I love how you don’t have to remove the caliper for the front. That’s a great design for a pad slap. I wish cars were like that. Great video with great angles
Professional quality video!!! Extremely well done video and instructions. If someone can’t follow your video, they have no business performing brake work on their Spyder. 💯
Just replaced my front pads they came with shims already on them, still a good idea to grease them up a little and the slide pin. Did not take long at all to replace, probably total time about 35 minutes. This guy in this videoprobably did it in less time than me on the fronts.
Thank you for your very easy to understand video. I'm getting ready to do my first brake job on my wife's Spyder and I feel real comfortable with it after watching your video. 👍👍
thats a great video, have brakes locked on which i suspect is the park brake but want to change the rear pads as well as think the park brakes been dragging for a while ... brakes look to be one of the few uncomplicated jobs on the spyder
Thanks a lot for showing me where is the jacking point, but put some silicone grease on the backing plate of the brake pads will help to reduce the noise it might created by the vibration.😄
I agree, great video. I will use this when the time comes to replace the brakes on my RT Limited. How many miles (or km) did you put on the original brakes?
Hi I appreciate your fast response on my first comment, but now I have a question. I have a 2017 spyder rts and I followed your video step for step. After completing I pumped the brake pedal and all that. I took the bike out and performed a series of quick stops, but I am getting a clicking or rattling noise coming from the front brakes. The noise gets louder when I step on the brake pedal. Do you have any idea what it might be or what I might have done wrong? Thanks
Mathieu what is the “thing” that you turned clockwise with the long nose for the rear break, is it the piston? Does it come back to its original position when you press on the break pedal? Merci .
J'ai utilisé la pince pour visser le piston de l'étrier afin de le rentrer pour accepter les nouvelles plaquettes de frein qui sont plus épaisse Oui il reviendra à sa position en pesant sur la pédale de frein
We all know how ridiculously expensive a brake job costs....THANK YOU...WELL DONE
Thank you for watching

Thank you ! I wish that the rear brakes we're that easy too
Thanks! Shows me what I need to do without a lot of bad camera angles and dialogue. Well done sir!
Glad you liked it, thank you !

Great video with very helpful camera angles. Thanks for the upload
Thank you Glad you enjoyed !
Need to keep an eye on brake fluid when retracting the pistons. Also, the pads didn’t look worn out. Clean and grease the pin so the pads don’t stick.
Thank you for sharing !
Excellent! Thank you Sir. I will think of you when the time comes to do mine.

Awesome video, very detailed no questions on how after watching your video. Thank you Sir.

Thanks in advance, don't need pads yet but I always do my own maintenance.
Congrats, thanks for watching !

True, a lot of simple things are very time consuming on the spyder
@@MathieuTechMoto according to the manual u have to disconnect a lot of things , your way is easier and less complicated

I would remove the wheels and fully inspect the front brakes, then turn the rotors while applying some brake with your hand to hear what is rattling
Well done,thank you !!!
Thank for watching :)
Thank you for a great vidoe!
Yeah, thanks for watching :)
Simple proces and w/o too much gabbering! Well Done.

Do I need to remove the cap off the brake fluid so lines don't burst?
@@JablonskiV No need for that, the fluid will return to the reservoir, thats why you don't want to full your reservoir when your brakes are worn
EBC brakes only isn't recommended to reuse shims...

Ty for this video.

Did this and now I got a brake failure message on the screen. Any way to further review and reset that night?
NVM. Update. Pressed the brakes a bunch of times, turned the bike off for 30 minutes. Powered it back up and it’s gone! Thanks again!!!
@@JablonskiVThank you for the update, i think it will happen if you give throttle with the rear wheel in the air
@@MathieuTechMotoI did start it when it was in the air to pump the brakes. Makes sense! Thanks again!
Hi, do you have any idea where the 2011 Can am Spyder RT mileage sensor is located?
Nope, sorry !

P.s. Je présume que le processus est le même pour la 2011?

@@MathieuTechMoto okay, merci encore.
Hi, this may be a dumb question, but will this video apply to a 2017 rt s se6
Thanks in advance
I think the process is the same, did not try on newer spyder's
Nice share 👍
Thank you !
The clip that goes under the pin was going the opposite way you installed it. Does it matter?
At which time ?
Can this same procedure be done on a 2020 model???
I don't know but probably very similar
Any idea if these are the same steps for the 2019 f3s as well
Edit: Yes, they seems to be the same
You can buy them here :
amzn.to/3wgNvqG
This is very likely to be the same steps

Anybody know if the front caliper mounting bolts torq lbs
A quick google search : 34 lb/ft
www.canamspyderforums.com/threads/here-are-some-touge-settings.21002/
0:44 accurate.
lol
Does not look anything like front brakes on 2011 . There are two 5/8 bolts and tiny spring clips on back that are impossible to put back on
Thanks for sharing !
Yes the 2011 is different. I was going to pull mine off but they weren't coming out easy so I got on RUclips and here I am
You should never reinstall brake pins without Sil-Glyde or something similar. That is a definite no-no.
Thanks for the tip !
Merci , je vais essayer sur mon rotax 990 2008 5 vitesse sûrement c’est dans le même genre
I'm betting this tookmyou way more than 7 minutes....
Always looks easy on video ;)
What size torx screw is that anyone
T30 if my memory is good

Not a 2021
