So hyang version on Begin Again Korea is a lay back acoustic version
The 4th Voice, Lara Fabian did a perfect rendition of the song as in WOW! Thats how vocal coaches reacted to her rendition, thats not Dolly or Whitney but WOW. Although they were no longer surprised since they knew her reputation already (reacted to some of her performances already). One thing that captivated me in her rendition is the emotional delivery .She was able to inject that hopeful vibe.uniquely her own style that seems to be the central part of the theme of the song. Its like literally singing the very essence of the song. (while the others try to focus more on their voices or vocal delivery/prowess).

So Hyang’s version (begin again during Covid lockdown) is full of emotion. It’s a stripped down version which isn’t focused on the big belts and for me, it was the first time hearing the meaning of the song because of her performance.
The richness in Lara Fabian's voice places her among the best. Between you and me, they're all very good.
Lara ate them all honestly. The WHOLE song is by far the best rendition of IWALY. And the song just came out when she sang it. You should react to her live performances (You’re not from here, Adagio, Caruso)

lol at comparing Whitney's version to anyones-lol it's not how high u go it's how pretty ur voice is and ur enunciation and no one had a prettier head voice or clear enunciation then the QUEEN Whitney!!! I'm surprised that the only man in this series didn't make you react more when he sang in the original key. As far as I'm concerned, he's quite a feat and for me he's the best in the series.
This song, even the National Anthem was created for her voice to one day take to the stratosphere. Any one else will trail in Whitney Houston 's interpretation of any song she put her voice to. Whitney arranged her own vocals, so the interpretation we look for when we hear these songs now- came from Whitney's emotions that day.

How could they not include Leona Lewis' version on here, which imo is one of the ones closest to Whitney's.

Okay.. I've got a crystal ball handy and it tells me that.. yes.. Floor's gonna do this one in the near future (after she's slain all of Disney). Interesting bonus prediction: she will stay way closer to Dolly Parton's intimate original than all of these Whitney copycats with their attempts at "shock & awe" vocals, which to me crushed every bit of up&close emotion that made the original so great.
Floor's version of this song will be akin to what she did with "Shallow" in Beste Zangers, when everybody was expecting to be belt-blasted tt moon & back and she shocked them with majestic delicacy 😁
