynd the city such as the flowerbeds, roadblocks, etc to cover you while going out during and assault. Takes practice, but far from impossible.
Better to safe those continental coins. They are much more valuable for Gun mods like getting the Bigger the better surpressor to benefit of aced Professional than a feature in a safehouse youll never really need outside of achievements/easter egg.
Btw, if you know a heist has safety deposit boxes even in loud. You can take the skill portable saw to fit a saw in your secondary. That way you have a primary and can quickly open all the deposit boxes without wasting too much time.

    1. there are more than 1 profiles and more than 1 skill set when you go in skills press g you should have a free skill set to equipped to your 2nd profile
    2. i would recommend muscle for loud to start it give your health back every 5 secs its 3 % which is not a lot but i got you invest perk points into controller tree the goal is to get converts and hostage taker when you convert a cop with hostage taker it will give you an increase to your healing
    3. armor- go to the tank tree and i like to get to ironman basic but if you want the heaviest armor go for it this will make you move slower so i suggest duck and cover and parkour in the artful dodger skill tree and git second wind in silent killer
4- equipment use what you want just git the skills that would make it more helpful
5- weapons get the skills that benefit the weapons you're using for instance rpk the oppressor perk tree helps with getting through armor

Have your build focused one one thing. For example, tank builds have a ton of armor, health, and provide support for your teammates.
Medic Bags restores the amount of times you can go down before you end up in custody. Don’t use them all the time.
Perk Decks are also extremely useful. Stoic for example lets you tanks a lot of damage for about 12 seconds and if you use the hip flask, all that impending damage goes away. The more you play, you’ll learn how the game works

One thing I would recommend is starting on a lower difficulty at the beginning (like normal or hard). They're basically tutorial difficulties to teach you how both the map itself and game are played. I can't blame you for thinking that Payday 2 has a normal difficulty curve though, its so out of wack the finale difficulty is like 2-3x harder then previous one.

And you obviously never played Payday2 before, otherwise you would know everything that you didn't know.
The game is all about your loadout and skills.
Go Bank is one of the first map that came out. Everyone knows that you bring a saw to bank jobs for the deposit safes.
Loud missions are easy up to Mayhem and even Death Wish with a fair build.
Slaughterhouse is a missions that everyone played a thousand times for the high pay.
There's no helicopter lifting the gold up, you put it in a container and a crane lifts it up.
    Stuff like that.
I'm impressed about your runs in Shadow Raid and Election Day for sure, even if it was on normal difficulty.
Saying that stealth is better than loud is indeed a hot take because Stealth is, in overall, way harder and much more of a hassle than running and gunning depending on the map. Diamond Store is an easy one but if you go for The White House, The Diamond, Diamond Heist, The Big Bank, Golden Grin Casino, it's something else.
If you go loud with a two piece suit without a dodge build and with a silenced Deagle, you sure won't have a good time in loud.

    • @StaminaLoss
      @StaminaLoss 16 дней назад

It's funny about that last point. Payday 2 is so expansive, there are multiple ways to use non dodge suit deagle builds work.
Anarchist exists and should only be used with the suit since it offers the best armour gating.
Even then, perks like Grinder, Sociopath, Ex-President, etc exists and use the suit well.
The Deagle does a lot of damage so amazing against bulldozers once you invest into them, just need a crowd control weapon so you could pick up things like an lmg, a primary grenade launcher or even another deagle to have a build that destroys everything, but you have to track when to use your akimbo or single deagles.
And there's more, but the reply is long enough lmao

    Tl;dr
Learn to use and find cover around the maps.
Peek out and kill a lot to not get overwhelmed/do objectives.
Level up and make a build with your perk + weapons.
    Get Survival and weapon/damage skills.
Learn the other mechanics like how to counter shields.
Loud is so expansive, we haven't even fit everything, like other weapons, metas, how drama works, etc

I’m not gonna lie, This is probably an unpopular opinion but to me stealth is just so tedious, I want to be in the middle of an intense fire fight, while I’m holding hostages and drilling into a vault while my team holds me down, classic Heat like gameplay💯 just something about that adrenaline rush

The key to fun loud is the stupid fun builds. You xan make a sniper that does head shot damage when you hit people in the body, it also kills anyone like 5 meters around the bullet path.

