This was such a fantastic movie it will one day get its day in the sun
yeah probably. MCU Thanos with no gauntlet is still pretty strong, stronger than Hulk, but he wouldn’t be able to keep up with Superman’s speed or be able to defend himself/counter Superman’s heat vision. So id say Superman wins relatively fast. But if we’re talking about comic book versions, than this fight is a looooot closer. Comic book Thanos even without the gauntlet has beaten the shit outta Thor, Hulk, Silver Surfer, held his own against Odin and injured Galactus. He has Superhuman strength, durability, and energy manipulation powers that he can omit from his hands, even without the stones. In the comics, Thanos is on the level of the Skyfathers in terms of power. He’s extremely powerful. And EXTREMELY smart. As for Superman, well, I’ll keep is brief. Superman’s abilities consist of: flight, superhuman strength, x-ray vision, heat vision, cold breath, super-speed, enhanced hearing, nigh-invulnerability, enhanced healing, electromagnetic vision, telepathy, enhanced energy absorption, telekinesis, enhanced memory, enhanced learning, ventriloquism, energy manipulation, mind control, microscopic vision, and even intangibility. And this isn’t all of it. Superman has a LOT of tricks up his sleeve, definitely more than Thanos, but is still MORE than a worthy opponent to him. I think I’d have Superman winning because he has more powers to use against Thanos. The main ones are obviously his many mind powers and his super speed. Comic book Thanos while having an extremely quick reacting time wouldn’t be able to keep up with Superman at his tops speeds. I only see Thanos maybe winning because I think that he’s smarter than Superman, but Superman is also really smart and I don’t think that Thanos would even have time to come up with a plan to beat him without supes figuring it out. The Universe that this fight takes place in is also important because if in the DC universe Thanos with Kryptonite would 100% beat Superman. But if in the Marvel Universe Superman wins in a close fight.
People tell they don't like change in characters however in the MCU Spiderman was reduced to the form of an AI suit wearing protege of Tony Stark, The Mandarin - one of the greatest Marvel villains - was a wasted opportunity, Civil War was a hilariously small event, Age of Ultron was more like Week of Ultron and Marvel fans are ok with that, but then Zack created a pretty much very faithful depiction of Superman everyone jumped at him for "ruining" the character, the movie being too dark, not enough color, Sups not running around all the time saving people and other bullcrap.
@Prince Raj maybe u don't understand what i meant, but the above comment means that i like dc because of above reasons i mentioned and the reason u gave made me love dc all over again.... I do like intense fight not the fights where Nat died and after sometime Racoon cracked a sick joke...
Just truly beautiful and epic. Music, action, acting, all of it. Fantastic. This is what a superhero action scene should look like. Zack Snyder is the new standard.
One thing that really stood out is that Superman needed to end the fight as soon as possible. The only thing Superman had over Zod was more experience with his powers, and intially, the advantage of flight. Zod was clearly a quick learner and got the hang of heat vision and flight rapidly. If he had time to master all his powers he would be outmatched by Zod.
If we went to a alien planet where the gravity and the people are weak. We will be able to lift heavy weights there and look strong. That doesn’t mean us humans are “gods”. Humans can even fly in the titan (Jupiter’s moon). Same goes for kryptonians. They are just adapted to the heavier gravity of krypton which is why they fly and can lift heavy heavy weights on earth. They are not gods.
Nemenis not really. That would be a scientific term, but that’s not how kryptonians work. But their powers come from the solar radiation of the sun. That means they would be just as strong on other planets, even if the gravity is the same as their home planet or even greater. They would still be the equivalent to gods
This shows how powerful and unstoppable Superman is! I don't know why people underestimate him and says that some noobs like Thor and Hulk can defeat him. These guys were not even able to defeat thanos how can they defeat the most powerful man in the universe? Lol you need to study Superman before saying anything after him!
Lol then wtf you want to tell about batman vs superman. If he can defeat him why can't they. Stop making stupid comments and get your f##king facts right. They could also beat Superman. We never got to experience a fight between them. So shut the F#ckup for now noob
THIS is how you depict the swift brutality of two demigods fighting. The destruction is immense and unforgiving. Zack Snyder has set the standard for superhero combat
2:12 when Superman hits the Sign that say there where no accidents for 106 days, the 1 and the 6 fall of and only the 0 is left. I love taht level of detail.
@Conrad Kujur Toei Animation lacks CGI Production and in a massive scale and they lack of taking actors who can fit the character role perfectly. They don't even understand that they're Asian Actors are just fit for the character role in their realistic movies and don't understand that Hollywood is full of such actors.
Zod with those uppercuts though......... I believe Zod wanted to die. Compare his fighting style to Kal’s. Zoos fighting style was way more impactful and extreme. If you pay close attention, he actually let Superman have his way sort of. He would hit him hard with a few combination attacks, then let him have his way for long periods of time as if he were trying to lead him somewhere. Then that scene in the station at the end. There are worse things than death itself, for instance living with the blood of a dozen souls staining your soul without a single lapse of peace knowing you could’ve saved those people. Take that agony, and multiply it times the amount of failures you accumulate in life/opportunities blown/life’s curve balls. What you’ve got is engineered self doubt held within a man( or being) all sparked by the flame of guilt from not being able to stop innocent people from dying. Zod used the same strategy that The Joker used in The Dark Knight, and considering the events of TDKR and BVS they both were actually successful if you really think about it.
@@TonyG8992 I do think he was suicidal. His speech before the fight that saving Krypton was his only reason to live, that Kal has taken his very soul from him (his comrades, his family, are also gone) so he didn’t want to live anymore. The thing is, how was he going to commit suicide? They don’t seem to know about Kryptonite. So making Kal kill him was the only way. And fighting with him will hurt Kal too, and he can witness people dying around him, maybe even fall on their heads himself, which is what happened a and caused the events of BvS (not always explicitly shown as this is a PG-13 movie, but that’s what’s implied). Killing all humans wasn’t his “main” goal, he just said that to push him (there are multiple instances where he keeps pushing him - “there is only one way this ends”). Anyway, this is my interpretation.
I can't believe people hate this movie and this fight. What does people want when two beings with god-like strength and durability will fight with each other in a city? Just leaves falling down from plants and trees? Destruction and death of civilians is obvious in this kind of fights. Why people can't accept the reality and sensible things? This movie is a masterpiece in every aspect, it's even much better than many popular movies which aren't comic-book/superhero movies.

