I had no idea folks hated his voice this much…I’ve loved it since starting but I also never played the original. I can see how fans would be displeased with a change but I think he’s done a great job. Guess I’m the outlier on this video
You're not the outlier, my friend. One thing that people lose sight of through the nostalgia is the fact that Square Enix... umm... SUCKED when it came to VA in those days. Rick Gomez did a great job with what was available at the time but Caleb Pierce is just as good, imho

Hearing new Zack was exponentially more painful than seeing new Peter Parker in Spider-Man. EXPONENTIALLY.
Zack’s awful voice aside, Cody did a great job voicing younger Cloud. He really sold the youth and innocence and naivety that Cloud had before it was ripped away from him.
Why doesn't Tseng remember Cloud?
If you were a guy who's paid to mainly do secret service shit and you're escorting a bunch of military mooks around on a mission i dont see a reason why youd remember that

Man you guy think this is bad voice acting look at sonic adventure and Naruto ninja storm. The voice don’t sync with the lips

Ruined the entire game for me. This is not Zack at all. Cloud is top notch though luckily.
Gomez performance really wasn't that good, we're not talking of top notch voice acting at all.

@@kaiko70 agreed. Gomez did a great job but let's be real. The earliest days of Square Enix's VA work was... what's the polite word... OK, at best. People are allowed to not like Pierce's performance but Terrible? That's just being dramatic for the sake of being dramatic