  • @StaminaLoss
    @StaminaLoss 7 месяцев назад +5

In terms of skills, the most important thing to know is you need survival and gun skills. Now in terms of survival, this is usually a case by case basis such as a health tank perk like Stoic would always want Aced Hostage Taker and Jokers to regen health, but you can also not take it for certain builds. Such as perks like Grinder, Hacker, etc being able to heal quite fast independantly, but that's up to you. Or perks like Armourer where it always needs the ICTV, but could be used with either Aced Hostage Taker or instead get a damage up with Aced Berserker and lowering your health, which is not a bad strategy at all since you can rely on your armour really well. There is a lot to talk about and if you want to read more, there'll be a comment about a few ways to play 1 perk.
Weapon skills are pretty important. Like, if the weapon feels like a peashooter, you have the power to make it either overpowered or at least usuable.
The most common way to do so is to look at your detection risk and make sure you have a good concealment on your guns, armour and melee so you have 23/26 detection risk. You can use the skill Low blow and ace it so you do triple damage. That's all you need to know.
Assault rifles are really good as often they can be concealed and have a faster time to kill than Lmgs, that and crits work best with automatic weapons as crits have a chance to proc.
Sniper rifles are op as when you get Aced Graze, they become headshot based Rocket Launchers. They kill rooms very fast and especially with low damage snipers with crits/Aced Berserker, they are agurably one of the best weapons to use.
Weakness is it can't kill bulldozers as fast and you need to aim, although you can always take a crit smg as your secondary.
Shotguns are agurably the weakest weapons to use. But are still useful. If you equip the Dragons Breathe or Tombstone rounds, they become very easy guns for crowd control. Especially with crits, they kill and stun so much and it makes heists very easy. Only issues are bulldozers, but you can always take an smg or akimbo smgs, which kill even faster than assault rifles to counter the dozers.
You can also use the Akimbo shotguns, where if you get Basic Overkill and crits, you basically have no weakness when you have the 000 Buckshots. Judt requires a lot of skill points.
And we could go on and on but this comment is already long enough. Just know EVERYTHING has a niche use/at least a sidegrade use.
Earlier there was also Aced Berserker. This is also really good as if you have an armour build such as Armourer or Suit Anarchist, which commonly have Aced Berserker though a lot more perks used Berserker, you would want to lower your health to do more damage and it is consistent so better for weapons like DMRs (High damage assautl rifles that have low ammo pick up, also op with this skill). With Armourer it is a bit more riskier, but you have more damage so it kind of doesn't matter. Tanking is super good and there are ways to have both extra health + More damage with Aced Unseen strike, but it is a good sacrifice if you can kill them quicker. Just up to preference.

( VERY IMPORRANT NOTE: Story mode / Career mode, should have been done as it’s a tutorial and sets you up with enough get go to get going in a proper story formate and heists laid out with proper difficulty for you to get into payday2 )
I love the fact that so much is just wrong, but it’s wrong from player experience rather than Gameplay knowledge….. I love watching noobs learn. Payday2 has one of the best 0 to CrimeLord experiences.
Huge props on being new and doing car shop! Hearing him say loud sucked makes me wanna Sherpa and teach some. 😢
For loud is a cover based game ( even though people don’t wanna believe it, payday2 is a cover based shooter that is fast paced ) cover cover cover move cover move cover….. stay crouched it helps…. Aim for heads or aim for the gaps in the armor but mostly headshots….. if captain spawns you can see in the top right of the screen ( I use moltovs throw one wait throw another wait 2-3 moltovs should be able to wipe captain ) as far as struggling goes make sure to equip a deployable doctor bag, this will reset your downs when used as well as heal you to full, go down 2-3 times then use your doctor bag now you can go down 2-3 times more….. weapons bring what you want and for skills read through things and apply what weapons and deployable you bring into your skills.
    Pc alone ( 2,800+ hours, infamy 104+ )
Side note: Black screen on loading in is a desync issue the player just has to rejoin the host to fix….. there are a few desync issues that can happen when joining the game or loading a lobby, most are fixable by just waiting or reconnecting.
Gameplay stuff: Safe house raid is a daily event that happens it will every once everyday, and is super easy to farm out by finding others who are running it. …. Also you turned off AI which is preference, but the ai can run Skills in the crew ai Loadout screen, The ai on the left will be the last one replaced by a player….
(Slot machines don’t earn you enough cash to be worth anything at all) but I believe if you put enough time you can do anything! :)

Hi. payday 2 player with 700+ hours here.
I see that you're having a lot of trouble with loud gameplay, and that sucks.
Loud is just as fun, but you need to build for it.
Payday 2 is a very strict game with how stealth and loud differ (this has changed in pd3) so you need the build for it.
I would strongly suggest that you read the skills you pick and what they do so that you have a build that will work for what you need. If you want a certain type boost, it probably is there, but you just have not found it yet.
Perk decks also play an extra part in this, and further define your role, but there are also some clear metas once you start to unlock all the decks.
Im not here to explain everything for you, beceause that's just not fun, and i want you to play the game and learn more about.
    Happy heisting!

Your ignorance of loud isn't your fault, the game does a poor job of explaining certain mechanics to players. Experienced players forget that loud isn't fun with the basic guns and no knowledge of skills/decks that help you survive. Also, map knowledge is another hidden skill. For instance, you didn't use the conveyer belt in Slaughterhouse which would carry the bags for you.