Any action sequence with two Kryptonians fighting is going to be this destructive and on such a large scale. Unless you're a twee nostalgia hound hoping that it's going to be a polite 'pistols at dawn' affair. Some of the best and most believable action in cbms considering the power levels of the combatants.
Tony Wicks - C2D4 Comics well said
Um... but he could at least show some concern about it, like how Ironman cared when fighting against Hulk. He could at least try to take the fight to somewhere empty (like Goku would) (not saying he has to successfully do that, just try), or take a few hits to safe some people (since nothing on Earth even scratches him apparently), like that gas truck for example. But nope, let's just punch and throw stuff at each other, don't mind the people you're trying to protect in the first place.
I mean seriously, for the whole movie, he never even looked at the civilians unless it's some soldier men or when it's convenient.
Kryptonian Superpowers Can cause destruction
Damn. I wish Superman was actually the last living kryptonian😭
I just wish they had shown superman caring for the people on the ground, like if they just had one shot of superman protecting people from falling rubble or something people wouldn't hate on this so much
this goes to show he was holding back the entire time. Superman wanted to subdue him, but he had to go there and boom, he dead.
Superman has to hold back his entire life.. Otherwise he cannot be Clark Kent anymore.. Using only "human" strength.. Focusing on not using his heat vision.. And so on.. If Superman does not really hold back.. He is unstoppable
The real superhuman fight. Better than any Marvel fight in movies. Sayin dat as a Marvel fan.

@@SDFutureMusic what good has Warner Brothers done to prove that?
@@mikeamber2528 Let's say , consider game or anime action scenes , why do you think those movies are a flop when live action , main reason is fighting scenes aren't realistic . Warner bros has experience with heavy cgi action .
Disney can never do this especially when they are not well experienced in this field.
Edit : Detective Pikachu , though not that great but still entertaining to watch , cgi scenes are very thrilling in it . If an dbz movie is going to come out , the production company has to be the best cgi action scenes producing type.
mike amber they made this movie to prove that

I love the argument that you see a lot 'Why doesn't he take the fight away from the city'.
What's to stop Zod from just flying right back to Metropolis and killing more civilians? This is Clark's first actual fight with people as strong as he is too which is something people don't really take into consideration.
exactly. people think zod wants to kill superman when his true goal is kill off the human species of earth.
@@henrynguyen6437 Actually he just wants to make superman suffer. Physical(pounding on him/killing him)
Emotional(Making it explicitly clear he was going to make the Humans suffer)
@@sir-_-smith9949 wtf it’s like you didn’t even watch the damn movie.
@@henrynguyen6437 Why so aggressive?
His ultimate goal was to ensure the continuation of his species, and to do so he had to wipe out the inhabitants of earth, but superman made that impossible when he destroyed the world engine
Before they clash Zod explicitly says"I will make them suffer" Superman took away his purpose for living. Zod says as much and now wants to take something from suparman. So that is very much hurting him emotionaly. Later he says:" There is only one way this ends Kal, either you die, or I do." Hurting him physically.
And please elaborate why you think what I just said is false because this is very much what the final fight conveyed.

Can you imagine how fucking awesome the fighting scenes would be?
oqghr
Mark my words guys and gals, this film will one day get its due. One day it will be seen for the amazing piece of work it is. Clark has never had a fight in his life... He would definitely move the fight out of the city in the future. It is such a bloody shame Henry has been fucked over royally by WB... What a cast... From GORGEOUS Diane Lane to the Becca reading Michael Shannon to, and i mean this, the best Superman/Clark/Kal(yes they are three different roles) actor ever in Henry Cavill... This was such a fantastic movie it will one day get its day in the sun
This movie was ahead of its time.
imagine, you time travelled into the 70s and 80s bringing this movie and playing it into the theater, people would loose their minds.
Dead serious
The time line will get destroyed tho
Only because of the special effects, and that could apply to any CGI-filled movie from today. Man of Steel isn’t special.
Zod kills thanos very easily. Greatness
@TheCatGuy yep. superman kills thanos before he gets the gauntlet. it would be an incredible fight.
yeah probably.

Let's sink it that people don't like dark, mysterious, mature, rational, logical themes still stuck into the kids level. DC is deep

Just truly beautiful and epic. Music, action, acting, all of it. Fantastic. This is what a superhero action scene should look like. Zack Snyder is the new standard.
The music accompanying the action sequence from 3:16 to 3:50 is simply glorious.
Han Zimmer, legend
interestingly enough its the same score that played when Superman killed Doomsday in BvS
Let's not forget to give credit to Jay Oliva as well. He worked with Snyder as the Storyboard Artist on creating these amazing action scenes.

Fight of gods
Injustice GODS AMONG US.

look properly there is a cape on superman
Deep
WTF Zod was not suicidal, but he even if it costed his life, he was gonna kill as many people as he could have.
Anyway, this is my interpretation.
sad how we will no longer see Henry Cavil as superman, but we should still be happy about this movie
After streaming it this past week I see what you mean.
It’s all super powered brutality and CGI flexing and little heart.
