The reason for the very small sedans is the Chinese market. In China they love sedans, but they have some weird tax situation going on, so they get sedan versions of the small European cars, and can opt for a LWB (yes, long wheel base) version. It's just that much cheaper for them. These small sized sedans then often get released in other markets, just because they can be released with very little effort, or to lower the average fleet wide emission numbers. Hope this helps👍
@ *a country that is one of the largest market shares in the world for these car brands. For better or for worse these companies are paying more attention to these eastern asian markets as they sell more cars there and the US and Europe are more of an afterthought as far as design goes.
I don’t get why Americans dislike hatches. One super advantage is more air to push around with subwoofers. The stereo sounds so much better in hatchbacks & wagons. I am still waiting for WRX hatch to make 1 final appearance
The 235i grand coupe is very popular in South Africa, heck id buy one... looks very good in some specs i saw a white one with matte grey rims, oh my goodness it was so beautiful....
@@mreverything.t8829 also idk what how financing and taxes work on used vehicles in south africa, but here in america you could get a nice used f3X 340i/440i or maybe even a used g20 330i for the price of a new 235i gran coupe and either of those options are gonna make for a better sporty driving experience, better rear seats for your passengers, and nicer interiors.
@@geminithekid damn, how much are 2 series gran coupes over there? over here they're close to 40k usd with no options, which is comparable to the range you gave me in your currency, you can find an f30 340i in good condition for cheaper all day.
Thank you a wagon is so much better. I miss mine so fuck. A 5.0 mustang wanted to challenge me at a light. Look old ass vw wagon with a vr6 I think I had my jack all the way in the back. Still took off from him dusted. Wagons ain't slow u can see everything and omg the handling is amazing. I want another 1 so bad.

This might be the first “hope this helps” comment on the entire internet that isn’t opinionated and sarcastic. Thanks man!
Haha yeah I’m aware of the 3 series and 5 series long wheelbase models but I see how this makes sense for the 2GC as well.
At the same time GAF for China, why remove the brands aesthetics and performance for a Country that introduced COVID-19
